Japan's Anti-DPRK and Anti-Chongryon Moves under Fire

Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- Right-wing gangsters of Japan committed such a grave provocation as swarming to a port where ship Mangyongbong-92 was expected to enter on Sept. 4 and hurling abuses at the ship after its arrival and defaming the DPRK flag. Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary dismisses this as a very serious provocation in the history of the DPRK-Japan relations as it discloses to the world what a dangerous phase the Japanese reactionaries' hostility and confrontation with the DPRK and the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) have reached.
    The commentary continues:
We can never remain a mere onlooker to the frantic anti-DPRK and anti-Chongryon provocations committed in Japan as they are getting intolerable despite the repeated warnings of the DPRK and Chongryon.
The recent incident was also committed at the tacit connivance of the Japanese authorities as was the case with all other previous incidents. The recent incident brought into bolder relief the Japanese reactionaries' vicious and sinister aim to deliberately and systematically foster rowdyism of right-wing gangsters under the pretext of "people's sentiment" and thus fan up the atmosphere of enmity towards the DPRK in the Japanese society and pursue the confrontation with it to the last.
The Japanese authorities can never evade the responsibility for the recent serious anti-DPRK provocation.
The Japanese authorities should bear full responsibility for all the consequences to be entailed by its provocative anti-DPRK and anti-Chongryon moves and thoroughly probe the truth behind the provocation, punish those responsible for it and take an immediate measure to prevent the recurrence of such incident.
We will closely follow the Japanese reactionaries' future action.

He made a particular mention of the DPRK women soccer players who won a spectacular success rare in the world history of soccer games by beating all rival teams without losing a single goal and thus demonstrated to the world once again the might of Songun Korea.
    He continued:
During the Universiad the delegation displayed to the full the spirit and the might of Juche Korea and greatly helped demonstrate to the world the Koreans' faith and will to achieve the country's reunification at an early date under the banner of the historic June 15 joint declaration. Korean People's Strong Desire for Reunification

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- The Korean people fully demonstrated their strong desire for reunification once again through the 22nd Universiad held in Taegu, south Korea, from August 21 to 31. Ultra-right conservatives of south Korea raised a hullabaloo against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Seoul on August 15 in an attempt to prevent its participation in the universiad.
On August 24 and 26 when the universiad was going on, anti-reunification forces were engaged in insidious activities to hurt the dignity of the DPRK and obstruct its participation in the games.
But the universiad was successfully held and the nation's ardent aspiration after reunification was elevated thanks to the DPRK's magnanimity and patriotic decision to promote national reconciliation and independent reunification with the concerted efforts of the Korean people in the north and the south.
The athletes of the north and the south marched together in the opening ceremony with the Korean peninsula flag in their van amid the playing of the song "Arirang". They demonstrated to the world that the Korean people are the same nation with the same blood, language and culture.
The brisk activities of the students' cheering group from the DPRK stirred the nation's desire for reunification.
The venues of the games were rocked by the cheering groups of the north and the south shouting in chorus "We are one," "National reunification," etc.
They enthusiastically cheered the athletes of the north and the south, waving Korean peninsula flags.
A grand north-south joint art performance for national reconciliation and peace was given in Taegu on August 29 in an atmosphere overflowing with warm compatriotic feelings.
The facts show that no matter how desperately the ultra-right conservatives of south Korea may try, can they never hold in check the desire of the nation for reunification.
