Joint Military Maneuvers of U.S. and South Korean Warhawks under Fire

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- The Asian Regional Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, the All-India Indo-Korean Friendship Association and the Indian Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification in a joint statement issued on March 23 assailed the "Foal Eagle" and "RSOI" joint military exercises launched by the U.S. and the south Korean warhawks. Huge troops of the U.S. forces present in south Korea and other regions and the south Korean army and great many sophisticated war means are involved in these joint military maneuvers, the statement noted, and continued: This is a blatant challenge and perfidy to the international community and the countries concerned in their sincere efforts to seek a negotiated peaceful solution to the nuclear issue.
The U.S. instigated the bellicose forces of south Korea to launch the joint military exercises against its dialogue partner at a time when the situation has developed in favour of national reconciliation, peace and the reunification of Korea since the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, in particular. This proves that the ulterior intention of the U.S. is not to ensure peace on the Korean peninsula but to stifle the DPRK militarily, not to seek a negotiated solution to the issue but to achieve its aim, wasting time behind the scene of talks.
We fully support the statement issued by a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK dated March 19 in which it declared that it was compelled to take strong measures for just self-defence to protect the supreme security of the state. The statement urged the U.S. to act with discretion, cogitating over the unpredictable consequences to be entailed by Foal Eagle and RSOI.
It ardently called on the progressive people of India and the rest of the world to bitterly denounce the joint military exercises and voice full support and solidarity with the Korean people in their struggle for the independent reunification of the country.

Proposal for Glorifying Three Generals' Exploits Supported

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- The Asian Regional Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, the All-India Indo-Korean Friendship Association and the Indian Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification in a joint statement on March 20 extended full support to the proposal of Mongolian organizations to hold a meeting in praise of the three generals of Mt. Paektu in the area of the secrete camp of Mt. Paektu and erect a monument to their greatness in 2005 which will mark the 60th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 60th anniversary of Korea's liberation. Socialist Korea has firmly protected the sovereignty of the country and the nation despite the blatant challenge of the imperialist allied forces, the statement said, adding it is widely known to the world people that this reality would have been unthinkable without the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung, anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk and leader Kim Jong Il.
It expressed belief that the monument to their greatness would give a strong impetus to the human cause of independence and all the progressives of the world in the 21st century.

Large-Scale U.S.-South Korea Landing Exercise in S. Korea

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- The U.S. troops and the south Korean army staged a large-scale joint landing exercise in the area of Toksong-ri, Phohang City, North Kyongsang Province, on March 26, according to the south Korean KBS. Involved in the maneuver were at least 3,000 troops including the South Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Air Force and the marine landing group of the south Korean army and war equipment.
The exercise was staged under the simulated conditions of a surprise landing in the rear of the "enemy" with the naval and air support in the event of "contingency". It is reportedly aimed to strengthen the system of operational cooperation between the U.S. and south Korea.
This landing exercise is a drill for a war of aggression against the DPRK as it is part of the provocative large-scale joint military exercises now under way across south Korea.

U.S. and S. Korean Bellicose Forces' Joint Military Exercises Flailed

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification reportedly issued a statement on March 24 under the title "The U.S. and south Korean authorities, immediately stop war maneuvers for exterminating the nation". Noting that the U.S. and south Korean bellicose forces are staging the large-scale RSOI and Foal Eagle exercises despite the strong protest at home and abroad, the statement denounced the current joint war maneuvers with a aircraft carrier and destroyers belonging to the U.S. Seventh Fleet, the Striker unit and other huge armed forces involved as dangerous war moves aimed to mount a "preemptive nuclear attack" on the north.
The U.S. is stepping up the war preparations according to the "new operation plan 5026", a new scenario for a war of aggression, after deploying high-performance combat equipment on the Korean peninsula, it noted, and went on:
The south Korean authorities are still pursuing "cooperation" with foreign forces even today when the U.S. threat of a nuclear war to the nation is imminent. The behaviors of the authorities pursuant to the U.S. moves for a war of aggression are, indeed, treacherous acts against the June 15 joint declaration and the nation.
The U.S. and the south Korean authorities should stop acting rashly, clearly understanding the desire of the 70 million Koreans.

Brigandish U.S. Demand

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- The U.S. reportedly forced the south Korean authorities to build more than 1,200 dwelling houses gratis in Phyongthaek and Osan, Kyonggi Province, where the U.S. military base will be transferred from Ryongsan. At the seventh meeting of the Council of the South Korea-U.S. Alliance for Planning Future Policy held in the middle of February the U.S. raised a brigandish demand that the south Korean authorities bear all the expense of transferring the U.S. military base from Ryongsan and build the dwelling houses of U.S. troops gratis.
The south Korean authorities, instead of refusing the U.S. demand, put forward a compromise that the south Korean side bears all the expense of building 320 houses in the area where the base will be transferred and leases the rest 880 houses. But the U.S. turned it down and insisted on building all of them gratis.
If the U.S. demand is met, the south Korean authorities will bear much more expense of hundreds of billions of won.
The U.S. brigandish demand is touching off the resentment of the south Koran public.

Recruits Congratulated by Schoolchildren in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- A meeting of schoolchildren in Pyongyang was held at the Open-Air Theatre of the Youth Park to congratulate recruits of the Korean People's Army leaving for their posts for the defence of the country, firmly determined to foil the U.S. imperialists' moves to provoke a new war and honorably safeguard the sovereignty of their motherland as the young vanguard in the era of Songun. Present at the meeting were Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, and other officials concerned.
Kim Song Chol, first secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, made a speech to be followed by congratulatory speeches.
After warmly congratulating the recruits, the speakers said that the motherland would remain invulnerable and prosperous thanks to the dependable young vanguard who are ready to bring their ideal and hope into bloom in the way of remaining true to the Party's Songun leadership.
They asked the recruits to show their loyalty every moment of their military service with the same spirit of defending the leader and the motherland at the cost of lives as displayed by the first and second generations of the revolution.
Recruits in their speeches evincing their resolutions said it was sacred duty and due obligation for the young people to defend the benevolent socialist motherland with arms.
They firmly resolved to take the lead in upholding the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il with arms, decisively smash the vicious moves of the U.S. imperialists, the enemy, for a nuclear war and defend the socialist country as firm as an iron wall, cherishing the Party's trust and expectation at all times.

Peaceful Reunification of Korea Supported by World Christians

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- There was an international meeting of Christians for the peaceful reunification of the Korean peninsula in Frankfurt, Germany, from March 11 to 15. The meeting was attended by delegates of Christian organizations of various countries including the DPRK and representatives of the World Council of Churches, the World Alliance of Reformed Churches, the Asian Christian Council and other international and regional organizations.
Speakers at the meeting strongly condemned the Bush administration for its evermore undisguised hostile moves to stifle the DPRK under the pretext of the "nuclear issue" and expressed full support and solidarity with the Korean people in their just cause of defending the sovereignty of the country and the nation.
Noting that the division of Korea has brought unbearable sufferings to all the Korean people, they stressed that this division has created an abnormal situation which should never be allowed to continue for the sake of global peace and security.
Recalling that the process of reconciliation, unity and reunification that has briskly and favourably developed between the north and the south since the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration is now in jeopardy due to the present U.S. administration's military moves to launch a war of aggression against the DPRK, they underscored the need to extend positive support to the Korean people in their efforts to prevent a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula and achieve peace, stability and reunification and called on Christians' organizations in different countries and international organizations to firmly unite and smash the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK.
A joint statement adopted at the meeting strongly demanded the Bush administration drop its hostile policy toward the DPRK, turn the state of armistice between the DPRK and the U.S. into peace, give up its plan for a preemptive attack on the republic and lift at once its economic sanctions against it.

Japan Urged to Drop Its Ambition for World Conquest

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today carries a lengthy article headlined "Japan, ferocious aggressor force in the 21st century, dreaming of world conquest." It says:
The brigandish ambition of Japan to obliterate and dominate other countries and nations through aggression and war and achieve "prosperity" remains unchanged in the 21st century, too. Japanese militarism is by no means a departed soul but has emerged a real and dangerous war force for overseas aggression.
It cites concrete facts to prove that the Japanese reactionaries have rounded off their military operational, legal, economic, ideological and mental preparations and procedures for overseas aggression.
    It goes on:
Their gun roar for overseas aggression sounded already long ago. A proof of this is that they are dispatching the "Self-Defence Forces" overseas under the signboard of letting them participate in "peace-keeping operations" of the United Nations, legally guaranteed by the "law on overseas troop dispatch". Japan had dispatched a total of 3,987 troops of the SDF to different parts of the world on 15 occasions from 1992 to 2002 in a bid to demonstrate its position as a military power to the world. When the "September 11 incident" occurred in the United States in the new century, Japan, as if it had waited for it to take place, cooked up the "law on special measures to combat terrorism" under the pretext of "support to the U.S.," drastically extending the sphere of the SDF's activities even to the Indian Ocean and dispatching SDF's fleet there to actively back the U.S. forces in their Afghan war.
What should not be overlooked is the fact that Japan is massively dispatching fully armed troops of the SDF to war-torn Iraq. The Japanese reactionaries sent even 8,900-ton large transport ship Osmi to the battle area in February in the wake of their dispatch of SDF to Iraq at the end of last year and in January this year. It is the first time since the end of the Second World War that Japan dispatched SDF to the battle area for overseas military operations. The Japanese militarist forces armed to the teeth seem to think it is high time they set out for world conquest.
Various restrictions compel Japan to take the road of converting itself into a military giant based on militarism and realizing overseas expansion backed by the United States at present. But it is its view that it can fully realize its ambition for overseas aggression only when it gets rid of a U.S. "nuclear umbrella" one day in the future.
It is an invariable design of the Japanese reactionaries to realize their ambition for domination over Asia and world conquest in the 21st century even by use of nukes.
In the past the Japanese militarists were familiar with many wars of aggression and always accustomed to a blitz attack and surprise attack. It is as clear as daylight that they will not hesitate to commit any hideous crimes again.
The DPRK is made the primary target of Japan's overseas aggression.
It is the calculation of the Japanese reactionaries that they can never realize their ambition for continental aggression unless they seize the DPRK, an invulnerable bulwark of socialism, standing as a gate to the Asian continent. The Japanese reactionary ruling quarters are now further escalating their political, diplomatic economic and military pressure upon the DPRK than ever before under the pretext of its "missile and nuclear issues" in a bid to stage a comeback to Korea.
They may launch a surprise invasion of the DPRK under the pretext of "its threat". If the "threat from north Korea" serves as a prelude to the Japanese reactionaries' reinvasion of Korea, it will do as a prelude to their Asian reinvasion. Japan's threat to the DPRK precisely means a threat to Asia.
Having completely discarded its veil of a "peace-loving state" it has used for more than half a century since the end of the war, Japan has revealed its true colors as a war state and warlike forces for domination keen on world conquest.
The Japanese reactionaries' wild ambition for overseas aggression can never come true. This is not an option helpful to Japan's peace, security and prosperity but one leading it to self-destruction.

S. Korean Students Go on Sit-in Strike

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- Students under the Seoul District Federation of University Student Councils reportedly held a press conference at the Myongdong Cathedral in Seoul on March 21 before going on an emergency sit-in strike at the Myongdong Cathedral to dismantle the 16th-term National Assembly, check the political coup and judge corrupt politicians in the April general election. At the press conference Kim Mi Suk, chairwoman of the Tongari Federation of Duksong Women's University who is head of the emergency sit-in strike group, said that people's resentment is daily growing stronger in the wake of the passage of the motion on impeachment through the National Assembly and that the strike would certainly judge the corrupt politicians in the April general election with the strength of youth and students.
She declared that the sit-in strike group would conduct information activities such as distributing literature among citizens everyday and take part in the candlelight demonstration, too.

DPRK-New Zealand Friendship Farm Designated

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- The Haksan Co-operative Farm in Hyongjesan District, Pyongyang, was designated as the DPRK-New Zealand Friendship Farm with due ceremony yesterday on the occasion of the third anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Jon Yong Jin, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who is chairman of the DPRK-New Zealand Friendship Association, and other officials concerned were present at the ceremony.
The chairman of the Management Board of the Farm declared the farm was named the DPRK-New Zealand Friendship Farm.
After hearing a congratulatory speech made by the chairman of the friendship association, the participants looked round photos and books introducing New Zealand.

Japan's Territorial Claim to Tok Islet Flailed

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries' territorial claim to Tok Islet was not prompted by their misunderstanding of historical facts or ignorance of international law. It glaringly reveals their intention to justify Japan's past history of overseas aggression and the wild ambition of the revived Japanese militarist forces for expansion overseas. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article Recalling that stamps on Tok Islet were issued in Japan recently, the article notes it has been historically and legally proved that Tok Islet has been part of the territory of Korea since ancient times and, accordingly, Japan can never claim "dominion over Tok Islet." Japan claimed again "dominion over Tok Islet," the assertion that has long gone bankrupt, instead of fully redeeming its unprecedented past crimes against the Korean people. This is a wanton violation of the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation and an intolerable mockery of the nation.
The Japanese reactionaries' claim is, in essence, aimed to launch military provocation against the DPRK.
They seek to convince the world public that Tok Islet belongs to Japan and occupy the islet by force under that pretext and launch reinvasion of the whole of Korea, using the islet as a springboard.
In fact, the Japan Self-Defence Forces have rounded off all preparations for overseas aggression, for the reinvasion of Korea for the present. Now they just require a pretext to do so. That was why they began clamoring for the dominion over the islet. It is their true intention to launch armed invasion of Korea under that pretext.
The Japanese reactionaries' strategic plan is to seize economic interests and jurisdiction over the area of Tok Islet, to begin with, and put the islet under their complete control in a bid to establish a 200-mile unchallenged economic sea limit centering on it and monopolize their economic interests in the area. Furthermore, they seek to convert the islet into a military base and effectively use it for marching northward as they did in the past Russo-Japanese war. It is a major political and military objective of the Japanese reactionaries to use the islet as a springboard from which to realize their ambition for reinvading Korea. The Japanese chief executive's absurd territorial claim to Tok Islet is little short of the green light to the reinvasion of Korea.
The Japanese militarist forces are set to stage comeback to Korea and rush headlong into overseas aggression, fluttering blood-stained "Hinomaru" and singing "Kimigayo" as they did in the past.
Japan's reinvasion of Korea means digging its own grave.
The Japanese reactionaries had better stop running amuck.

Lebanese Preparatory Committee Formed

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- A Lebanese preparatory committee was formed on March 17 to commemorate the Day of the Sun. Zaher al Khatib, secretary general of the Lebanonese Federation of Workers who is chairman of the Lebanese Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.
The preparatory committee decided to hold colorful functions introducing the immortal feats performed by President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.

Kim Jong Il's Works Studied in Mexico and India

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- A seminar on "1. The Origin of the Juche Idea" of leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "On the Juche Idea" was held in Mexico on March 17. Speakers at the seminar clearly proved the profundity and popularity of his work "On the Juche Idea" and expressed their determination to intensify the study and dissemination of the work to expand the ranks of its adherents as early as possible.
The chairman of the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism, praised President Kim Il Sung as a peerless hero who defeated two imperialisms in one generation, the father of socialist Korea who turned the DPRK into a powerful people-centered socialist country and a peerlessly great man who fathered the Juche idea, indicating a bright road of accomplishing the human cause of independence.
A reading session on Kim Jong Il's famous work "The Juche Philosophy Is an Original Revolutionary Philosophy" was held by the Indian Youth Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Il Sung on March 20. Chairman of the group Balzor Singh Chauhan said that the Juche idea fathered by the President is a unique idea reflecting the aspiration in the era of independence, the new historic era when the popular masses emerged as the master of their destiny, and the practical requirements of the Korean revolution.
Kim Jong Il has led the Korean people's struggle to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche along the straight road of victory with his unique Songun politics, the chairman said, stressing: The great progress made by the Korean people in the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation is the result of his wise leadership.

U.S. Madcap War Maneuvers against DPRK under Fire

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article brands the U.S. imperialists' RSOI and Foal Eagle joint military exercises in south Korea as a test war, a preliminary war aimed to militarily threaten and blackmail the DPRK and launch a preemptive strike against it. Noting that the U.S. imperialists are now going to provoke another war of aggression in the Korean peninsula by applying the same method of "preemptive attack" to the DPRK as they used in the Iraqi war, the article goes on:
They have massed huge forces in south Korea since the outset of the Iraqi war. They mapped out the "operation plan 5030," the "new operation plan 5026," scenarios for a war of aggression on Korea. What remains to be done is just to start a war against the DPRK.
RSOI and Foal Eagle are to serve this purpose. The on-going war exercises can not but be very dangerous military moves.
The international community wishes for a peaceful negotiated solution to the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. The countries concerned are working for it. But, the U.S. is conducting a test war targeted against its dialogue partner against this backdrop. This is a very disturbing and reckless move. These war maneuvers are undisguised challenge and perfidy to the international community and the countries concerned in their efforts to seek a peaceful negotiated solution to the nuclear issue.
The U.S. war drills are aimed to scuttle dialogue and harass peace. It is the ulterior motive of the U.S. not to ensure peace on the Korean peninsula but to stifle the DPRK, not to seek a negotiated solution to the nuclear issue but to step up the preparations for a war behind the curtain of talks, waste time and mount a sudden preemptive attack on the DPRK. The U.S. is set to bring down the DPRK by force of arms. RSOI and Foal Eagle joint military drills can be termed as a preemptive military operation aimed to carry out its strategy towards Korea, high-handed military actions. There is no guarantee that the on-going war maneuvers will not go over to an actual war. The U.S. imperialists' war racket intended to extremely rattle the nerves of their dialogue partner, chill the atmosphere of the talks and launch a war will get them to nowhere.
The U.S. should be held accountable for the serious consequences to be entailed by this reckless saber rattling and should stop acting rashly.

U.S. Real Intention to Invade DPRK Disclosed

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- The on-going U.S. madcap war exercises targeted against the DPRK only glaringly reveal the hypocrisy of the U.S. talk about "peace" and its invariable design of aggression on the Korean peninsula. Minju Joson today says this in a signed commentary. It goes on:
The Bush gentries are staging frantic large-scale war maneuvers while escalating the moves to stifle the DPRK by force of arms despite the sincere efforts of the international community and the countries concerned to settle the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. through dialogue in a peaceful way.
The U.S. ulterior design on the Korean peninsula still remains unchanged. It seeks to stifle the DPRK by force of arms and swallow up the whole of Korea at any cost. The U.S. talk about "peaceful settlement" and "dialogue" is not to ensure peace on the Korean peninsula but to achieve its sinister purpose of gaining time for rounding off the preparations to disarm the DPRK behind the scene of dialogue and stifle it militarily.
The U.S. is escalating its moves to stifle the DPRK by force of arms, deliberately throwing hurdles in the way of settling the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. with a hypocritical and deceptive talk about "peaceful settlement" to gain time. This only compels the DPRK to take all the self-defensive measures to cope with them. This is the option of the DPRK for self-defence which no one can find fault with.
If the U.S. foolishly attempts to attack the DPRK, the former will be held wholly responsible for all the ensuing unpredictable consequences.

Meeting Held to Mark 50th Anniversary of KUA

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held at the People's Palace of Culture yesterday to mark the 50th anniversary of the Korean Union of Architects. Present at the meeting were Han Song Ryong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and other officials concerned.
Han Song Ryong read out a congratulatory message the WPK Central Committee sent to all the members of the KUA.
The message noted that the KUA established by President Kim Il Sung on March 26, Juche 43 (1954) has successfully fulfilled its glorious mission and duty to defend and carry through the Juche-oriented idea of the Workers' Party of Korea on architecture, covering the proud road of development under the wise guidance of the Party and the leader for the last 50 years.
The union has made a positive contribution to building revolutionary battle sites and revolutionary sites associated with the immortal revolutionary history and exploits of the three generals of Mt. Paektu and great monumental edifices in the Workers' Party era, the message noted.
The message highly praised the officials and members of the union for performing great feats in the worthwhile efforts to carry out the Party's far-reaching plan of architecture and expressed the firm belief that they would live up to the Party's expectation by making greater successes in architectural creation.
A report was made by Pae Tal Jun, chairman of the KUA Central Committee, which was followed by speeches.

KCNA Slams U.S.-South Korea Joint Military Exercises in S. Korea

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- The present situation on the Korean peninsula remains dangerous owing to the reckless moves of the U.S. warhawks and their followers to unleash a war of aggression against the DPRK so that a nuclear war may break there anytime. The United States started a military exercise dubbed Freedom Banner 04 with the mobilization of hundreds of combat vehicles, tanks and armored cars for landing belonging to a flotilla of the U.S. Marine Corps and thousands of its soldiers at Phyongthaek Port on March 8. On March 22, RSOI and Foal Eagle joint military exercises began with the involvement of huge armed forces including at least 40,000-strong U.S. forces occupying south Korea, GIs deployed in the Asia-Pacific region and the south Korean army. Timed to coincide with these maneuvers, a joint military exercise of the U.S. and south Korean marine corps codenamed a "plan for combined rehearsal" is now underway in the area close to the Demilitarized Zone of the Military Demarcation Line.
Such war maneuvers simultaneously going on in the sky, land and sea of south Korea are, to all intents and purposes, very adventurous exercises under the simulated conditions of preemptive nuclear strikes at the DPRK.
Involved in them are about 5,500 U.S. marines and over 3,000 GIs of other services deployed in the Hawaii, Okinawa and Iwakuni bases. Aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk with some 70 fighters and 5,500 combatants aboard and Aegis destroyers having precision strike capacity and equipped with a missile interceptor system and a weapons system for the use of depleted uranium bombs have also arrived in south Korea.
The U.S. is describing these military exercises as "annual events" and "drills of defensive nature" in an attempt to cover up their aggressive nature. But they are precisely the largest- ever nuclear war exercises targeted against the DPRK in the light of the scale of GI participation, the level of the equipment involved and the selection of the operational theatre.
Countless joint military exercises of the U.S. forces and the south Korean army were held in south Korea in the past. But never have the Marine Corps called most elite unit in the U.S., Striker Unit known as a U.S. rapid task brigade, and uptodate war means been simultaneously mobilized for several military drills in the area close to the DMZ and Seoul area as this time.
No wonder, foreign media viewed the current war maneuvers as the largest since 1994. The U.S. announced its plan to stage these military exercises right after the end of the six-way talks. This is a challenge to the Korean people, the international community and the countries concerned in their sincere efforts for a peaceful negotiated solution to the nuclear issue.
Whenever an opportunity presented itself, high-ranking officials of the U.S. administration talked about a "peaceful solution" to the nuclear issue, asserting that the U.S. is ready to push forward the work to settle the nuclear issue peacefully and the U.S. will not attack north Korea. But the situation prevailing on the Korean peninsula clearly proves that the U.S. talk about "dialogue" and "peace" is no more than a hypocritical window-dressing to conceal its aggressive nature.
The ulterior intention of the U.S. is not to settle the nuclear issue peacefully but gain time behind the scene of the talks and finally bring down the DPRK by force of arms.
There is no guarantee that the current war maneuvers staged with the mobilization of armed forces huge enough to ignite a war will not go over to a war against the DPRK.
    Dialogue and confrontation are incompatible.
The DPRK neither want a war nor avoid it.
The army and people of the DPRK will not slacken vigilance against the U.S. hostile acts even a moment but take strong self-defensive steps if it threatens the supreme security of the DPRK.

Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, inspected a sub-unit of KPA Unit 979 honored with the title of Kum Song Lifeguard. He acquainted himself with the sub-unit's performance of duty before watching the training of its soldiers.
He set forth tasks which would serve as guidelines in increasing the combat capability of the sub-unit, greatly satisfied to see the soldiers trained as one-match-for-a hundred fighters.
He highly praised the servicemen of the sub-unit for sweating with loyalty to defend the motherland, noting that they have prepared themselves as matchless fighters capable of defeating any formidable enemy at one blow as they have devoted themselves to training in their uniforms wet with sweat to thoroughly fulfill their training programme.
Saying it is very gratifying to see the servicemen living and struggling in a revolutionary and militant manner under the slogan "Let all of us learn from Heroes Ri Su Bok and Kim Kwang Chol to become heroes of the army in the Songun era!", he called on all of them to perform shining feats every moment of their service and thus become heroes in the new century.
Then he took deep care of servicemen's living, looking round an education room, a bedroom, a mess hall, a kitchen, a washroom, a daily provision store, an outdoor resting place and other entertainment and logistic facilities.
Greatly satisfied to learn that the unit has realized electrification on a high level with the electricity produced there and all its entertainment and logistic facilities have been built well to the convenience of the soldiers, he underscored the need for all the units of the KPA to realize electrification at an early date to provide the soldiers with highly civilized and best living conditions.
He spared time to appreciate an art performance given by servicepersons of a company of the sub-unit.
He gave the servicepersons of the sub-unit a pair of binoculars, a machine gun and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a photo session with them.
The next leg of his inspection was a power station built by KPA Unit 966.
He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the servicepersons of the unit have completed the gigantic nature-harnessing project by their own efforts by fully displaying the revolutionary soldier spirit, saying that the station is an edifice of eternal value as it was designed well on the principle of profitability and built most qualitatively.
Seeing photographs showing the heroic struggle of the soldier-builders, he said the KPA servicemen are taking the lead also in the sacred drive to build a great prosperous powerful nation and this is the noble patriotic fighting spirit which can be displayed only by the KPA, the guardian of the country and the people.
He was accompanied by KPA Generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong and Ri Yong Chol, first vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK.
