Committee to Remember Kim Il Sung Inaugurated in Austria

    Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The Austrian Committee to Remember President Kim Il Sung was inaugurated in Vienna on June 22. Max Verworner, chairman of the Society for the Promotion of the Relations between Austria and the DPRK, was elected chairman of the committee. The committee decided to organize in cities and local areas such functions as film show, book and photo exhibition and release of bulletin to widely introduce the exploits of the President.


Ugandan Committee to Remember Kim Il Sung Formed

    Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The Ugandan Committee to Remember President Kim Il Sung was formed with due ceremony in Kampala on June 23. At the ceremony the minister of State in Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment of Uganda was elected chairman of the committee.
    The chairman said that Kim Il Sung was a great leader who performed immortal exploits for humankind and the revolutionary cause of Juche started by him has been successfully carried forward under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il. He called for organizing significant functions to mark the 10th anniversary of the President's demise.
    A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the ceremony.


Over 180 Cases of U.S. Aerial Espionage in June

    Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists committed more than 180 cases of aerial espionage against the DPRK in June by mobilizing strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes with different missions, according to military sources. At least 30 espionage flights were made by U-2, RC-135, E-3 and EP-3 in June.
    The reconnaissance planes such as RC-12, RC-7B and RF-4C made shuttle flights in the sky over areas along the Military Demarcation Line to spy on the forefront and coastal areas of the DPRK. The number of the reconnaissance planes involved reached 9 on June 2 and 8 on June 3, 15, 21 and 25 each.
    These cases of aerial espionage indicate that the U.S. is always watching for a chance to make a surprise attack on the DPRK behind the curtain of dialogue as they were perpetrated at a time when it was massively shipping ultra-modern military equipment into south Korea and relocating its forces there.


History of Kim Jong Il's Leadership of WPK Praised

    Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- A joint seminar of political parties and organizations was held in Nepal on June 18 to mark the 40th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. At the seminar the brief history of Kim Jong Il's revolutionary activities was introduced, to be followed by speeches.
    Manik Lal Shrestha, chairman of the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association, said the history of his leadership of the WPK is historical annals in which a great turn was effected in the Korean revolution and a history of the greatest statesman in the world, adding that the cornerstone of Songun politics was laid in the course of his 40 year-long leadership of the party. C. P. Mainali, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), said it is because the WPK is guided by the Songun policy of Kim Jong Il that the imperialists are so much afraid of the DPRK.
    Amik Sherchan, president of the Central Committee of the People's Front of Nepal, noted that it is the DPRK where no interference and moves of imperialism work at all, stressing it owes this to Kim Jong Il who has built up the WPK and the Korean People's Army into the mightiest party and strongest army.
    Badri Prasad Mandal, chairman of the Nepali Sadbhavna Party, in a speech said he has never seen such a great man and statesman as Kim Jong Il, adding: The politicians should learn from him.
    A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the seminar.
    Meanwhile, a friendly meeting was held and a lecture was given in Uganda and Libya on June 15 and 18 with the participation of political and social figures and students.


North-South Military Working Talks Held

    Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The north-south military working talks were held in Phaju of south Korea on June 29 and 30 for the first-phase review of the implementation of the appendix to the "agreement on the prevention of accidental conflicts in the West Sea, stop to the propaganda in areas along the Military Demarcation Line and the removal of propaganda means" which was adopted at the second round of the North-South General-level Military Talks. Present there were the military working delegation of the north side led by Senior Colonel Yu Yong Chol of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces and the military working delegation of the south side led by Col. Mun Song Muk of the Defence Ministry.
    The head of the north side's delegation said that both sides have taken a big stride forward in the implementation of the first phase task to stop the propaganda in areas along the MDL and remove its means in a matter of little over half a month as stipulated in the agreement.
    According to him, both sides completely stopped all propaganda activities against the other side in all areas along the MDL as of 0:00 on June 15, the fourth anniversary of the publication of the historic north-south joint declaration, and completed in the main since June 16 the work to remove on a trial basis propaganda means in the lower reaches of the River Han and along the western coastal areas and on islands, to say nothing of the section between MDL marker No. 0001 and 0100 which includes Panmunjom and west coastal areas under the control of the north and the south.
    In this period the north side has sincerely implemented the agreed points in the agreement in a responsible manner and the south side, too, has completely removed 18 batches of loudspeakers, 18 slogan boards and posters and four electronic displays included in the list of those to be removed at the first phase.
    The head of the north side's delegation stressed that it is the first historic event in the more than half a century long history of division that both sides have completely stopped propaganda activities at a date agreed upon and finished in the main the first phase task to remove propaganda means despite unfavorable climatic and working conditions in sensitive areas along the MDL.
    All these achievements made by the armies of both sides by concerted efforts are one more precious fruition of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, a permanent landmark of independent and peaceful reunification and great national unity, he said.
    At the talks both sides declared at home and abroad that the first-phase project to remove propaganda means in areas along the MDL has been successfully completed in the main. They agreed to commence the second-phase project for the same purpose after reaching an agreement at the earliest possible date in spite of the fact that there cropped up some differences at the negotiations as the project was the first of its kind in history.


Iranian Diplomats Help Korean Farmers

    Sinchon, June 30 (KCNA) -- Ambassador Jalaleddin Namini Mianji and staff members of the Iranian embassy here helped farmers of the Korea-Iran Friendship Saenal Co-op Farm in Sinchon County, South Hwanghae Province, in weeding in a bean field on Wednesday. During break they talked to farmers in a friendly atmosphere.
    The ambassador said that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries are daily growing stronger, wishing the farmers success this year.
    They handed aid materials to the farm.


Site for Model Factory in Kaesong Industrial Zone Completed

    Kaesong, June 30 (KCNA) -- A ceremony for the completion of the site for a model factory in the Kaesong Industrial Zone was held on the spot Wednesday on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the ground-breaking ceremony of the zone. Present at the ceremony were Choe Yong Gon, vice-minister of Construction and Building Materials Industries who is chairman of the north side to the North-South Committee for the Promotion of Economic Cooperation, officials concerned and those concerned with the construction of the zone.
    Present there from the south side were Jo Kon Sik, vice- minister of Unification, Kim Kwang Rim, vice-minister of Finance and Economy who is chairman of the south side to the South-North Committee for the Promotion of Economic Cooperation, and those concerned of the enterprises involved in the development of the zone.
    The participants heard a report on the completion of the site from the south side and speeches made by Kim Jin Ho, president of the Land Company, and Kim Yun Gyu, president of Hyundai Asan.
    They said successful progress of the work to construct the Kaesong Industrial Zone would make it possible to fully demonstrate to the world the south-north economic development and the advantages of the Korean nation.
    Then followed congratulatory speeches.
    A person concerned from the north side said the past one year since the ground-breaking ceremony of the zone proved that if the Koreans pool wisdom and energies in the idea of "By our nation itself", they can more successfully turn the zone into an industrial zone of world level and into one with national characteristics in a short span of time.
    He expressed expectation and belief that the businessmen and enterprises and officials concerned of the north and the south would complete the construction of the zone as early as possible, well aware of the noble mission they have assumed before history and nation, and thus realize the desire of all the Koreans for national reconciliation, cooperation and reunification without fail.
    Jo Kon Sik said against the backdrop of the daily improving south-north relations the south and the north will share joy at production, working hard together and the opening of the reconnected road and rail links would make it possible to reenergize the development of the zone. He called on the south and the north to pool efforts to meet the desire of all the Koreans for peace and prosperity of this land and the expectation of the international community.
    At the end of the speeches representatives of the north and the south cut the tape announcing the completion of the site for the model factory.
    Meanwhile, members of the south side after participating in the ceremony looked round historical sites in Kaesong including the Koryo Museum and Sonjuk Bridge.


Russian Dance Company Performs at KPA Unit

    Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The visiting State Academic Moiseyev Folk Dance Company of Russia gave a performance at a unit of the Korean People's Army on June 30. It was appreciated by the commanding officers of the unit and KPA soldiers.
    The company put on the stage its masterpiece "Summer," the dance "Guerrillas" which had left deep impressions on the Korean people in several performances, folk dances of various countries and a Korean dance.
    The performers vividly represented the optimistic life, national emotion and detailed aspects of life of the Russian people and different nations of the world through the performance full of gracious and impassioned rhythms and well-knit artistic skill.
    The performance closed with a chorus of "Song of Friendship" newly created by the dance company.

"Resolution on Stopping and Reexamining Troop Dispatch" Introduced

    Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- 50 south Korean ruling and opposition assemblymen reportedly laid "a resolution on stopping and reexamining troop dispatch" before the National Assembly on June 23. They said in the resolution: "Our young people must not be sent to Iraq under the hollow slogan of peaceful reconstruction to which we ourselves do not agree".
    The resolution urged the authorities to stop promoting business concerning additional troop dispatch and carry out investigation as to the existence of mass destruction weapons which the U.S. had put forward as the pretext for the Iraqi war and submit the result to the National Assembly. They also held that the ground for troop dispatch should be totally reexamined.
    The "group of assemblymen" of the Democratic Workers' Party on the next day separately tendered a "resolution urging the withdrawal of the Sohui and Jema Units".
    Meanwhile, on June 25, a rally urging the withdrawal of the troop dispatch decision was held in front of Kwanghwamun in Seoul by the People's Action against Troop Dispatch and the Reunification Solidarity.


Friday Rally Held in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The 29th Friday rally for defending peace against the U.S. and war was reportedly held in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul on June 25. Participating in the rally were the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration, the Solidarity of Youth and Students for Implementing the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration, the Seoul Alliance for Democracy and National Reunification and others.
    The speakers bitterly denounced the brigandish pressure of the U.S. on the south Korean authorities to send troops to Iraq and the "government's" decision on troop dispatch, which would drive defenseless people to death, yielding to the pressure of the U.S.
    The resolution read out at the rally said the unjustifiable pressure of the U.S. for troop dispatch foretold the second and the third cases of Kim Son Il.
    Those who cried out for "south Korea-U.S. alliance" allegedly for "national interests" should clearly understand what the results of the "alliance" are, said the resolution, urging the "government" to immediately renounce the treacherous "south Korea-U.S. alliance" designed to hurl the Korean people into death.
    The Korean people will never yield to the brigandish U.S. pressure for troop dispatch, the resolution declared, and said: Let us have the decision on troop dispatch retracted without fail with united strength.


Thorough Implementation of Kim Il Sung's Last Instructions Called for

    Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- Papers Thursday editorially say that people's profound veneration for President Kim Il Sung is growing stronger as the days go by and that a steady continuity is given to his history on this land. Rodong Sinmun says that it is an unshakable faith and will of all the servicepersons of the People's Army and the people of the DPRK to thoroughly implement his last instructions and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche as befitting his eternal soldiers and disciples.
    It is a bounden duty and obligation of the army and the people to thoroughly implement President's last instructions and eternally glorify their honor as his revolutionary soldiers, the paper says, and continues:

Ground-breaking Ceremony of Construction of Taean Friendship Glass Factory Held

    Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The Taean Friendship Glass Factory, a donation to the DPRK from the government of the People's Republic of China, will rise. The factory with a total area of 293,000 square meters will be built at the highest level of modernization.
    It will be constructed under the deep care of leader Kim Jong Il and the new collective leadership of China with Hu Jintao as general secretary. It will stand as one of the biggest symbols of the DPRK-China friendship as it will greatly contribute to the socialist construction and the improvement of the standard of people's living in the DPRK.
    The ground-breaking ceremony of the factory was held on the spot on Thursday.
    Present at the ceremony were Pak Pong Ju, premier of the DPRK Cabinet, Han Song Ryong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Jo Tae Ha, chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial People's Committee, officials of ministries and national institutions, officials concerned and builders.
    Also present there were the Chinese government economic and trade delegation led by Chen Jian, assistant to the minister of Commerce of China, Chinese Ambassador e.p. to the DPRK Wu Donghe, staff members of the embassy and Chinese guests.
    Jo Yun Hui, minister of Construction and Building-Materials Industries, addressing the ceremony, extended greatest thanks to Kim Jong Il who made sure with deep concern that a ground-breaking ceremony was held with success to make the factory, a donation from the government of the PRC, rise as a symbol of Korea-China friendship. The minister also expressed deep thanks to the new collective leadership of China with Hu Jintao as general secretary and its government for donating the factory.
    He recalled the fact that the Chinese government decided to donate a modern glass factory to the DPRK on the occasion of the Korean visit by the Chinese state delegation led by Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, in October last year.     Korea and China are neighbors sharing the same mountain and river. The two countries have built socialism supporting and cooperating with each other and the DPRK will as ever do every effort to boost the traditional Korea-China friendship alongside the fraternal Chinese people.

    Pyongyang, el primero de julio (ATCC) -- En el municipio de Sungho de esta capital se encuentra el Instituto de Piscicultura fundado el 20 de febrero del 35 (1946) de la Era Juche. El instituto logra exitos en la investigacion de peces de agua dulce.
    En los ultimos dias crio con metodo tecnologico las mejores nuevas variedades de peces de agua dulce.
    Establecio la tecnica de creacion del siluro de 3n y de conversion sexual.
    Durante mas de 50 anos pasados logro exitos en la investigacion del metodo de la reproduccion artificial y cria industrial de peces de decenas de variedades, el estudio sobre la nueva variedad de Carassius auratus y su reproduccion y la generacion de los microorganismos en los excrementos de animales domesticos, y soluciono muchos problemas, entre otros, la cria tridimensional de peces en los lagos y presas, rios y riachuelos, el incentivo por el desove, proteccion del recurso hidraulico y ampliacion de las variedades de peces en el rio Taedong.
    Realizo mas de 10 informaciones sobre los exitos cientificos en los seminarios y simposios internacionales del ramo efectuados en varios paises del mundo y dio asistencia tecnica a mas de 10 paises en particular a Cuba, Madagascar y Siria.
    El instituto tiene solidas bases materiales y tecnicas tales como laboratorios, lagunas piloto, centros de analisis, laboratorios de variedades originales, plantas de pececillos y salas de esquemas de peces de agua dulce.
    Dispone de cerca de 300 equipos de prueba de 146 variedades y 120 instrumentos de analisis, entre otros, el microscopio estereoscopico y camara submarina.
