Lao Prime Minister Supports Korean People's Struggle

     Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- The Lao party, government and people support the just struggle of the fraternal Korean people to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country. Boungnang Vorachit, prime minister of Laos who is member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, said this when meeting with Kim Thae Jong, DPRK ambassador to the country, who paid a farewell call on him on July 8. He stated that the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the parties, governments and peoples of Laos and the DPRK are developing in the political, economic, cultural and other fields in the interests of the two peoples under the deep concern of Khamtay Siphandone and leader Kim Jong Il.

Singaporean President Hopes for Earlier Solution of Korean Issue

     Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- The north-south negotiations were held recently and economic cooperation is making successful progress, exerting positive influence on global peace and security, too. Singapore hopes for an earlier and negotiated peaceful solution of the issue on the Korean Peninsula. Singaporean President S.R. Nathan, said this when meeting DPRK Ambassador to the country Ji Jae Suk on July 7. Singapore is observing the Korean issue with deep concern, he noted, underscoring the need to steadily boost the bilateral relations.

Kim Il Sung Remembered by World People

     Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- A joint remembrance meeting of Nepalese social organizations was held in Katmandu on July 6 under the sponsorship of the National Committee of Nepal to Remember the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung. Displayed in the venue were photos showing his immortal revolutionary exploits. Present there were C.P. Mainali, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist−Leninist) who is chairman of the national committee, Lam Prid Paswan, vice-president of the Senate of Nepal, and other senior officials of the government, political parties and social organizations and people from all walks of life.
    Present there on invitation were DPRK ambassador to the country and embassy officials.
    The participants laid a basket of flowers before the full-length portrait of President Kim Il Sung and paid homage to him.
    Speakers at the meeting highly praised the immortal exploits the President performed by devoting all his life to the Korean revolution and the global cause of independence. A message to leader Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.
    Remembrance meetings and film shows were held in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Tanzania, Uganda and Kyrgyzstan from July 5 to 7 on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of Kim Il Sung's demise.

Youth and Students' Joint Council Formed in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- The youth and students' joint council for peace against war and for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces was reportedly formed. It groups seven youth and students organizations in south Korea. Its inaugural ceremony was held in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul on July 9.
    It was addressed by Jon Sang Bong, chairman of the south Korean Council of Youth Organizations, and Song Hyo Won, chairwoman of the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils, etc.
    Referring to the purport of the formation of the joint council, the speakers said that it is the unanimous desire of the youth and students in south Korea to drive away the U.S. forces, a cancer-like entity standing in the way of peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula.
    The joint council will take the lead in the struggle for the pullout of the U.S. forces from south Korea and the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and launch a massive and positive action to encourage the youth and students in the struggle for independent reunification and democracy, they stressed.
    A declaration and an action program of the joint council were made public at the ceremony.

Russian Ambassador Hosts Friendly Meeting

     Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Andrei Karlov hosted a friendly meeting at the embassy on Wednesday evening on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the DPRK-Russia joint declaration. Present on invitation were officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    Russian embassy officials were on hand.
    After watching a Russian feature film, the participants referred to the achievements made in the development of the DPRK-Russia friendly relations over the last five years since the publication of the declaration. They talked to one another about the need to boost the cooperative relations between the two countries, deepening the friendship.

Cuban Embassy Officials Help Korean Workers

     Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Cuban Charge d'Affaires a.i. in Pyongyang Caridad Adela Galan Pelegrino and embassy officials Thursday visited the DPRK-Cuba Friendship Stock-Farm managed by Paek Man Hung and gave helping hands to it on the occasion of the month of solidarity with the Cuban people. Present there were Kil Sang Bong, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, and other officials concerned.
    After looking round the stock-farm, they helped its workers in mowing.
    The charge d'affaires wished the officials and employees of the stock-farm bigger success in the production this significant year that marks the 60th anniversaries of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea and the liberation of Korea.

Fact-finding Group Meets in Japan

     Tokyo, July 13 (KNS-KCNA) -- The Osaka Group for Probe into the Truth behind Forcible Drafting of Koreans held a meeting on July 6 with regard to investigation into the remains of Korean victims to forcible drafting. Present there were members of the group, Koreans in Japan and Japanese citizens.
    Hong Sang Jin, secretary general of the central headquarters of the Korean side to the group, said in a speech that remains of many Korean victims to forcible drafting were found to be kept in temples in Osaka, Ibaraki, Kanagawa, Aichi and other localities of Japan, noting that fact-finding teams of different areas are now engaged in investigation.
    He urged a wide-range probe not only into the draftees but also into the Koreans who were killed by the Japanese reactionaries after the liberation of Korea.
    Yoshihiro Sorano, secretary general of the Japanese side to the group, in a speech criticized the insincere approach of the Japanese government to the investigation into remains, urging the government to compensate to the victims of Asian countries to the brutalities of the Japanese imperialists in the past. We will also make an active investigation, he stated.
    The meeting heard a report on the activities of the Osaka investigation group.

Rodong Sinmun on Building Independent New World

     Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- The slogan "Let us defend and advance the socialist cause, the ideal and the future of mankind!" out of the joint slogans of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea published on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the party founding, carries the idea that to defend and develop the socialist movement of the world is the common historical task of humankind, says Rodong Sinmun in an article Friday. It is the noble purpose and mission of socialism to oppose exploitation and oppression of man by man and all types of domination and subjugation, respect and ensure the sovereignty of all the countries and nations and struggle for the realization of the intrinsic demand and ideal of humankind to live and develop independently, declares the author of the article, and continues;

Far-infrared Fire-proof Materials Used in DPRK

     Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Far-infrared refractory materials have been widely used in economic sectors in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The heat-insulating materials, which radiate heat well while saving electricity and coal, are used in making insulating bricks, heating boards and heat-radiating tiles.
    As they sharply raise thermal efficiency per unit hour, the insulating bricks are suitable for electric stoves of restaurants, heat treatment furnaces and forging furnaces. They can save 50 percent of electricity in case of electric stove.
    The steam bathhouses, built with the heating boards and heat-radiating tiles, ensure high temperature and lift far-infrared ray intensity up to 80 percent while economizing 30 percent of electricity, 40 percent of coal and 60 percent of wood.
    The porous boards and tiles with a strong adsorptive power remove unpleasant smell and moisture from the steam bathhouses.

Enlarged Plenary Meeting of DPRK Cabinet Held

     Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- An enlarged plenary meeting of the DPRK Cabinet was held. Premier Pak Pong Ju and members of the Cabinet attended the meeting.
    Vice-ministers of various ministries, chiefs of the institutions directly under the authority of the Cabinet, chairpersons of the provincial, city and county people's committees, chairpersons of the provincial agricultural management committees and managers of major factories and enterprises were also present there as observers.
    The meeting reviewed the implementation of the tasks set forth by the joint editorial for this year and the fulfillment of national economy plan for the first half of the year and discussed measures to be taken to thoroughly implement the militant tasks laid down in the joint slogans set forth by the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the WPK.
    Pak Pong Ju made a report which was followed by speeches by the ministers of Agriculture, Electricity and Coal Industries and Railways, the manager of the Musan Mining Complex and other officials.
    They said that not a few achievements have been made in the work to implement the economic tasks of the WPK. In hearty response to the militant call of the WPK all the people of the country have turned out in a dynamic drive to aid the farms materially and with manpower and many factories and enterprises have registered great successes through energetic endeavors to honor their national economy plans for the first six months of the year. Ministries, national institutions and complexes and all provinces have overfulfilled their plans for the national budgetary revenue and their assignments for the local budgetary revenue.
    The meeting specified the tasks to be fulfilled by different sectors to thoroughly implement the militant tasks set forth in the joint slogans, demonstrate the might of the servicepersons and people single-mindedly united around the headquarters of the revolution, effect a great innovation and surge in the revolution and construction and thus bring about a drastic turn in economic construction and in the improvement of the standard of the people's living.
    The meeting also took measures for doing farming well to attain the goal of grain production this year without fail and proposed a series of tasks to be carried out to develop electricity, coal and metal industries and railway transport, key fronts of economic construction.
    It also laid down tasks to be fulfilled to effect a fresh surge in machine building, mining, building materials and chemical industries and timber industry.

    　 Pyongyang, 15 de julio (ATCC) -- En varios sectores de la economia nacional se utiliza ampliamente el material refractario adiabatico de rayos infrarrojos lejanos que permite obtener la alta eficacia termica. 　 Este material permite ahorrar la electricidad, el carbon y otros. Por su gran efecto de radiacion termica y adiabatismo el material se usa en la produccion de ladrillo adiabatico, planchas de calentadores y azulejos de radiacion termica.
    　 El ladrillo adiabatico eleva al maximo la eficacia termica por unidad de tiempo, por eso, se utiliza para la pared interna del hornillo electrico y hornos de tratamiento termico y de forja.
    　 El horno electrico ahorra el 50 por ciento de la electricidad.
    　 Las planchas de calentadores y azulejos de radiacion termica aplicados en la pared internos de la sauna permiten ahorrar el 30 por ciento de electricidad, el 40 por ciento de carbon y el 60 por ciento de madera y asegurar el alto calor y la densidad de rayos infrarrojos lejanos hasta el 80 por ciento.
