U.S. Hostile Policy toward DPRK Denounced in Switzerland

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- The Swiss Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification made public a statement on Nov. 15 denouncing the U.S. imperialists' hostile policy toward the DPRK. It accused the Bush administration of having pursued the aggressive hostile policy toward the DPRK in a bid to isolate and stifle the country. Recalling the fact that the U.S. listed the DPRK as part of an "axis of evil" and openly threatened it with a preemptive nuclear attack, the statement noted:
The present U.S. administration deliberately scuttled the DPRK-U.S. dialogue which was started by the Clinton administration with caution and the progress to normalize the relations with the DPRK and has pursued the policy to isolate and stifle the DPRK with fanatic bitterness.
The DPRK is ready to stand in all-out confrontation with the U.S.
The U.S. is bound to suffer a defeat in face of all Korean people who have risen up to implement the Songun policy pursued by leader Kim Jong Il, the statement stressed.

S. Korean Reactionaries Denounced in U.S.

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- John Paul Cupp, chairman of the U.S. Solidarity Committee Supporting the Struggle of the National Democratic Front of South Korea and South Korean People, on Nov. 14 posted an article titled "Study of the Juche idea used as a pretext for suppressing trade unions" on its Internet homepage in which he denounced the south Korean reactionaries for working hard to keep the "National Security Law" (NSL) in south Korea. In the article he wrote that the NSL in south Korea is painted as a law with democratic and national tendency, but it is, in fact, aimed at branding those who support the idea of the DPRK and even those who have a progressive and nationalist way of thinking as "followers of the Juche idea" and suppressing them on that charge. He continued:
The reactionaries are clinging to this law because they are afraid of the independent idea of the popular masses. They are resorting to the crackdown in a bid to cover up their stand of opposing reunification, justify the U.S. forces' presence and domination and send young people to the battlefield in a foreign country for useless sacrifices. The draconic nature of the NSL can never be concealed.

WPK's Policy and Stand Supported by Turkish Party Leader

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- The Workers' Party of Turkey (WPT) fully supports all the policies and stand maintained by the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) in the efforts to build a great prosperous powerful nation, achieve the reunification of the country and in the field of external relations. Dogu Ferincek, chairman of the Central Committee of the WPT, said this when meeting with Kim Ha Dong, DPRK ambassador e.p. to Turkey, on Nov. 9.
The victories and achievements gained by the WPK in all fields as the vanguard in the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle despite the tensest situation under the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il give great inspiration and hope to the WPT and other progressive forces of the world, he stressed.

Lifting of Ban on Operation of Internet Sites and Total Abolition of NSL Demanded

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- The Reunification Solidarity and Jinbo Network in south Korea jointly made public a protest letter demanding the government lift the ban on the operation of Internet sites and totally abolish the "National Security Law" (NSL) on Nov. 19, according to a news report. The letter branded the government's ban on the operation of Internet sites listed as "pro-north sites" as the action to suppress the freedom of expression by invoking the most evil article of the NSL and an anti-reunification action as it goes against the demand of the present times for south-north reconciliation.
The letter went on: The government is playing into the hands of the ultra-right conservative forces. It should build a solid groundwork for the abolition of the NSL and south-north reconciliation.
The government should positively opt for lifting the anti-reunification ban on the operation of Internet sites and totally repealing the NSL, mindful that it must deal with all the issues in favour of national reunification.

Total Withdrawal of U.S. Forces Urged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Anti-U.S., Anti-War Solidarity Society for Withdrawal of U.S. Forces reportedly held a "rally to denounce the verdict of not guilty for those GIs who killed Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son and urge the total withdrawal of the U.S. forces" in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul on Nov. 20. Kwon O Chang, co-representative of the society, in his speech said that the children in their teens were run over by the U.S. forces' armored car. This tragic reality is attributable to the south Korea-U.S. "alliance," which forces slavish submission upon south Korea, he added.
Ri Kyu Jae, vice-chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon), said in order to vent the slain young girls' spite it is necessary to build an independent and reunified country in this land free from the U.S. forces. He called for struggling, united close around Pomminryon under the uplifted banner of the June 15 joint declaration.
Other speakers at the rally stressed that the anti-U.S. candlelights raised high by people in Kwanghwamun in protest against the verdict of not guilty for the Yankee murderers two years ago remain flaring up still today. They called for making 2005 a year of withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea without fail.
At the end of the rally the participants marched towards the "National Assembly" building.

Massive Candlelight Rally in Seoul

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- The People's Solidarity for the Abolition of the "National Security Law" (NSL), the People's Action for Press Reform, the Headquarters of the People's Movement for a Democratic Amendment of the Private School Law and an End to the Corrupt History, the All People's Committee for a Correct Liquidation of the Past and other civic and public organizations of south Korea held a massive candlelight rally demanding of the government authorities four reforms in front of the National Assembly building in Youido, Seoul, on Nov. 20, according to a press report. Kwon O Hon, chairman of the Society for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience under the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy, said in his speech that the abolition of the NSL was an undertaking to sweep away the leftovers of the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists and flunkeyist treachery. We must no more leave alone the more than 50 year-old NSL, he stressed.
Kim Yong Ho, permanent co-representative of the People's Action for Press Reform, referred to the rowdyism of the conservative media and called for a vigorous struggle for the passage of the bill on four reforms through the National Assembly. "Social reforms are unthinkable apart from a press reform," he said.
Ri I Hwa, chairperson of the All People's Committee for a Correct Liquidation of the Past, emphasized the importance of a solidarity struggle for reforms, demanding that the Uri Party push through the bill on four reforms and the Grand National Party come out for reforms.
A resolution was read out at the rally.
After the rally the participants formed columns of marchers and headed for the National Assembly building.
The civic and public organizations decided to set the first week of December as a period of an all-out struggle with the candlelight rally that day as a starting point and launch into a full-scale struggle vis-a-vis the National Assembly for the total repeal of the evil law and realization of four reforms.

Working Contact among Representatives of Koreans in North, South and Overseas

Mt. Kumgang, November 24 (KCNA) -- A working-level contact among representatives of Koreans in the north, the south and overseas took place in Mt. Kumgang resort between Nov. 23 and 24. It was attended by representatives of Koreans from all walks of life in the north, the south and overseas and those of various reunification movement bodies.
At the contact they exchanged the successes and experience gained in this year's patriotic reunification movement under the uplifted banner of the June 15 joint declaration and discussed the future action plan and measures to implement it.
They discussed the issue of encouraging all the fellow countrymen in the north, the south and overseas to wage a more dynamic movement for national reunification, united close in the idea of "By our nation itself" and issued the following joint press release:
First, the organizations of different circles in the north and the south of Korea and overseas set the significant next year, the 5th anniversary of the joint declaration and the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Korea, as the year of independent reunification and decided to invigorate the reunification movement to oppose a war and bring earlier the peace and reunification of the country by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation and implement the joint declaration, a landmark of reunification common to the nation.
Second, they decided to achieve solidarity and unity with all bodies and figures inside and outside Korea supporting the joint declaration and hold a national reunification function in Pyongyang to mark the fifth anniversary of the joint declaration and have an August 15 reunification function in the south on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Korea with a view to strengthening the cooperation among Koreans.
Third, they also decided to organize the "Joint Function Preparatory Committee of Koreans in the North, the South and Overseas for the Implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration" (the North, South and Overseas Preparatory Committee for Joint Function in short) at an appropriate time next year and create regional preparatory committees in the north, the south and abroad within this year as an immediate task in order to discuss wide-ranging issues related to the future reunification movement and reunification events common to the nation and push ahead with them.

S. Korean Authorities' Action to Cut Off Internet Site Connections under Fire

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- An action taken by south Korea to cut off Internet site connections with the north is an act of going against the era heading for national reconciliation, unity and reunification after the publication of the June 15 joint declaration and a crime against the nation as it is designed to blindfold those south Koreans who wish to know well about the north and build confidence with it and stop their ears, says Rodong Sinmun Thursday in a signed commentary. As for those Internet homepages which the south Korean authorities have rendered disconnected, they have only disseminated the idea of national independence accepted by all Koreans and dealt with the matters related to reconciliation, unity and independent reunification and, therefore, there is nothing to pose any problem, the commentary says, and goes on:
The action taken by the south Korean authorities against all Internet homepages related to the north goes to clearly prove that they have not yet gotten rid of an anachronistic conception of confrontation, the practice of negating and antagonizing whatever from the north for no reason. The on-going fuss indicates that the "south-north reconciliation and cooperation" much touted by the "government for people" in south Korea is nothing but sheer hypocrisy.
The inter-Korean relations which have hit low will not be able to escape a total collapse if the south Korean authorities do not stop their acts against the nation and reunification which go against the trend of the times. The authorities are well advised to do soul-searching before talking about the "opening" of the north and immediately stop cutting off the above-said Internet site connections.

Respect for Sovereignty, Basic Requisite to Building New World

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) - Rodong Sinmun Thursday in a signed article says respect for sovereignty is a basic requisite to the building of a peaceful new world and the foundation of social development, adding: With their sovereignty trampled upon, a people cannot develop the national economy and culture, to say nothing of their political freedom and exercise of democratic rights. Respect for ideology, system, national tradition and culture is one of the most important matters in defending sovereignty and establishing a peaceful order in the world.
It is impossible to integrate the world with one ideology, system and culture. If one sought that, it would give rise to acute ideological and institutional discord and political and cultural way of life upon other countries and peoples and refrain from such acts as encroaching upon or wresting other countries' interests by force.
All the countries and nations are equal and have the right to exercise their sovereignty in dealing with international issues. A big and developed country has no right to issue orders to and rule small and less developed countries.
The size of countries and the level of their development may show their geographical conception and degree of civilization, but cannot be a yardstick of grading them in their relations or defining their master-servant relationship. Only when all the countries and nations develop the state relations on the principle of equality and mutual benefit can the relations between them be closer, democratic and friendly and the world be peaceful.
Today the world peace order is gravely disturbed because the imperialist power disregard and violate the publicly recognized principles and norms which the countries should observe in their relations.
The United States is trying to behave as it pleases in the international arena, relying on its economic potentials and military power. It categorically brands the countries which refuse to accept its demand or resist it as bad ones and attempts to get rid of them with strength, pressurizing and threatening them. Its unilateral policy is linked to military aggression and state terrorism against other countries to disturb and destroy peace and stability and drive the world to confusion and instability.
It is impossible to achieve world peace and stability and let people live in a peaceful world without a fight against the U.S. moves to violate and obliterate others' sovereignty.
