     Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- Lectures and the opening ceremony of a DPRK crafts and arts exhibition were held on March 22 and 24 under the sponsorship of the Communist Party of Peru (Red Motherland), the Peruvian Communist Party and the State Library in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on the occasion of the Day of the Sun and the 11th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK. Noting that the Korean people highly praise President Kim Il Sung as the sun of the nation, the international secretary of the Central Committee of the CPP (Red Motherland) said at the lecture that he built the mightiest socialist system which remains unshaken in any confusion in Korea.
    The international secretary of the PCP said in a lecture that the independent policy in the DPRK was being brought to a more brilliant reality by Kim Jong Il, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, and his Songun policy was supported by all the Korean people today, being a true policy of love for his country, nation and people.
    Expressing great joy at the opening of the exhibition at his library on the occasion of the significant holiday of the Korean people, the chief of the State Library in Sao Paulo, Brazil, stressed in his speech that the Korean people would certainly emerge the victor in the nuclear standoff with the United States as long as they are guided by Kim Jong Il no matter how desperately the U.S. may maneuver to stifle the DPRK.

UN Urged to Take Follow-up Measure for Replacing KAA with Peace Agreement

     Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- The United Nations should no longer remain a passive onlooker to the issue of dissolving the "UN Command" but take an earlier follow-up measure to implement the resolution of the 30th Session of the UN General Assembly on dissolving and command replacing the Korean Armistice Agreement with a peace agreement, urged the DPRK delegate, addressing a meeting of the special committee on strengthening the UN Charter and Its Role on March 30. Today the principle of respecting sovereignty and ensuring its equality is being wantonly trampled upon in international relations and world peace and security are exposed to a grave threat owing to the strong-arm policy and unilateralism, he said, noting that the present international situation calls for further enhancing the role of the UN to live up to its purpose and principle.
    He went on:
    Rejecting the strong-arm policy and unilateralism is a prerequisite to meeting this demand. If the UN General Assembly has the authority to examine the resolutions of the UN Security Council which have direct effects on international peace and security and give relevant recommendations, it will be conducive to doing away with the strong-arm policy and unilateralism.
    The "UN Command" was framed up 50 odd years ago by the U.S. strong-arm and arbitrary practices. This was a crude violation of the UN Charter. The "UN Command" is, in fact, the U.S. Forces Command, being an illegal and anachronistic body, to all intents and purposes, and it is no more than a tool of aggression for attaining the U.S. strategic aim.

Kim Jong Il's Work Published in France

     Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's work "The Juche Philosophy Is an Original Revolutionary Philosophy" was published in pamphlet on March 30 by the Edition Democratique Publishing House of France. The work, issued on July 26, Juche 85 (1996), comprehensively elucidates the originality of the Juche philosophy and its superiority to the preceding philosophy of the working class.
    And it makes it clear that the Juche philosophy serves as the revolutionary philosophy, political philosophy of the Workers' Party of Korea and outlines matters of principle that should be taken into hands in the study and explanation of the Juche philosophy.

Japan's Anti-DPRK Bill Flailed

     Tokyo, April 3 (KNS-KCNA) -- Urgent meetings of Koreans in Japan took place in Kinki and Tokai districts of Japan on March 30 to denounce the "bill on banning the port call of specified ships". The reporters and speakers at the meetings rapped at the malicious attempts of the Japanese government to take the Koreans in Japan off the embrace of the DPRK by railroading through the Diet at any cost evil bills intended to ban the port call of ships including Mangyongbong-92 and apply economic sanctions against the DPRK.
    They called upon the officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan and compatriots to defend the dignity and rights of the nation to the end with concerted efforts, strongly demanding an immediate withdrawal of the retrogressively revised "law on foreign exchange" and a halt to the scheme to lay before the Diet the "bill on banning the port call of specified ships".
    Letters of protest to the Japanese government were adopted at the meetings.

     Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- A poster of the 6th Kimilsungia Festival to be held splendidly on the occasion of the Day of the Sun was released. Beautifully depicted there are immortal Kimilsungias in full bloom. Also seen there are letters reading "The 6th Kimilsungia Festival", "The Day of the Sun" and "Commemoration" and the festival flag. Written in the poster are letters that the festival will be held at the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition from April 13 to 22, Juche 93 (2004).

Seminar Held in Moscow

     Moscow, April 3 (KCNA) -- A seminar on the exploits of President Kim Il Sung was held in Moscow on April 1 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun under the sponsorship of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia. Sazhi Umalatova, chairperson of the party, in a report said that Kim Il Sung was the most outstanding great man who glorified the 20th century. He brilliantly carried out the task of the era by fathering the Juche idea, she noted.
    She said that his great Juche idea and immortal feats are giving not only the Korean people but the world progressives strength and courage like the heat and rays of the sun.
    Ivan Shashbiashbili, first vice-chairman of the party, in a speech said that thanks to the energetic leadership of Kim Jong Il who is glorifying Kim Il Sung's cause the Juche idea is more brightly shining as the torchlight of the era and the Party, the state and the army of the DPRK are displaying their dignity as the Party, the state and the army of Kim Il Sung.
    His immortal revolutionary history and great revolutionary feats will be everlasting thanks to Kim Jong Il, he noted.
    A. I. Makhnach, member of the Executive Committee of the party, in a speech said that Kim Il Sung was the greatest of great men with noble personality, magnanimity all people admire, lofty comradely obligation and humanity. That is why the progressives are boundlessly revering him, he stressed.

S. Korean Judicial Authorities' Fascist Act Slammed

     Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- The south Korean judicial authorities at the "final trial" of those involved in the "remittance to the north" inflicted penalties upon them. Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun today terms this an intolerable anti-national and anti-reunification fascist act of challenging to the historic Pyongyang summit meeting an the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and laying an artificial roadblock in the way of north-south reconciliation and unity. The news analyst goes on:
    The case of "remittance to the north" in south Korea was a product faked up by the ultra-right conservative forces including the Grand National Party under the manipulation of the United States to disparage the historic significance of the joint declaration and block the way of national reconciliation, cooperation and reunification. That is why no one admitted the case when it was made public in south Korea. All the fellow countrymen came out against incriminating "remittance to the north".
    Paying no heed to these public sentiments, the south Korean judicial authorities inflicted harsh penalties upon them in the long run, overawed by the anti-reunification fascist hysteria of the traitorous group of the GNP.
    The issue of "remittance to the north" can in no case be an object of investigation or punishment. Enormous are the consequences of the "special inspection" forced under the arbitrariness and pressure of the GNP and the "trials" staged by the judicial authorities following it. This cannot be compensated with anything.
    This case leads to the conclusion that the south Korean judicial authorities are a group of anti-reunification fascist murderers who, like the ultra-right conservative forces of the GNP, regard patriots as criminals and resort to fascist suppression in disregard of the aspiration and desire of the fellow countrymen. No one would consider it an exaggeration.

U.S .Should Not Act Rashly

     Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a commentary as regards the U.S. bellicose forces' foolish attempt to stifle the DPRK by a strong-arm military action warns the U.S. not to behave rashly. The news analyst says:
    The U.S. is making free with such phrases as "dialogue" and "peaceful method" for a solution to the nuclear issue while hastening preparations in real earnest for the second Korean war behind the curtain and this is going beyond the danger line. The DPRK cannot but take a serious view of this.
    The U.S. imperialists are going to provoke a war against the north by surprise while building up arms and staging war exercises in and around south Korea as they did in Iraq.
    The situation on the Korean peninsula is very strained. The U.S. imperialists do not want dialogue with the DPRK but seek to stifle it by strength at any cost. Since the U.S. has made this clear by its reckless saber-rattling these days, the DPRK is compelled to increase its military deterrent and take countermeasures for defending its sovereignty.
    The increase of its nuclear deterrent by the DPRK is a legitimate self-defensive measure to cope with the U.S. preemptive nuclear attack and armed invasion against it. The U.S. dare not venture firing first at the DPRK as the latter has a powerful military deterrent. No one has the ground to take issue with the increase of military deterrent by the DPRK when the U.S. is hell bent on stifling it by a strong-arm military action.
    The U.S. would be well advised to stop its reckless act, clearly seeing the stance of the DPRK.

Achievements in Technical Innovation Campaign

     Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- Members of three-revolution teams dispatched to different sectors of the national economy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have made a big technical progress. In recent years, they have introduced more than 1,200 valuable technical inventions in production, thus making a tangible contribution to the development of the national economy.
    Those active in the Pyongyang Thermal-Power Complex, in line with the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of technical revolution, have applied ten-odd technical inventions to production in collaboration with scientists and researchers of the Academy of Sciences and Kim Chaek University of Technology. As a result, they have put the electric power production on a normal basis while saving coal and heavy oil. Among the inventions are apparatuses for protecting high-tension electric motors and checking electric motors.
    Members working at the Chollima Steel Complex have made eight technical inventions badly needed to increase production.
    Those dispatched to the Ryongsong Machine Complex, the Ranam Coal Mining Machine Complex and the October 30 Factory have updated equipment and introduced scores of technical inventions in production.
    The three-revolution team members working with the cosmetic factories in Pyongyang and Sinuiju have made various technical inventions to improve the quality of products and those at the Sinuiju Textile Mill have introduced latest technologies in production processes to lay a solid foundation for increased production.
    Those dispatched to rural communities have invented and manufactured efficient farm machines. They have also explicated the role of micro-elements in the cultivation and yield of paddy rice and made a lot of technical inventions for the increase of agricultural production.
    On the other hand, the three-revolution team members have also conducted vigorous activities to introduce new science and technologies to working people.
    Many of them have been awarded state commendations or diplomas of scientific and technical inventions.

Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong

     Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- Fifty years have passed since the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery was built on Mt. Taesong in Pyongyang. On April 5, Juche 43 (1954), a year after the end of the Fatherland Liberation War, President Kim Il Sung, with a strong sense of obligation to the anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs who dedicated themselves to the struggle for the liberation of the country and the freedom and emancipation of the people, had their remains moved to Mt. Taesong from Moran Hill.
    Later, he chose the site of the cemetery on Jujak Peak, climbing up and down low and high peaks of Mt. Taesong several times and indicated ways for building the cemetery.
    One day in October 1975, the President visited the revolutionary martyrs cemetery the construction of which was completed on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the Workers' Party of Korea. He remembered days of the anti-Japanese war with deep emotion, looking round the busts of the martyrs.
    He called at the cemetery twenty-nine times in his lifetime.
    His noble intention to convey the feats of revolutionary veterans to the posterity was realized satisfactorily under deep care of leader Kim Jong Il.
    The leader examined the model boards and draft of the expanded cemetery eight times and gave field guidance to the reconstruction site on several occasions. He also gave instructions regarding the reconstruction of the cemetery on more than 80 occasions.
    When the project was completed, he wrote "Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery" on the board.
    Every year millions of local people, Koreans overseas and foreigners visit the cemetery to pay deep homage to anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk and other revolutionary martyrs.

Credentials Presented to Kim Yong Nam

     Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, received credentials from Alan William Thomas, new Australian ambassador e. p. to the DPRK, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall today. Present were Kim Yong Il, vice minister of Foreign Affairs, and staff members of the Australian embassy.
    After receiving the credentials, the president conversed with the ambassador.

     Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a friendly conversation with Phan Trong Thai, new Vietnamese ambassador e.p. to the DPRK, who paid a courtesy call on him at the Mansudae Assembly Hall today.

Kim Jong Il inspecciona granja bovina de la Unidad No. 580 del EPC

     Pyongyang, 5 de abril (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il, Secretario General del Partido del Trabajo de Corea (PTC), Presidente del Comite de Defensa Nacional de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea (RPDC) y Comandante Supremo del Ejercito Popular de Corea (EPC), inspecciono la Granja Bovina "18 de julio" de la Unidad No. 580 del EPC. Al recorrer el interior y el exterior de la granja, en particular la nave de animales, el centro de saladura de hierbas, centro de prevencion veterinaria y la sala de estudio tecnico, se entero detalladamente del estado de construccion y de cria y cuidado.
    Dijo que la granja bovina fue construida en un alto nivel de calidad, conforme a las actividades de gestion y prevencion veterinaria, y evaluo altamente las proezas de los constructores militares, quienes dando pruebas de toda su inteligencia y entusiasmo prepararon una nueva riqueza de eterna duracion para contribuir a la prosperidad de la patria.
    Dijo que la granja esta bien situada con extensa area de hierbal para incrementar rapidamente la produccion de productos ganaderos y subrayo la necesidad de convertirla en una gran base ganadera al aprovechar al maximo las condiciones favorables.
    Agrego que para acondicionar con vision al futuro la granja ganadera es preciso terminar con anticipacion dentro de unos meses las obras previstas para la segunda etapa entre otras la construccion de las instalaciones culturales y de servicio publico y de los senderos al lado de las praderas.
    Senalo que lo mas importante en la labor para producir mayor cantidad de carne de vaca es seleccionar la mejor variedad y subrayo que se debe materializar estrictamente la orientacion del PTC en materia de hacer la revolucion en semillas.
    Hablo de que para asegurar mayor cantidad de productos ganaderos deben disponer de suficientes instalaciones de investigacion cientifica, fortalecer la labor de investigacion, elevar incesantemente el nivel tecnico y de calificacion y realizar conforme a las razones cientifico - tecnicas la cria y cuidado.
    Y presento la tarea de preparar la solida base de piensos.
    Acto seguido, el Comandante Supremo localizo el terreno de la planta de patos a ser construida de inmediato por los militares del EPC.
    Dijo que el aumento de produccion de carne, huevos, peces y otros alimentos subsidiarios es una tarea revolucionaria pesada pero orgullosa para satisfacer el deseo secular del pueblo coreano y expreso la gran esperanza y afirmacion de que ellos acumulen grandes proezas en la labor para situar a la nueva etapa mas alla la ganaderia del pais y asi operar un viraje decisivo en la mejora de la vida popular.

Francia: obra de Kim Jong Il en folleto

     Pyongyang, 5 de abril (ATCC) -- La Editora Edition Democratique de Francia dio a luz el 30 de marzo en folleto la obra del Dirigente Kim Jong Il "La filosofia Juche es una original filosofia revolucionaria", publicada el 26 de julio del 85 (1996) de la Era Juche. La obra aclara globalmente la originalidad y la superioridad de la filosofia Juche en comparacion con la anterior de la clase obrera.
    Ademas, dilucida que la filosofia Juche constituye filosofia revolucionaria y la politica del Partido del Trabajo de Corea y presenta los problemas de principios para el estudio y la divulgacion de la filosofia Juche.

Moscu: simposio por Dia del Sol

     Moscu, 3 de abril (ATCC)--Con motivo del Dia del Sol (cumpleanos del Presidente Kim Il Sung), tuvo lugar el dia primero en esta capital el simposio sobre las hazanas del Presidente Kim Il Sung, bajo auspicios del Partido por la Paz y Unidad de Rusia (PPUR). S.Z. Umalatova, presidenta de esta entidad politica, en su informe, senalo que el Presidente Kim Il Sung es un hombre mas destacado que hizo brillar el siglo XX y recalco que su grandeza consiste en la creacion de la idea Juche y la solucion brillante de la tarea de epoca.
    Subrayo que la gran idea Juche creada por el Presidente y sus inmortales hazanas infunden la fuerza y el vigor comparables con el calor y la luz del Sol al pueblo coreano y a la humanidad progresista del mundo.
