39th anti-U.S. solidarity rally held in S. Korea

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The 39th anti-U.S. solidarity rally took place at the citizens' festival in Kwanghwamun, Seoul, on Dec. 10, according to a news report. Present there were members of the people's action for revision of the South Korea-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement, the All-People Measure Committee for Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, Girl Students Killed by a U.S. Armoured Car, the headquarters of the movement for return of the U.S. base in Ryongsan and the bereaved families of the girl students.
A letter of protest to U.S. President Bush made public at the rally said that Bush's indirect expression of "regret" at the death of the two girl students is no more than a deception to temporarily calm down the anger of the South Korean people at the verdict of not guilty given to the GI killers.
The letter urged Bush to immediately withdraw the reckless policy to stifle the north and the military countermeasure against the nuclear issue of the north, which threaten the destiny of the whole Korean nation, and stop hindering and interfering in inter-Korean exchange.

Seoul tour of Armitage condemned in S. Korea

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- A press conference was reportedly held in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul on Dec. 10 to denounce the U.S. deputy secretary of state's trip to Seoul. It was sponsored by the joint action for peace against war grouping at least 600 civic and public organizations.
Jang Yu Sik, joint secretary general of the citizens' solidarity for democratic society, read out a press release.
The press release said that at a time when anti-U.S. sentiment is mounting at home and abroad Armitage's junket to Seoul is aimed to carry through the hostile policy towards the north.
    It went on:
His junket, timed to coincide with the presidential election, is supposed to force servitude for South Korea-U.S. cooperation upon the next-term President of South Korea and put pressure on the recently ever-growing anti-U.S. spirit. The organization will firmly solidarize with the peace-loving forces in all parts of South Korea to check the U.S. hegemonic war attempt and ensure peace in the Korean Peninsula and the rest of the world.
After the press conference, the participants visited the place where Buddhists were on a hunger sit-in strike and encouraged them.

Slogan of Kirgyz party organ changed

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- A plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kirgyzstan on Dec. 4 decided to replace the basic slogan of its organ Komunist "Workers of the Whole World, Unite" with "Live not merely for today but for tomorrow" on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's election as Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army. Usupbayev, Secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of Kirgyzstan, officially informing the DPRK embassy of the adoption of this decision, said that party members vowed to struggle under the slogan advanced by Kim Jong Il.

U.S.-South Korea war confab denounced

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued a statement on Dec. 12. In the statement he, in the name of the whole nation desirous of the peace and security of the country, bitterly denounced the war confab of the warhawks of the United States and South Korea held in Washington on Dec. 6, regarding it as a blatant encroachment upon the sovereignty of the DPRK. Recalling that the bellicose military forces of the United States and South Korea had a dangerous war confab aimed to mount a military attack on the DPRK at the 34th U.S.-South Korea "annual security consultative meeting", pulling up the DPRK over its "nuclear issue", he said:
The U.S. and South Korean bellicose elements discussed even a "proposal for military sanctions", clamoring about "deterrent forces". This is little short of a declaration of war against the DPRK.
Our army and people will never pardon those who dare encroach upon their dignity and sovereignty.
They should know that if a war breaks out on the Korean Peninsula, South Korea can neither escape from disasters nor can the United States across the ocean get off scot-free.
No matter where war provocateurs are entrenched, they can never dodge the DPRK's strike.
The U.S. bellicose forces and their followers should ponder over our warning and stop acting rashly.
The South Korean military warhawks will be wholly responsible for such treacherous acts as getting involved in "military sanctions" under the U.S. pressure, turning their back from the national cause to pool the efforts of the Koreans in the north and the south and pave the way for the peace and reunification of the country.

Arrest of Korean resident in U.S. denounced

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The Korean Council of Religionists (KCR) in the name of all the religionists in the northern half of Korea bitterly denounces the U.S. for arresting a Korean resident in the U.S. as it is an undisguised action to insult, mock at and will Koreans, said a spokesman for the KCR in a statement on Dec. 12. U.S. police walked away Hong Sok Jong, a Korean woman residing in the U.S., in handcuffs after knocking her down in broad daylight under the unreasonable pretext of "interfering with the exercise of official duties", while she was staging a sit-in strike together with the America visiting group of South Koreans in front of the White House.
Such fascist tyranny committed by the U.S., styling itself a "state that respects human rights", clearly proves once again that the U.S. is an empire of evil and a country with the poorest human rights record, the statement said, and continued:
The U.S., not satisfied with the killings of Koreans in South Korea, openly insults, persecutes and oppresses Koreans even in its mainland.
This is not the issue confined to the brutally slain two girl students of South Korea and the unreasonably detained Korean resident but an act of infringing upon the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation.
The reality calls for putting an end to the U.S. high-handed acts of imposing only damage and sufferings upon the whole Korean nation.
All the religionist organizations and religionists and all other people of South Korea should not take even a single step for retreat or concession in the anti-U.S. struggle but merge their voices supporting the America visiting group of South Koreans including priest Han Sang Ryol and the Korean residents in the U.S. in their just actions so as to force the U.S. to pay for the blood shed by fellow countrymen, put an end to the U.S. atrocities and outrages and protect the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation to the last.

Ever-mounting anti-Americanism in S. Korea

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- 13 youth and student organizations of South Korea including the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils and the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification, and the group of the chairmen of general student councils of 19 universities in Seoul including Konkuk University on Dec. 9 issued a joint statement titled "conclude a non-aggression treaty and the U.S. Forces that killed schoolgirls, withdraw at once", according to a news report. The statement said:
Upon hearing the news of the shocking trial at which the assailant judges the assailant, the whole nation is enraged at the highhanded practice of the U.S. and the deplorable reality in this land subject to the U.S.
It urged the U.S. to immediately declare the verdict of not guilty given to the GI killers of the schoolgirls invalid and transfer the jurisdiction to the South Korean Ministry of Justice and demanded an official apology from bush and the withdrawal of the U.S. military bases and troops from South Korea.
Meanwhile, the All-People Measure Committee for Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, Girl Students Killed by a U.S. Armored Car held a press conference on Dec. 9 at which it confirmed and announced the all-people action program. The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification has conducted propaganda activities to denounce the GI murderers for the last three days.
And Jin Kwan and other Buddhists of the All-Buddhists Measure Committee for Preventing GI Crimes and revising the SOFA and believers entered into a hunger sit-in strike on Dec. 9.

U.S. chiefly to blame for violating DPRK-U.S. agreement

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The United States is busy floating misinformation in a bid to give impression that the DPRK violated the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework (AF). Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article explaining its truth says: The U.S. anti-DPRK racket over its nuclear issue can never be justified as it is a far-fetched one bereft of neither scientific accuracy nor objectivity.
Over the past 8 years the DPRK has done what it should do under the AF while suffering a huge loss of electricity and undergoing economic difficulties in the wake of freezing its independent nuclear power system.
Such being the stark fact, the U.S. is now keen on creating an atmosphere of putting international pressure upon the DPRK while spreading misinformation that the DPRK violated the AF.
This is preposterous and profound confusing of right and wrong.
To plainly speak, it is the U.S., not the DPRK that has systematically violated the AF and finally put it in the danger of collapse.
The DPRK is now exposed to greater nuclear threats from the U.S. than when the AF was reached. The U.S. has become more undisguised in its nuclear threat and blackmail under the pretext of the DPRK's "nuclear issue."
It is entirely attributable to the reckless row kicked up by the U.S. to stifle the DPRK with nukes after singling out it as a target of the U.S. nuclear attack that the AF has collapsed and the Korean Peninsula is riddled with a dangerous nuclear crisis.
The U.S. is not entitled to talk about the DPRK's "breach of the AF" as it is chiefly to blame for ditching it.
Recently the DPRK advanced a proposal for concluding a non-aggression treaty with the U.S. as part of the efforts to save the AF from its collapse but the U.S. responded to the DPRK's reasonable proposal with a decision to stop the supply of heavy oil to the DPRK. this glaringly revealed the true colours of the U.S. as a violator of the AF.
The U.S.-led construction of "light water reactors on paper" will serve as clear historical evidence laying bare the U.S. true colours as violator of the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework.
The U.S. can never conceal its true nature as a criminal who ditched the AF like a thief calling crying "stop the thief".

Art show of people's artists

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- An art show of Kim Chun Jon, Ri Chang and Kim cCang Gil, people's artists, is going on at the Pyongyang International House of Culture. On display at the show are some 140 art pieces including Korean paintings "Mangyongdae in Spring" and "Mt. Paektu Stalled in Snowstorm" and the oil painting "Great Fortune of the Nation."
They are rich in coloration, polished in touch and delicate in artistic talent.
Kim Chun Jon has created more than 1,000 excellent art pieces. Typical of them is the Korean painting "Peace".
His works won great popularity at art shows held in other countries for their poetic depiction, soft coloration and profound contents.
Ri Chang has created more than 1,200 art works including over ten national properties.
Kim Chang Gil, an able oil painter, has successfully created a lot of art works including the semi-panoramic picture "The Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung Guiding Metro Construction" and the oil painting "Spring of 1939".

U.S. cynical ploy under fire

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The U.S. crafty hoax and cynical ploy will never work on the DPRK, says Rodong Sinmun today commenting on recent remarks made by President Bush and Secretary of State Powell that the U.S. will not fight a war against North Korea and it has no plan to conduct military action against North Korea. A news analyst continues:
What they said is sheer hypocrisy and no more than window dressing intended to cover up their true aim of aggression. The Bush administration has become insolent enough to escalate its offensive to stifle the DPRK with nukes on a groundless charge that the DPRK has pushed forward a "nuclear program". The U.S.-led madcap joint military exercises targeted against the DPRK are going on in and around South Korea.
These anti-DPRK hostile acts are putting its sovereignty and right to existence in jeopardy and pushing the DPRK-U.S. relations to the brink of a war.
It is the true aim sought by the U.S. to stifle the DPRK by force of arms under the "Peace" Veil. In a Nutshell, "No War with North Korea" touted by the U.S. is nothing but a call for aggression and war.
The DPRK has always been highly vigilant against the U.S. double-dealing tactics.
The DPRK will keep itself fully ready for counter-military action, given that the Bush administration is still watching for a chance to invade it.

DPRK Foreign Ministry condemns U.S. piracy

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry on Friday issued a statement condemning the U.S. for its piracy wantonly violating the DPRK sovereignty. The statement said:
The U.S. captured the DPRK trading cargo ship Sosan in broad daylight when the ship was sailing in the open seas off Yemen on Dec. 10. The U.S. even mobilized warships and warplanes of Spain for the capture.
Soon after it was brought to light that its capture had no legal ground but wantonly violated the routine trade between countries, the U.S. was compelled to send the ship back.
This is an unpardonable piracy that wantonly encroached upon the sovereignty of the DPRK.
As far as the DPRK's trading ship is concerned, it was carrying missile components and some building materials to be delivered to Yemen under a legal trade contract and was on a normal voyage along the publicly recognized sea route, having all the navigation conditions consistent with international law and usage.
The DPRK has already clarified that it is not only producing missiles to defend itself from the U.S. constant military threat but exporting them to earn foreign currency.
The ship was, therefore, aware that it was watched and chased by U.S. military intelligence agencies, but continued its voyage as planned.
Knowing about this better than anyone else, the U.S. mobilized even its satellite forces to commit a deliberate military provocation. This clearly shows what an extent the Bush administration has reached in its undisguised moves to stifle the DPRK.
What should not be overlooked is that the U.S. is becoming more pronounced in its anti-DPRK smear campaign and its efforts to create an atmosphere of pressurizing it, dubbing it "exporter of mass destruction weapons," in a bid to evade its responsibility, far from making an open apology for having seriously violated the DPRK's sovereignty.
The U.S. provocation can never be justified in any case as it is typical state-sponsored terrorism. And this clearly proves how it is brazen-faced for the U.S. to list other countries as members of an "axis of evil".
The United States should apologize for its high-handed piracy committed against the DPRK's trading ship and duly compensate for all the mental and material damage done to the ship and its crew.
It is something very regretful and disappointing that Spain which has normal state relations with the DPRK blindly acted a servant of the U.S. pirate, unbecoming on its status.
The United States is working hard to isolate and stifle the DPRK at any cost by keeping the label of "rogue state" attached to it. But it is a dream-dream. It will have to be wholly responsible for all the consequences to be entailed by its evermore reckless moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK and stepped-up hostile policy towards it.

WPK delegation returns

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The delegation of the Workers' Party of Korea led by Jong Ha Chol, Secretary of the WPK Central Committee, returned from its visit to Cuba today. It was met at the airport by Pak Yong Sok, chairman of the Central Control Commission of the WPK, officials concerned and Esteban Lobaina Romero, Cuban Ambassador to the DPRK.
The delegation left Havana on Dec. 8.
It was seen off at the airport by Cuban officials concerned including Rolando Alfonso Borge, head of the ideological department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and the DPRK Ambassador to Cuba.

KCNA on U.S. anti-DPRK nuclear campaign

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The U.S. has again pulled up the DPRK over what it called violation of the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework (AF). It is now letting loose a spate of absurd remarks that improved DPRK-U.S. relations would be impossible unless the DPRK scraps its "nuclear program" and it is necessary to put continued pressure upon it to force it to abide by the international agreement. The Bush administration mobilizes all senior and junior officials of the White House, the departments of state and defense in such smear campaign and plugs even its allies and dishonest elements of the IAEA into it, leading the situation to an extreme pitch of tension.
Such disgusting move is intended to cover up the shameless colors of the U.S. as the very one chiefly responsible for the breach of the AF and shirk the blame for having dodged the DPRK's just proposal for concluding a non-aggression treaty with it. It is an intolerable mockery of the world community.
It is needless to mention that the AF has been reduced to a dead document by the United States as it unilaterally decided on Nov. 14 to stop the supply of heavy oil to the DPRK that had been under way according to the AF.
The U.S. laudmouthed DPRK's "admission of nuclear development" which it cited as the only evidence proving the latter's "violation" of the AF is nothing but a phraseology arbitrarily used by the U.S. President's special envoy after his visit to the DPRK.
The United States was shameless enough to deliberately reprocess its dialogue partner's warning made at inter-state talks as "admission" in a bid to kick up a nuclear racket and mislead public opinion.
While launching such nuclear campaign, the Bush administration brought the AF to the verge of collapse and actually threatened the DPRK with nukes. Even under this worst situation, the DPRK proposed the U.S. to conclude a non-aggression treaty as a solution to the nuclear issue, exercising its self-restraint to the full.
However, the U.S. arrogantly responded to this constructive proposal with a decision to halt the supply of heavy oil. The facts clearly proved that the main purpose of the U.S. was to disarm the DPRK and stifle its system.
It is needless to say that this highhanded and reckless attempt of the U.S. was the main factor of compelling the DPRK to resume the operation and construction of its nuclear facilities at once.
Whether the DPRK will refreeze its nuclear facilities or not entirely depends on the attitude of the United States.
The DPRK will watch the future attitude of the U.S.
