Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- Joint slogans of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea were made public Saturday on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the WPK.
The full text of the slogans reads:
We greet the 60th anniversary of the glorious Workers' Party of Korea on the road of the sacred Songun revolution.
The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung founded our Party on October 10, Juche 34 (1945), on the basis of the anti-Japanese revolutionary traditions. This was a historic event which opened up a new era in building the socialist ruling Party of Juche type.
Under the banner of the Juche idea during the six decades our Party has made great achievements by leading to victory the most difficult and complex struggles in our times such as the deep-going social revolutions, the grim war, the gigantic building of socialism and the battle without gunshot in defence of socialism.
In the course of opening up the era of the Workers' Party, which is most brilliant in the nation's history of five thousand years, shouldering the destiny of the country and nation, our Party has developed into a seasoned general staff of revolution which enjoys the people's absolute trust. It has acquired a high authority as the vanguard in the struggle for independence against imperialism and as the defender of justice.
Our Party, army and people are now vigorously advancing toward the high eminence of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation under the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il.
For a long time since its foundation, our Party has invariably maintained its revolutionary character as the party of its leader and faithfully carried forward the leader's revolutionary cause generation after generation. This is the great pride of our Party.

Guinean Prime Minister on Friendly Relations with DPRK
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- It is necessary to boost the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between Guinea and the DPRK as required by the new century and desired by the peoples of the two countries. Guinean Prime Minister Cellou Dalein Diallo said this on June 24 when meeting the DPRK government economic delegation led by Minister of Foreign Trade Rim Kyong Man on a visit to Guinea upon the authorization of Guinean President Lansana Conte.
The friendly and cooperative relations provided by President Kim Il Sung and the preceding presidents of Guinea have invariably grown strong and developed thanks to leader Kim Jong Il and President Lansana Conte, he said.
He said that the Guinean people express full support to the Korean people in their indomitable struggle for the sovereignty and peaceful reunification of the country.
Russian Artistes Perform in Wonsan
Wonsan, June 30 (KCNA) -- The State Academic Moiseyev Dance Company of Russia gave performances in Wonsan, a port city on the east coast of Korea, from June 27 to 30.
The company successfully staged in Wonsan, the capital of Kangwon Province, the colorful numbers they had prepared with sincerity after making performance tours of Samjiyon, Ryanggang Province in the northern region of the DPRK and Pyongyang.
Through their numbers including "Guerrillas" and "Apple" distinctive of dancers beating time with their feet and dynamic rhythms, both characteristic of Russian dances, and perfect ensemble, the performers truthfully represented the emotion, custom and optimistic life of the Russians.
They successfully presented "Gaucho" and "Tabakeraska" and other folk dances of different countries and nations meeting their thematic needs to the acclaim of the audience.
The performing activities of the company have made a great contribution to boosting the friendly relations between the DPRK and Russia and the exchange and cooperation between the artistes of the two countries.
Among the audience were Ko Jong Dok, chairman of the Kangwon Provincial People's Committee, and Ju Kyong Jun, secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Over 170 Cases of U.S. Aerial Espionage Committed against DPRK in June
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists have become more desperate in their aerial espionage against the DPRK at a time when multi-faceted dialogue is under way between the north and the south and inter-Korean exchange and cooperation have become more brisk than ever before, according to a military source.
The cases of aerial espionage committed by the U.S. imperialists against the DPRK in June totaled more than 170.
Involved in them were the strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes with various missions that took off U.S. air force bases in south Korea and overseas.
U-2s made long shuttle flights in the air above the area south of the Military Demarcation Line almost every day to spy on the strategic targets of the DPRK.
RC-135 and EP-3 flew over the East and West seas of Korea for several days to spy on the targets in the depth of the DPRK and its costal line and seabed.
E-3 committed aerial espionage against the military targets in the area along the forefront of the DPRK, while commanding fighters engaged in different forms of war drills in the sky over Sosan, Ronsan, Yongdong and other parts of South Chungchong Province.
Meanwhile, RC-12, RC-7B and other type planes with different missions committed aerial espionage against the front, inland areas and areas along the coast of the DPRK.
NA Passage of "Agreement on Share of Defence Spending" Opposed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification reportedly staged a one-by-one demonstration against the passage of the "agreement on the share of defence spending" through the south Korean "National Assembly" in front of its building on June 27, branding it as a product of submission to and collusion with the U.S.
Kong Tong Gil, chief of the team for disarmament and peace of the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, denounced the south Korean authorities for their disgraceful attitude such as offering the U.S. troops a huge amount of money collected from the people as taxes under the pretext of the south Korea-U.S. "alliance."
He strongly demanded the authorities immediately withdraw the "agreement on the share of defence spending," which would be helpful to the U.S. military presence in south Korea and its harsher colonial domination over it, and renegotiate the agreement.

Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- South Korean religious organizations reportedly held a "Christians' forum on peace" in Seoul on June 27 to mark the fifth anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration.
Present there were members of 12 religious organizations including the National Pastoral Council for Justice and Peace, the south Korean Christian Professors Council, the Christian Women's Society, the south Korean Women Theologians Council and the Korean Nation's Exchange and Cooperation Fund.
Speakers said the Armistice Agreement between the DPRK and the U.S. must be replaced with a peace agreement and arms cut be carried out, if peace was to be brought to this land. They called for curbs on "strategic flexibility" of the U.S. forces in south Korea.
Peaceful reunification is impossible without overcoming anti-communist, pro-U.S. flunkeyism, an offspring of the Cold War structure, they said, and called for an intensified fight against the anti-peace, anti-reunification forces within the south Korean churches.
Adopted at the forum was a declaration urging peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Withdrawal of Patriot Missile Deployment Plan Demanded
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The All-Citizens Measure Committee for the Withdrawal of the Plan for the Deployment of Patriot Missiles and Building of a Citizens Park on Munhak Hill in south Korea reportedly held a protest rally in front of the building of the "Ministry of National Defense" on June 28 to demand the withdrawal of the Patriot missile deployment plan.
Speakers at the rally said the fulfillment of the plan meant to be inveigled into the U.S. missile defense system.
Stating that the plan was unnecessary and it only menaced peace on the Korean Peninsula, they declared what the defense ministry should do was to ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Made public at the rally was a protest letter to the defense minister. It urged the defense ministry to retract the Patriot missile deployment plan and buckle down to arms cut for peace.
After the rally, the protesters held a symbolic ceremony against the deployment of Patriot missiles and handed the protest letter to the defense ministry.
Sports Games for "Pochonbo Torch Cup" Close
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The Sports Games for "Pochonbo Torch Cup" closed. It opened on June 4 to mark the day of the victory in the historic Pochonbo battle.
During the games, 11 records of the DPRK were renewed in 10 events including shooting and archery.
In the gymnastic (first class) contests, man gymnasts of the April 25 Sports Group and woman gymnasts of the Pyongyang City Sports Group won the top honor in the total points of all category team events. The man swimmers of Korean University of Physical Education and woman swimmers of the April 25 Sports Group carried away the gold in the swimming contests and the man and woman shooters and archers of the April 25 National Defence Sports Group clinched the titles.
Man players of the Kaesong Textile Mill Sports Group won the crown in the aero model contests (free flight).
The closing ceremony took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street, Pyongyang, on June 30, at which prizes were awarded to the successful groups and players.
Present at the closing ceremony were Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and other cadres.
World Community Celebrates 5th Anniv. of June 15 Inter-Korean Joint Declaration
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- Progressives worldwide joined the Koreans in hailing and significantly celebrating the fifth anniversary of the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.
Colorful functions such as meetings, symposiums, film shows, lectures and book and photo exhibitions were held in many countries including Russia, India, Nepal, Poland, Britain, Egypt, South Africa and Peru.
Joint statements were published by the New Communist Party of Britain, the U.S. Group for the Study of Songun Politics, the Swiss Committee for Supporting Korea's Independent and Peaceful Reunification and a number of political parties and organizations of Democratic Congo, Pakistan, Uganda and India and statements were made public by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Secretariat of the National Movement of Uganda, the Tunisia-Korea Friendship Association, the Mexican Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification and the Bulgarian Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, and press statements were issued by the president of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Mauritius, the chairman of the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of the University of Kinshasa and the chairman of the Trade Union of Marine Transport of Indonesia in support of the June 15 joint declaration.
Meanwhile, unquestioned support to the joint declaration was voiced on various opportunities by the president of Mauritius, the vice-president of Democratic Congo, the deputy prime minister and concurrently foreign minister of Laos, the minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophone Affairs of Equatorial Guinea, the president of the Pakistan Socialist Party and many other high placed politicians.
More than 150 media across the world carried special writ-ups and articles under titles such as "Lodestar of Korea's Reunification," "Leading the Nation to Reunification" and "Songun and June 15 Reunification Era" and aired commemorative programs in golden hours in nearly 20 days.
The International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea in its statement noted that no outside force could bar the advance of the Korean people toward the country's reunification over the last five years.
Brussels was the venue of the 14th seminar of the international communists on "the experience and internationalist tasks of the communists in the struggle against imperialism" and a special meeting of the world communist parties and workers' parties for solidarity with the DPRK.
A resolution on Korea and a statement on Korea's peace and reunification were adopted at the 16th conference of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers held in Paris.
Reckless Remarks of Japanese Official under Fire
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- Masahiro Morioka, official of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, at a meeting of the Committee of Members of the House of Representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan asserted that the International Far Eastern Military Tribunal was an illegal one as it was held when Japan was under occupation and Class A war criminals were, therefore, not guilty. And he openly vindicated the visits to the Yasukuni Shrine by the chief executive and other politicians of Japan.
In this regard, Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed article says:
The International Far Eastern Military Tribunal judged the war crimes perpetrated by the Japanese imperialists after starting the Pacific war according to the articles of the then international law and took relevant measures to punish them.
Nevertheless, the Japanese reactionaries are now perpetrating such reckless acts as asserting that even the international tribunal which judged the Japanese imperialists' war crimes was an "illegal one", not content with their denial and distortion of their past history of aggression.
This is little short of rubbing salt on the wounds of the Asians who suffered immeasurable misfortune and disasters due to the Japanese imperialists as it is a challenge to justice and human conscience and a move to reverse the trend of history.
The Japanese reactionaries' reckless remarks terming the above-said tribunal an "illegal one" are nothing but an open reinvasion agitation by those steeped in the militarist idea of aggression to the marrow of their bones. By negating the criminal nature of the past war of aggression, painting the war criminals as "patriotic martyrs" and paying tribute to them the reactionaries seek to instill the militarist idea of aggression into the Japanese and lay the ideological and political foundation for reinvasion.
The aggressive nature of Japanese militarism still remains unchanged. Japan has sped up the military preparations for reinvasion for the last several decades since its defeat and thus emerged a dangerous war force.
It is the deliberate and premeditated moves for reinvasion for the Japanese reactionaries to have sparked territorial disputes with their neighboring countries including their claim to Tok Islet, part of the inviolable territory of Korea.
They would be well advised to properly understand the highly vigilant Asians and discontinue their reckless moves for reinvasion.
U.S. Troops' Killing of Civilians Assailed
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the North Headquarters of the Nationwide Special Committee for Probing the Truth behind the GIs' Massacres Friday released a press statement denouncing the U.S. imperialist aggressors who ignited a war of aggression to destroy the young DPRK and realize their ambition for world domination and killed Koreans in the most brutal manner in the 1950s.
It was disclosed once again recently that more than 30 fighters of the U.S. Air Force indiscriminately dropped bombs with strong destructive power over the area of Sansong-ri in Ryechon County, North Kyongsang Province, killing at least 130 inhabitants on January 19, 1951, according to the scorched earth operation plan worked out by the commander of the 10th Army Corps of the U.S. forces during the last Korean War.
Noting that the massacre of civilians was not just "misjudged bombing" but an organized and premeditated killing of Koreans as was the case with the massacre in Rogun-ri, the spokesman went on:
The U.S. imperialists have neither admitted the massacre of Koreans nor apologized nor compensated for it though more than half a century has passed since then.
On the contrary, the U.S. has perpetrated ceaseless monstrous killings and outrages against Koreans, behaving as a ruler and master enjoying extraterritorial rights in south Korea. It is working hard to provoke a new war in a bid to impose a nuclear disaster upon the Korean nation.
This is an intolerable mockery of and challenge to the Korean nation and a blatant affront to justice and conscience.
Neither advice nor reasoning would work on an aggressor or a burglar. There should be only a strong counter-action to defend national dignity and sovereignty.
Any massacre has become the target of international severe punishment and, accordingly, the last group of Nazi war criminals who had remained in hiding are now judged by human conscience. It is, therefore, a shame and disgrace to the Koreans if they allow the U.S. imperialists to go scot-free as they have committed atrocities more monstrous than what those criminals had perpetrated.
The south Korean people from all walks of life should turn out in the dynamic anti-U.S. struggle to force the U.S. imperialists to pay for all the thrice-cursed crimes committed against the Korean nation and drive their aggressor forces, the source of a nuclear war and its misfortune and pain, out of south Korea under the uplifted slogan "Let us not allow the U.S. forces' presence in south Korea to go beyond 60 years."

Research Successes in Koryo Medicine
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The Academy of Koryo Medical Science of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has recently gained successes in treating cases suffering from nocturia, polyneuritis, disk extrusion and paraplegia with traditional Koryo medicine.
A few applications of acupuncture are enough to completely cure nocturia, which is considered to be one of the serious infantile diseases.
This therapy is available to those at puberty who have suffered from the disease from childhood and to polyneuritis patients.
The academy has made a high-tech apparatus predicting cerebral apoplexy. It collects information from 12 acupuncture regions in arms and legs and predicts which part of the body would be affected by cerebral apoplexy and what sort of paralysis would come.
It has also made an injection with leaves of Eucommia ulmoides for disk extrusion and paraplegia.
The method of manual treatment such as massage, finger-pressure and joint movement, developed by the academy, cures patients suffering from disk extrusion, shoulder arthritis, cerebral apoplexy, sciatica, gastroptosis, etc.
Cultural and Public Buildings Built in Mt. Paektu Area
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- Many cultural and public buildings, as well as dwelling houses, have been constructed in the Mt. Paektu area in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The members of the national Party information workers' shock brigade have constructed or reconstructed about 210 cultural and public buildings with a total floor space of 255,700 square meters.
The construction of public buildings including Samjiyon County Cultural Center, Samjiyon Hotel No.1, Rimyongsu People's Hospital and Pegaebong Noodle House provides convenience to the local people and visitors to revolutionary battle sites and historic places.
The Paektu Museum has been erected in the shape of Mt. Paektu in the township of Samjiyon County.
It, with a total floor space of about 2,100 square meters, consists of a general hall, a panorama of revolutionary battle sites and historic places in the Mt. Paektu area, a room for studying revolutionary traditions and rooms for introducing the secret camp in Mt. Paektu, Lake Chon on Mt. Paektu, Lake Samji, Rimyongsu, Taehongdan and Mubong areas. The museum helps visitors study the revolutionary traditions.
The Chonji Health Complex is furnished with all necessary service facilities.
The Samjiyon Schoolchildren's Palace with a total floor space of over 7,680 square meters has the main building, a theatre, a gymnasium and over 30 rooms including computer, physics, vocal music and Taekwon-Do exercising rooms.
A winter sports village has been constructed to suit the climate of the Mt. Paektu area where it is cold and snows heavily in winter.
An ice hockey field, ice rink, ski-run, alpine skiing ground, tourist skiing course and jumping hill have appeared around Pegae Peak about 1,600 meters above the sea level.
Accessory buildings including lodging for athletes, extracurricular sports school and resting house for skiers and cableway with chairs going up to the top of Pegae Peak have also been built in the village.
DPRK Government Economic Delegation Comes Back
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The DPRK government economic delegation headed by Minister of Foreign Trade Rim Kyong Man returned home today after winding up its visits to Uganda, Kenya, Guinea and Mali.
The delegation also visited Yemen.
DPRK Hit by Rainstorm
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- Different areas of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea were hit by a strong wind and disastrous rainstorm.
It rained heavily in Pyongyang, North and South Phyongan, North and South Hwanghae and South Hamgyong Provinces between 15:00 on June 30 and 06:00 on July 1.
The precipitation in the West Coast areas recorded 32 millimeters in Haeju, South Hwanghae Province, at minimum and 165 millimeters in Maengsan, South Phyongan Province, at maximum.
The rainfall was above 100 millimeters in Tokchon, Pukchang and Yodok, 71 in Kaesong and 60 in Hwangju.
For three hours from 18:00 on Thursday, it rained 115 millimeters in Tokchon, 110 in Maengsan, 88 in Pukchang, 78 in Thaechon , 48 in Pyongyang, 36 in Kusong and Jongju and 60 in Kumya, South Hamgyong Province.
The torrential rain coupled with a strong wind (more than 10 meters per second) has brought a severe damage to various economic sectors and people. The damage was serious as there was a heavy rain at night.
Officials of national and local institutions and people in the afflicted areas are now turning out in efforts to recover from the damage and investigate its correct amount.

Pyongyang, el primero de julio (ATCC) -- Recientemente, al intervenir en el comite de representantes pertenecientes al Partido Democratico Liberal de Japon, Masahiro Morioka, oficial ejecutivo del Ministerio de Trabajo y Bienestar Publico, dijo que el juicio llevado a cabo por el Tribunal Militar Internacional para el Extremo Oriente fue "ilegal porque se desarrollo cuando Japon estaba ocupado" y por tanto, los criminales de guerra de primera categoria "no son culpables". En ese sentido, abogo abiertamente por la visita al santuario Yasukuni del mandatario y otros politicos de Japon.
Con respecto a esto, el diario Rodong Sinmun publico en su edicion del dia primero un articulo individual que senala como sigue:
En aquel proceso, en virtud de los articulos del entonces derecho internacional fueron enjuiciados los crimenes de guerra de los imperialistas japoneses, provocadores de la Guerra del Pacifico, y se adoptaron merecidas medidas de castigo.
Sin embargo, hoy en dia, los reaccionarios japoneses cometen esa canallada de calificarlo de "ilegal" al cabo de negar y tergiversar la historia de agresion del pasado. Esto deviene un insulto a la justicia y conciencia de la humanidad y un acto anacronico encaminado a refluir la corriente de la historia. Por lo tanto, resulta un doble crimen igual a tocar la adolorida herida espiritual de los pueblos asiaticos que sufrieron indecibles desgracias y sufrimientos por culpa de los imperialistas japoneses.
Al mismo tiempo, significa abierta agitacion a una nueva guerra de quienes tienen hasta en sus tuetanos la idea de agresion militarista. Estos tipejos niegan el caracter criminal de la guerra de agresion del pasado y convierten a los criminales de guerra en los "martires patrioticos" para inculcar en los habitantes japoneses la idea de agresion militarista y asentar el cimiento ideo-politico para la nueva agresion.
Hasta en la actualidad, no hubo ni un apice de cambios en la agresividad de los militaristas nipones. Pues, durante varios decenios despues de su derrota en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, ellos dieron acicate a sus preparativos militares para la nueva agresion y por consiguiente, el pais-isla emergio como una peligrosa fuerza belica.
En el marco de tales maniobras premeditadas, insisten en el "derecho de posesion de la isla Tok", una parte legitima del territorio coreano, y provocan litigios con otros paises por el territorio.
Los reaccionarios japoneses deben sentir la aguda vigilancia puesta en si mismos por los pueblos asiaticos y desistir de sus imprudentes maniobras para la nueva agresion.
