Written Request Handed to Secretary General of JSDP

Tokyo, April 10 (KNS-KCNA) -- Han Jong Chi, director of the International Affairs and Reunification Department of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), met with Seiji Mataichi, secretary general of the Japan Social-Democratic Party, on April 6 and handed to him a written request of Chongryon in which it opposed the passage of the "bill banning the portcalls of specified foreign ships" through the Diet. He requested the Japan Social-Democratic Party to prudently approach the move to enact an evil law aimed at blocking the sea route for humanitarian visits of Koreans in Japan to their homeland and barring even the non-governmental exchange between the two countries.
The secretary general said that his party would oppose the passage of the "bill" threatening the life of Koreans in Japan, noting that the "bill" is a dangerous one as it is quite contrary to the spirit of the Japan-DPRK Pyongyang Declaration. The party will in the future, too, strengthen the cooperation and solidarity with Chongryon, he said.

U.S. Dangerous Attempt to Launch Nuclear War Denounced

Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- The U.S. hard-line conservative forces are pushing for the change of the present nuclear weapon system and the possession of nukes causing less additional destruction under the pretext of "threat" of the DPRK and other countries "to the U.S. security." In this regard Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary says: This call of the U.S. bellicose forces is, in essence, aimed to make a nuclear war against other countries an established fact and step up its preparations for this war.
This is nothing but a brigandish logic intended to contain other countries with nukes and bring them under its control.
Those countries which the Bush group termed "dangerous states", "rogue states" are anti-imperialist independent countries.
The "proliferation security initiative" touted by the Bush group only brings to light the arbitrary motive of the nuclear warmongers to deter other countries from having military deterrents for self-defence and dominate the world with nukes as they please. The U.S. is putting military pressure upon the DPRK and amassing armed forces for war in and around south Korea under the pretext of the "nuclear and missile threat" from the DPRK, escalating the tensions on the Korean peninsula. This is aimed at igniting a nuclear war on the peninsula.
The U.S. imperialists' moves for a nuclear war which have become more reckless as the days go by only harden the resolution and will of the army and people of the DPRK to bolster the physical deterrent force to defend the sovereignty of the country.
The U.S. option for a nuclear war would only precipitate its own self-destruction.

S. Koreans Urged to Judge Conservative Forces in Voting

Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- The pro-U.S. conservative forces such as the Grand National Party and the Democratic Party staged a political rebellion in the form of "impeachment against the president" against the will of the south Koreans. Finding themselves isolated, completely losing popularity, they are now running about like a headless chicken to lift the rate of support to them which has fallen on the ground. Commenting on this, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun today says:
The south Koreans should eliminate on the political scene the ultra-right conservative forces in the upcoming "National Assembly election" and, by giving all the votes to the progressive reformist forces, make it an occasion for bringing the much awaited political reform and new politics. The GNP is the main target of the fighting in the election. To expect "a fresh start" from this party is an illusion that does so harm but not any good. There is nothing more to expect from this party. What remains to be done is to bring down this traitorous party.
The coming "National Assembly election" in south Korea is the capital chance to make a dramatic progress in the struggle for social justice and new life.
The situation is opportune. It is time the south Koreans made a bold decision. The voters, men and women, young and old, should all participate in the election and sternly judge the remnants of the ultra-right conservative forces. The ballots should be cast for the progressive reformist forces at all the polling booths to bring about a complete change in south Korean politics.
