Kim Jong Phil's Reckless Remarks under Fire

Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Phil, president of the United Liberal Democrats of south Korea, in a canvassing speech made in Kyonggi Province on April 9 openly incited confrontation with the north, asserting that "the north is threatening the south with nukes but the latter failed to dispel the illusion about the former and there is a force keen to get in touch with the north". In this regard the Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland released information bulletin No.865 yesterday.
    It said:
Such remarks of Kim Jong Phil are nothing but an epileptic fit of human dregs forsaken by the times as they bring to light the black-hearted design to get rid of the worst crisis his party is facing after being abandoned by the people for its pro-U.S. moves against the DPRK, corruption and the deplorable situation created in the wake of the passage of "the motion on impeachment against the president."
Kim Jong Phil is a wicked traitor to the nation and a remnant of "Yusin". This dirty guy should have already faced a stern judgment by the south Korean people and have been eliminated from the political arena." It is, therefore, ridiculous and foolish for him to desperately work to restore his old position, beating the worn-out drum for confrontation with the north though the nation lives in a bright era after the publication of the June 15 declaration whereby it strives to achieve reunification by its concerted efforts.
The people from all walks of life in south Korea should severely punish through the "election" the U.S. and its henchmen who are working with bloodshot eyes to stem the trend of the national history toward independence, democracy and reunification.

The organization said that it would make public a list of candidates from different political parties including 72 candidates from the Grand National Party who supported the motion through Internet, conduct a campaign to vote them down and carry on the movement for the withdrawal of the motion on troop dispatch even after the end of the "general election".
The 17th General Election Solidarity for Realizing New Politics in the Era of Reunification also released a list of those to be voted down in the 17th "general election".
The organization listed 99 candidates to be voted down for their anti-national and anti-reunification acts against peace out of the candidates for "National Assemblymen." 89 among them are from the GNP.

The letter was conveyed to an official concerned by Evelio Duenas Ponce, commercial councilor of the Cuban embassy who is doyen of the corps, on April 12.

U.S. New Operation Plan Slammed

Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Swiss Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, in a letter of protest sent to the U.S. president on April 1 demanded the United States immediately withdraw the "New Operation Plan 5026", stop all preparations for a war of aggression against the DPRK and conduct exhaustive dialogue with it. He bitterly denounced the scenario for a war of aggression aimed to mount a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK.
    He went on:
The announcement of the plan for a new war with the resumption of the six-way talks for the settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula ahead clearly proves that the U.S. administration's talk about "negotiations" and "peaceful settlement" is a sheer lie and nothing but hypocrisy intended to cover up its war and aggression.
The U.S. will be held fully responsible for all the consequences to be entailed by its moves for aggression. The U.S. forces should quit south Korea at once taking with them all their nuclear weapons.

North and South Koreans Meet in China

Speakers recalled with deep emotion that President Kim Il Sung met Rev. Mun who came to Pyongyang 15 years back to give him precious instructions related to national reunification and had a warm talk with him.
The President and leader Kim Jong Il always paid particular attention to his distinguished efforts for reunification and extended positive support to him and showed great care for the widow who came out to carry out the sacred cause of national reunification, following in the footsteps of her husband, they said.

U.S. Sinister Intention Flailed

Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- With the "National Assembly election" in south Korea just ahead the U.S. announced its plan to deploy the latest Aegis ship in the East Sea of Korea, which it usually sent to major dispute-torn areas and regions for strategic operations. It is creating a terror-ridden atmosphere by rendering the situation extremely tense. In this regard Rodong Sinmun today says in a signed commentary: This action taken by the U.S. is intended to give a shot in the arm of the pro-U.S. ultra-right conservative forces in south Korea who find themselves in a tight corner in the wake of the passage of the "the motion on the impeachment against the president" through the "National Assembly" and help them improve their image in the "election."
The NA passage of "the motion on impeachment" was a farce staged under the backstage manipulation of the U.S. in a bid to stem the trend of democratizing the south Korean society, dash the desire for independent reunification against the U.S. and reinforce its foundation of colonial rule over south Korea.
The political situation in south Korea in the wake of the passage of this "motion" is, however, turning quite contrary to the expectation of the U.S. and ultra-right conservative forces.
The present situation proves that the pro-U.S. conservative forces will not be able to get rid of the bottomless abyss of ruin, far from "being elected to the NA."
Nobody knows what terrible drug the U.S. and the ultra-right conservative forces including the Grand National Party of south Korea will prescribe in case the situation turns quite contrary to their expectation. The south Korean people should frustrate the U.S. criminal attempt at the risk of their destiny and life and foil any plot to turn the situation in its favor through joint actions.
A signed commentary of Minju Joson accuses the U.S. of working hard to strain the situation with the "election" in south Korea just ahead and give a shot in the arm of the pro-U.S. conservative forces.

It Is Not Interference in Japan's Domestic Issue

Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- The Japanese chief executive shortly ago grumbled that "it is strange for foreigners to oppose honoring the memory of war dead of Japan". He had in mind his visit to the Yasukuni Shrine. Commenting on this, a news analyst of Minju Joson today says:
It is universally recognized that Japanese politicians' visits to the shrine cannot be a domestic matter of Japan.
Preserved in the shrine are memorial tablets of war criminals who were judged by the international community and justice for having committed previously unknown anti-human crimes against the Asian people, buoyed by the fever of continental aggression.
It is the political creed and target of action of the Japanese reactionaries to turn Japan into a militarist state which would ride high and mighty in the conquest of Asia and aggression on the continent as in the Second World War.
Japan has already emerged a world's leading military power and its heavily-armed "Self-defence Forces" are prowling about in different parts of the world.
Japan is pointing its accusing finger at the international community, complaining about its "interference in the internal affairs" while seeking conquest of Asia and the world. It is a political folly disclosing the shamelessness peculiar to Japan.
Japan would be well advised to drop the despicable trick for deceiving and fooling the international community and stop at once its dangerous militarist moves for overseas aggression which would lead it to self-destruction.

Korea, Cradle of Humankind

Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- Korea, which boasts of many picturesque rivers and mountains, is one of the several cradles of humankind in the world. It has been proved by many relics and remains belonging to the beginning period of humankind discovered in Pyongyang and other areas of the Korean peninsula.
Typical of them are Komunmoru relics discovered in a grotto in Huku-ri of Sangwon County, Pyongyang. They, belonging to a million years ago, the early period of the Old Stone Age, are among the oldest primitive relics ever found in the world.
The primitive stone implements and fossil animal bones found out there were proved to be remnants left behind by dawn men.
Meanwhile, fossil Paleolithic men called "Hwadae Man", "Ryokpho Man" and "Tokchon Man" were discovered in Soksong-ri of Hwadae County, North Hamgyong Province, Taehyon-dong of Ryokpho District, Pyongyang, and Tokchon City of South Phyongan Province respectively.
The relics belonging to the middle of the Paleolithic era or over 100,000 years ago were discovered in Kulpho-ri of Rason City.
They are typical of those left behind by Paleolithic men. Fossils and relics of Neolithic men such as "Sungrisan Man", "Mandal Man" and "Ryongkok Man" were also unearthed in various areas.
All the facts prove that the Korean peninsula is one of the areas where humans came into being and developed.
The peninsula had a natural and geographical environment and climate favorable for the birth and development of humankind and a systematic process of the organic evolution.
Though there were several glacial periods in the fourth geological age, the climate of Korea was rather mild as it was slightly affected by them.
The palaeozoological, spore and pollen analysis shows that there was not a radical change in the climate of Korea but only a change from subtropical climate to temperate one.
