DPRK to Steadily Increase Its Nuclear Deterrent Force

Invincible Is DPRK Advancing under Leadership of Songun

Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- Papers here today run editorials to mark the 55th anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Rodong Sinmun says for 55 years after its foundation the DPRK has traversed the proud road of sovereignty, independence and prosperity, going through any storm and stress in the rigorous history.
The 55 years of the DPRK are a period of heroic struggle and victory in which it has firmly defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country and the nation, foiling every move for aggression and challenge of the imperialists and a period of great creation and change in which it has turned into a powerful socialist country, independent, self-supporting and self-reliant in national defence, paving the untrodden path and a period of devoted service for the people in which it has looked after the destiny of the people and provided them with genuine freedom and happiness in a responsible manner, it says, and goes on:
Upholding leader Kim Jong Il's idea and guidance with loyalty is most ardent patriotism and a decisive guarantee for further demonstrating the dignity of the Republic.
He represents the motherland and destiny of the nation. All the officers and men of the People's Army and the people should cherish the undisputed loyalty to him and hold higher the banner of devotedly defending the leadership of the revolution. They should approach and put into practice everything from the stand of devotedly defending the leadership of the revolution, become his faithful comrades who share the same destiny with him and make a long journey of the Songun revolution to the last.
To build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation is the fighting goal of the Republic and the fixed will of the Workers' Party and people of Korea.
The invincible military power guarantees the building of a great prosperous powerful nation. Only when the army is strong, is it possible to firmly protect the gains of the revolution and successfully push ahead with economic construction.
All the officers and men of the People's Army should firmly hold the arms of the revolution and justice given by the Party, safeguard the leadership of the revolution headed by him at the cost of their lives and defend socialism of Korean style.
The drive to build a great prosperous powerful socialist country is a struggle to convert the Republic into an economic power. All the people should possess the fixed fighting spirit and grit and progressive style of work to demonstrate the motherland of Songun to the world and build and create all things as he does. Only then is it possible to turn the country into a great prosperous powerful country in the near future.
Independence is the life and soul of the Republic. The DPRK will, in the future, too, not make even the slightest concession in defending the supreme interests of the country and the nation, but fight against the imperialists to the bitter end in a do-or-die spirit. Invincible is the just cause of the Korean people who are fighting in firm unity with the people of all the countries advocating independence in the invariable idea of the foreign policy: independence, peace and friendship.
Minju Joson underscores the need to fully demonstrate the dignity and might of the Republic under his guidance of Songun.

U.S. Urged to Make Bold Decision to Withdraw Its Troops from South Korea

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- The Korean people have been suffering the tragedy and disgrace of national division and living in instability and uneasiness for nearly 60 years owing to the U.S. imperialists' occupation of south Korea and their policy of division and policy to stifle the DPRK. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed commentary on the lapse of 58 years since their military occupation of south Korea on September 8, 1945.
    It goes on:
The U.S. troops' occupation of south Korea must no longer be allowed in the new century.
Paragraph 60 of Article IV of the Armistice Agreement stipulates that within three months after the AA is signed, a political conference of a higher level of both sides be held to settle through negotiation the question of the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Korea.
China completely withdrew its troops from the Korean front in 1958 according to the requirement of the AA and no foreign troops stay in the northern half of Korea.
Fifteen countries of those which had sent their troops to the UN Forces, except the United States, pulled their troops out of south Korea.
There is no justification or excuse for the U.S. to keep its troops in south Korea today when the Cold War came to an end and the Soviet Union collapsed.
The United States is escalating nuclear pressure on the DPRK under the pretext of "nuclear threat" from it and bringing the DPRK-U.S. belligerent relations to an explosive phase. This has carried the situation on the Korean peninsula into an extreme pitch of strain. The situation is very dangerous and the outbreak of the second Korean war is a matter of time. The withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea has not been raised so urgently as now. It is a touchstone judging and verifying whether the U.S. has willingness to sign a non-aggression treaty with the DPRK and drop its hostile policy to stifle the DPRK, or not. It is a historical time the U.S. pulled its troops out of south Korea with "honor", not losing its face.
If the U.S. truly wants to prevent a war on the Korean peninsula and ensure peace there and improve the DPRK-U.S. relations, it should make a bold decision to withdraw its troops from south Korea at an early date.

Japan's Disgraceful Behaviour Assailed

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Japan impertinently raised the "issue of abduction" at the six-way talks on the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S., thus marring the nature of the talks and confusing them. Minju Joson today in a signed commentary assails this disgraceful behaviour. Japan, not pleased with any moves to settle the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S., is making desperate efforts to bar the talks from making any progress in a bid to achieve its political and military aims, the commentary says and continues:
If the nuclear issue is settled between the DPRK and the U.S. to ease the tensions on the Korean peninsula, Japan will be deprived of the pretext it has so far used for its moves to emerge a military power, in other words "threat from north Korea". This cannot but be a blow to the Japanese reactionaries keen to emerge a military power at an early date to pave the way for overseas expansion.
Another important aim sought by Japan is to please its U.S. master by zealously participating in the U.S. moves to stifle the DPRK and thus gain a political profit in return for that.
The Japanese reactionaries do not hesitate to challenge the aspiration and desire of the international community for the settlement of the nuclear issue in order to meet their political interests. They are no more than political impostors and dwarfs.
Their act of imprudently handling such a politically sensitive issue to meet their immediate interests is like pricking their own eyes.
The Japanese reactionaries had better behave themselves, bearing deep in mind that their reckless act would only compel the DPRK to take strong counter-measures.

DPRK, Symbol of National Dignity and Sovereignty

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is the symbol of the dignity and sovereignty of the country and the nation. Since the foundation of the DPRK on September 9, Juche 37 (1948), the Korean people have become the true masters of the state power for the first time in their 5,000-year-long history.
The DPRK, though only two years old, won a great victory in the just Fatherland Liberation War (June 1950-July 1953) against the U.S. imperialists, who were boasting of being "the strongest" in the world, and demonstrated its dignity and honor to the world.
It has never allowed any attempt to infringe upon and violate its sovereignty but reliably defended the security of the country and people, frustrating the U.S. imperialists' incessant moves to start another war.
In January 1968 when the spy ship "Pueblo" incident occurred, it, subjected to the U.S. imperialists' threat to launch a war, took a firm stand to answer the enemy's retaliation with retaliation and all-out war with all-out war, thus bringing them to their knees. It also dealt severe blows to them through the U.S. Escort Ship No. 56 incident in January 1967, U.S. reconnaissance plane EC-121 incident in April 1969 and Panmunjom incident in August 1976.
In March 1993 when the U.S. imperialists' efforts to eliminate the DPRK from the globe reached the extremes, it took such decisive steps as issuing an order of the supreme commander of the Korean People's Army to put the whole country, entire people and all the army on a semi-war footing and declaring the DPRK's withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty in order to defend the supreme interests of the country and nation.
The DPRK's prestige in external relations has considerably been enhanced though the imperialists have continued trying to isolate and stifle it.
The DPRK has ambassadorial-level diplomatic relations with nearly 160 countries.
The Korean people are absolutely supporting the DPRK, a genuine state of the people that has defended the nation's dignity and sovereignty with credit.

The company also manufactures white porcelains by inheriting the tradition established during the Ri Dynasty. They are various in shape, kind and color (white gray, white blue and pure white).
The porcelains manufactured by U Chi Son, Im Sa Jun and other competent ceramic artists of the company are popular in foreign markets, too.

Spokesman for Foreign Ministry on U.S. Sleight of Hand

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- The U.S. sleight of hand intended to misinterpret the just stand of the DPRK would only render the situation more complicated and uncontrollable, says a spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry answering a question put by KCNA today. He says:
Some officials of the U.S. administration are reportedly spreading misinformation to give impression that the U.S. is preparing for a significant change in its approach to north Korea, asserting that at the recent six-way talks held in Beijing the U.S. expressed its willingness to take measures ranging from the phased lift of sanctions to the conclusion of a final peace pact once the DPRK begins dismantling its nuclear weapons facilities.
This is, however, nothing but a sheer lie the U.S. faked up to flee from its responsibility for bringing to rupture the hard-won six-way talks, a result of the DPRK's magnanimity and good faith.
Referring in detail to the six-way talks, he said that no one can doubt about the DPRK's option to increase its nuclear deterrent force as a self-defensive means, now that it has become clear that the U.S. does not have any willingness to make a switchover in its hostile policy toward the DPRK and invariably seeks to disarm it at any cost.
