U.S. hostile policy towards DPRK denounced

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- Political parties and organizations of Bangladesh including the Workers' Party and the Communist Party issued a joint statement on Nov. 27. The statement said that the moves of imperialists against the DPRK would go busted as in the past and the people in Bangladesh and the rest of the world would stand firm on the side of the Korean people.
    It went on:
The world people denounce the Bush administration for listing the DPRK as part of an "axis of evil".
The U.S. imperialists have deployed nuclear weapons in South Korea and incessantly threatened the DPRK, which is a source of the U.S. loudmouthed "nuclear issue" of the DPRK.
The DPRK-proposed conclusion of a non-aggression treaty between the DPRK and the U.S. is the most realistic and reasonable way of achieving peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
The U.S. authorities have neither reason nor justification to refuse the proposal.
The DPRK Government, army and people are in a position to defend their sovereignty and are capable of doing so.

Verdict of not guilty given to GIs flailed

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- Citizens in South Korea made a cyber attack on the White House in protest against the verdict of not guilty given to the GI criminals who brutally drove an armored car over two girl students to death, according to the ABC of the U.S. on Dec. 2. The attack came against the background of infiltration into the U.S. military bases and march toward the U.S. embassy in Seoul of people of different social standings.
The attack was led by an alliance grouping 130 civic organizations and the number of the participants in the attack was uncertain, the ABC said, adding:
After the U.S. military court gave a verdict of not guilty to the GI criminals, the anti-U.S. sentiment is growing stronger in South Korea.
The second attack will soon come, according to the ABC.

New measure committee formed in S. Korea

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The North Chungchong Provincial Measure Committee against the killing of girl students by a U.S. armoured car grouping 15 civic organizations in North Chungchong Province was inaugurated in Chongju on Nov. 30 with due ceremony, according to Seoul-based Yonhap News. At the inaugural ceremony, the organization released a statement.
The U.S. military court's trial of the killers of the two girl students was totally invalid as it was prearranged and the U.S. Forces side should transfer the jurisdiction to the South Korean side for a fair trial, the statement said.
It demanded the U.S. set forth a basic way for putting an end to the crimes of the U.S. troops and totally revise the shackling South Korea-U.S. status of forces agreement. It declared that the organization would conduct an all-people signature campaign and a protest demonstration every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in Chongju until its demands are met.

U.S. accused of ditching AF

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- It is quite natural for the DPRK to have armed forces for self-defence in order to cope with the constant threat posed by the United States after singling out the former as part of an "axis of evil" and a target of its preemptive nuclear attack. Renan Raffo Munoz, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Peruvian Communist Party, said this in a lecture on the situation of the Korean Peninsula on November 27.
    He went on:
The situation in the region is festering due to the bellicose Bush administration's hostile policy toward the DPRK.
The U.S. asserts that dialogue is impossible and the DPRK-Japan and inter-Korean relations will be in great jeopardy unless its "nuclear issue" is solved.
This brigandish logic is intended to disarm the DPRK and attain its purpose.
The U.S., persistently dodging the DPRK's positive proposals including an offer for concluding a non-aggression treaty between them, is insisting on its unilateral, brigandish and absurd assertion that the DPRK should scrap its "nuclear program" before dialogue.
It announced a decision to stop the supply of heavy oil to the DPRK from December, which has been under way under the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework.
The U.S. is, therefore, totally to blame for ditching the AF.
The U.S. unwarranted assertion and its behavior against the DPRK are touching off the world peace-loving people's resentment.
The U.S. is well advised to face up to the trend of the times and behave with discretion.

Exhibition of DPRK stamps held in Austria

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- An exhibition of DPRK stamps took place in Vienna on November 25. Displayed at the exhibition hall were stamps showing the revolutionary history of President Kim Il Sung and achievements under the army-based leadership of Kim Jong Il and the superiority of Korean socialist system.
Speakers at the opening ceremony said that Korea has traditionally developed culture from olden times and values and develops the culture of its own style. They said that the Austrian people will come to know well about resourceful and peace-loving Korea through the exhibition.
Noting that the stamps deal with looks and the spirit of Korea, they expressed belief that the exhibition will serve as an occasion to promote the economic and cultural development and boost the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

Korean people praised as dignified people

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- Ket Kiettisak, Vice-Minister of Justice of Laos, who visited the DPRK, said that the Korean people are the most dignified people who are led by the great men absolutely revered and lauded by all people. Seeing foreigners visiting the Kumsusan Memorial Palace, I came to deeply feel again that President Kim Il Sung always lives in the hearts of progressive humankind as the sun of Juche, he said, and continued:
The progressive humankind boundlessly adores and follows Kim Il Sung.
Every stone contributed to the tower of the Juche idea carries the reverence of the world people for him.
General Secretary Kim Jong Il has wisely led the building of great monumental edifices to glorify his immortal exploits for all ages.
Among them are the Tower of the Juche idea and the Arch of Triumph.
Victory and glory are always in store for the Korean people who vigorously advance under the banner of the Juche idea.

Mass-based literature in Korea

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- Mass-based literature has made a rapid progress in Korea. Every year more than 20,000 literary pieces written by amateur writers have been presented to prize-winning competitions and hundreds of them won prizes.
This year some 1,500 works have been published.
Joining in the literary activities are workers, peasants, office workers, schoolchildren, students, servicemen and even housewives.
Among them are children below 10 and aged people far above 60.
In Korea the mass-based literature entered a new stage of development in the 1970s under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
He advanced a policy of putting literature and art on a mass basis and provided all necessary conditions for widespread creative activities among working people.
A regular system of literary activities has been established in all units and the role of amateur writers and their groups enhanced considerably.
The "June 4 Literature Prize" was enacted and those who wrote works excellent in ideological and artistic value are given a high appreciation.
It inspires working people with creative activities.
Many novels, short stories and other literary works written by amateur writers have been published as collections of mass-based literary works and printed in newspapers and magazines.
    Some of them are cinematized.

U.S. hypocrisy under fire

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The United States is keen to create an atmosphere for diplomatic pressure upon the DPRK, turning its face away from the latter's proposal for concluding a non-aggression treaty. This proves that President Bush's remark that the U.S. has no will to invade North Korea is sheer hypocrisy. The Arab leadership of the international front against Zionism in Jordan said this in a statement on Nov. 24.
Expressing its full support to the DPRK's stand on the nuclear issue, the statement said the U.S. should bear in mind that its rival is the indomitable people who are ready to die for the sake of their ideal.
Meanwhile, the Arab Committee of Christianity for Peace in Jordan in a statement on Nov. 25 noted that the U.S. policy toward the DPRK is aimed to deprive it of its sovereignty and its identity and render it powerless so as to invade people's Korea and destroy its system and the historic socialist gains made by the Korean people.
The present U.S. policy is also aimed at recovering her economy and saving the face of its administration from the international dilemma and increasing isolation caused by political setback, it said, adding that the Arab Christians will not spare their efforts to expose the campaigns of the imperialist enemies and forces for domination against the DPRK.

U.S. nuclear racket under fire

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The United States seeks several sinister aims in getting more vociferous about the "nuclear threat from North Korea". This is pushing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to an extremely dangerous phase.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
The U.S. is getting more clamorous about the "nuclear threat" from the DPRK because it calculates that its row can help internationally ostracize the DPRK as a dangerous state and a criminal responsible for nuclear proliferation and carry out its policy to isolate and stifle it with ease as the nuclear issue is a sensitive one of the world's deep concern.
As the U.S. is wholly to blame for unilaterally scrapping the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework it seeks a way out in escalating its racket over the "nuclear threat from North Korea," i.e. its "nuclear development." This is also designed to save its face as regards the issue of the Korean Peninsula and thus turn the situation in the region favorable for its purpose.
Many countries of the world are supporting and welcoming the developments on the Korean Peninsula and promoting their interests swimming with the trend of the times. But it is only the U.S. which has pursued confrontation. This is rendering the U.S. further marginalized in the world.
It was against this backdrop that the U.S. kicked up a racket over the "nuclear threat from North Korea" in a bid to tarnish the DPRK's international authority and prestige and create an environment for internationally isolating and pressurizing it.
The U.S. mad-cap nuclear ruckus is, in the final analysis, a premeditated and mean operation to justify its moves to mount a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK and create favorable conditions for its military domination over the Korean Peninsula under the pretext of its "nuclear issue."

Visiting group of Koreans stages strong protest in U.S.

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- A visiting group of Koreans staged a strong protest against the GIs' killing of the schoolgirls in Manhattan area, New York, on Tuesday, according to Seoul-based Yonhap News and MBC. The group had a press conference at a centre in front of the UN headquarters.
They explained how the two schoolgirls were killed, problems raised in the investigation and the course of the trial and the South Korean people's protest actions.
Recalling that they had come to the U.S. to demand a personal and open apology of president bush for the murder, a probe into the truth behind it and the punishment of those responsible for it and the revision of the shackling South Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA)", etc, they asked the media to pay attention to this issue and cooperate in its solution.
The co-delegate of the international action council, a U.S. organization for human rights against war and an organization for solidarity with the all-people measure committee, said the protest against the killing of the South Korean schoolgirls and the movement for the revision of the SOFA are of great significance in view of the mounting opposition to U.S. Forces' presence in Asia and other regions.
At the end of the press conference the members of the visiting group marched through streets together with those concerned in the International Action Council and the New York Association to Support the All-People Measure Committee, distributing literature among passers-by.
At times square they staged a demonstration in front of a U.S. military base, holding a photograph of the place where the murder was committed and others.
The visiting group also held a symposium at the International Human Rights Centre to seek ways of getting international sympathy for the slain schoolgirls and showed a videotape on the killing with those concerned in the non-governmental organizations attending.
That day, the group held a protest rally and a photo exhibition in front of the UN headquarters and conveyed a letter calling for UN concern and measures related to the incident to the UN Secretary General.

Mass rally in South Korea

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- A people's rally for 2002 was held in Seoul on November 30. The rally was attended by over 4,000 people including workers, peasants, the poor and students.
The rally was addressed by representatives of different organizations such as the South Korean Federation of Peasant Association, the South Korean Alliance of the Poor, the South Korean Federation of Democratic Taxi Drivers Unions, the Government Employees Union and the Public Health and Medical Workers Union, the Railway Workers Union and the South Korean Council of Youth Organizations and the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils.
A resolution read at the rally said that the demand of the people is to retake the right to existence from the foreign forces and lead a true life, which is the most elementary to restore national independence free from new imperialist high-handedness of the United States.
The 10-point demand of the people will be achieved at any cost through a vigorous solidarity struggle, based on solidarity with workers and peasants and participated in by popular masses, the resolution stressed.
After the rally the participants joined citizens who held a candle-light rally to march from Jongro to the U.S. embassy.
Holding candle-light in their hands, they shouted "punish the murderous U.S. troops" and "ensure peace march".
The demonstrators got angry about the U.S. military trial giving a verdict of not guilty to GI criminals and strongly demanded total revision of the unequal South Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement" and punishment of the criminals.
