He said that the two countries could continue boosting the friendly relations despite the complicated situation thanks to General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Jong Il and Laotian President Khamtay Siphandone.
He extended thanks to the Party and government of the DPRK for rendering precious material aid to Laos during its difficult times and supporting the Laotian revolutionary cause.
He wished Kim Jong Il greater success in his leadership over the Party, the state and the army of the DPRK and in the work to defend the country and achieve national prosperity and the country's reunification.

Meetings Held to Vow Revenge

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- A meeting of members of the Korean Democratic Women's Union was held at the chestnut valley in Wonam-ri, Sinchon County, South Hwanghae Province Thursday to vow revenge on the occasion of the "day of the struggle against the U.S. imperialists (June 25)". A similar meeting of school youth and children was held in front of the monument to the sinking of the U.S. imperialist aggression ship "General Sherman" in Pyongyang, Reporters and speakers at the meetings recalled that the U.S. imperialists began stretching their tentacles of aggression to Korea with the intrusion of their aggression ship "General Sherman" into Korea. The Korean war provoked by them was the most brigandish war of aggression and a war of most hideous massacre of people in the world history of war, they added, and continued:
The south Korean people including women have undergone immeasurable calamities and sufferings. Women Yun Kum I and Jon Ji Na were murdered gruesomely and two middle school girls were killed by an armored car. They met such tragic deaths due to the U.S. imperialist murderers, who have lorded it over south Korea for over half a century, watching for a chance to start a war of aggression.
Genuine peace can not be expected as long as the U.S. imperialists present in south Korea. They are the sworn enemy of the Korean people upon whom they should take revenge down through generations as he has brought all sorts of tragedies and misfortunes to them.
If the U.S. imperialists and their stooges intrude even an inch of the airspace, land and seas of the inviolable country, the women, school youth and children alongside the Korean People's Army will turn out to wipe out all the aggressors and force them to pay for the blood shed by the Korean people.
Poems "Angry Shouts" and "No Mercy to the U.S. Imperialists, Wolves!" were recited at the meetings.

This was a historic event of enormous significance in the development of the bilateral relations, he added, and went on:
The Laotian people have waged a vigorous struggle to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, national dignity and honor and achieve the country's prosperity, thwarting the interference and obstructions of the imperialists.
Under the leadership of President Khamtay Siphandone the Laotian people are working energetically to improve the material and cultural life of the people by speeding up the modernization and industrialization of the country.
Laotian Ambassador e.p. to the DPRK Chanpheng Sihaphom in his speech said Laos and the DPRK, while developing their friendly and cooperative relations, have made a sizable contribution to world peace and the accomplishment of the cause of global independence.
After the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration provided by the supreme leader Kim Jong Il a lot of successes have been recorded in the work to accomplish the cause of Korea's reunification, he noted.
He expressed his firm belief that under Kim Jong Il's wise leadership the Korean people would surely achieve the country's reunification, decisively frustrating the imperialists' moves.

U.S. Branded as Provoker of Korean War

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Friday carries an article titled "U.S. imperialists are robber-like provoker of Korean war." The article cites facts to disclose that the U.S. imperialists egged traitor Syngman Rhee on to launch an all-out surprise armed invasion of the northern half of Korea at the dawn of June 25, 1950. The article says:
The U.S. imperialists finally rounded off preparations for the Korean war by spring in 1950. In early April 1950 notorious warmonger Dulles was assigned a duty to finally confirm the preparations for the war and issue an instruction to start the war.
So he inspected areas along the 38th parallel in south Korea to examine the deployment of the south Korean army and the combat readiness of weapons and combat technical equipment and even that of police. He examined the military strategy plan for "northern expedition" on the spot. It was June 18 that he ordered Syngman Rhee to start the war.
On June 19 Dulles at an opening session of the "National Assembly" of south Korea blustered that it goes without saying that south Korea would win when it mounts an attack and it might count on the U.S. for everything that might crop up after the outbreak of the war.
He sponsored the four-party talks involving McArthur, Johnson, Bradley and himself in Tokyo on June 22. It was the final secret operational meeting to decide on the way and procedure of starting the war and the D-day.
The military proposals made at the talks were later approved at the joint meeting of the then U.S. President, Truman, and bosses of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Defense and State Departments in Blair House in Washington and ratified by Truman, chieftain of war.
After making such thorough-going preparations the U.S. imperialists and the Syngman Rhee clique finally launched an all-out armed invasion against the northern half of Korea in all areas along the 38th parallel at the dawn of June 25, 1950 without the declaration of a war.
If the U.S. imperialists ignite the second Korean war at any cost oblivious of the lesson of the history, they will sustain a bitterer defeat, shame and death than what they suffered in the last Korean war.

Papers Call for Heightened Mettle in Anti-U.S. Confrontation

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Papers Friday come out with editorials on the lapse of 54 years after the U.S. imperialists provoked a war of aggression against the DPRK on June 25, 1950, calling for fully displaying the dignity of the nation and the mettle of sure victory in anti-U.S. confrontation. Rodong Sinmun in its editorial says:
In the grim days when the destiny of the fatherland and the nation was at stake the army and people of the DPRK turned out like a giant in the righteous war and fought a death-defying fight to destroy the enemy under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and defeated the U.S. imperialists and honorably defended the dignity of the nation, the sovereignty of the country and the achievements of the revolution.
The U.S. imperialists have converted south Korea into the biggest military base and nuclear arsenal in the Far East with a systematic arms buildup, wantonly violating the Korean Armistice Agreement, and constantly threatened the DPRK with massive war games and reckless military provocations.
The U.S. imperialists have gone overboard in their maneuvers to unleash a war of aggression against the DPRK.
The Bush administration mapped out even such dangerous war scenarios against the north as the "new operation plan 5026" and is now running about like a headless fly to put them into practice under the pretext of the DPRK-U.S. nuclear issue after designating the DPRK as part of the "axis of evil" and a "target of nuclear preemptive attack."
Facts prove that the U.S. imperialists' design to dominate Korea remains unchanged and they are, indeed, the century-old sworn enemy of the Korean people.
If the U.S. failed to discard the strength-almighty doctrine and shake off war vertigo and started another war in this land, our army and people and whole nation would give vent to the century-old bitter enmity and mercilessly wipe out the aggressors and settle accounts in the confrontation against the U.S.
Minju Joson calls for smashing the aggression and war maneuvers of the U.S. imperialists with the might of Songun and opening the road to reunification.

U.S Urged to Make Bold Decision

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- The United States should drop its unreasonable hostile policy toward the DPRK and withdraw its forces from south Korea at an early date, responding to the just demand of the international community, if it does not want to repeat the miserable defeat it suffered in the 1950s, says Minju Joson in a singed commentary Friday. Recalling that the U.S. 54 years ago hurled one-third of its army, one-fifth of its Air Force and the bulk of its Pacific Fleet into the Korean war and ran the whole gamut of inhuman brutalities such as atrocious massacre and use of germ and chemical weapons against the Korean People, wantonly violating the international law and conventions only to drink a bitter cup of defeat, the commentary goes on:
More than half a century has passed since the gunfire ceased and the Armistice Agreement was signed in Korea. But a durable peace has not been settled on the Korean peninsula and dark clouds of war keep the people in the grip of constant unrest and fear.
The Korean peninsula is left without any legal mechanism to avert the outbreak of another war owing to the hostile policy toward the DPRK and moves to provoke a new war on the part of the U.S. imperialists who systematically scrapped most of the provisions of the Armistice Agreement.
Still more grave is that the U.S. makes no bones about provoking a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula and is pushing ahead with it in a planned manner to seize supremacy over the Asia-Pacific region.
The Bush administration in the first days of its office listed the DPRK as part of the "axis of evil" and designated it as a target of preemptive nuclear attack and has displayed feverish activities to speed up its preparations.
It is entirely thanks to the great Songun politics of the Workers' Party of Korea that peace is preserved on the Korean peninsula under such crucial situation.
It is high time the U.S. made a responsible bold decision.

Greetings to Croatian Prime Minister

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Pak Pong Ju, premier of the DRPK Cabinet, sent a message of greetings to Ivo Sanader, prime minister of the Republic of Croatia, on the occasion of the national day of its country. Expressing the belief that the friendly relations between the two countries would favorably develop in the interests of the two peoples, the message sincerely wished him greater success in his work for the well-being of the Croatian people.
Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun sent a similar message to his Croatian counterpart Miomir Zuzul.

Mass Rally Held in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- A mass rally of Pyongyangites was held here on June 25, the day of struggle against the U.S. imperialists. People from all walks of life in the city marched along the streets, holding aloft placards reading "Let's take revenge upon U.S. imperialist murderers a thousand times!" and "Let's wipe out U.S. imperialist aggressors" and so on. At least a million people thronged Jonsung Square, the plaza of the Tower of the Juche Idea, the plaza in front of the monument to party founding, the plaza of the Arch of Triumph, the plaza of the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace and other plazas in the city in no time.
The mass rally was attended by senior party, state and army officials including Pak Pong Ju, premier of the Cabinet, and chairpersons of the friendly parties.
Present on invitation were diplomatic envoys of different countries, military attaches and other foreign guests.
Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, made a speech.
He said that the U.S. imperialists sought to stifle the DPRK by mobilizing huge troops and lethal military equipment but they could not bring to their knees the army and people of the DPRK who rose up as one in do-or-die resistance to defend the country, rallied close around the party and the leader.
He vehemently denounced the U.S. imperialists, the sworn enemy, for having ceaselessly schemed to stifle the DPRK and provoke a new war for over 50 years after the ceasefire, far from drawing a proper lesson from the bitter defeat they suffered in the last Korean war.
The anti-U.S. and anti-war struggle to frustrate the ever more undisguised moves of the U.S. and its followers to stifle the DPRK and provoke a war is a great sacred war to defend the destiny of not only Koreans in the northern part of the Korean peninsula but all other Koreans and an all-out confrontation between justice and injustice and between the Korean nation standing for peace and the U.S. standing against peace, he said, and went on:
If the U.S. warhawks ignite a war at any cost in the inviolable territory of Korea despite its repeated warnings, the army and people of the DPRK will mobilize all their built up war deterrent force to wipe out the aggressors to the last man and achieve a shining victory in the showdown with the U.S.
The great Songun policy is a genuine patriotic policy to avert a war and defend peace, he said, underscoring the need for all the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad to support and uphold the great Songun policy.
Representatives of workers, peasants and youth and students in their speeches said that if the U.S. imperialists launch a war of aggression again in this land, all the Korean people will defend their homeland at the cost of their lives in do-or-die spirit just as their parents did in the 1950s, wipe out the aggressors and certainly accomplish the sacred cause of national reunification.
The participants loudly chanted slogans reflecting the desire of the times and their iron will to achieve a historic victory in confrontation with the U.S. and in the cause of national reunification.

Coraje y audacia simpar
