GIS' mass killings of Koreans

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Nearly half a century has passed since the ceasefire in Korea. But the shuddering atrocities committed by "civilized persons" in the U.S. during the 3-year war are still fresh in the memory of the Korean people.
Commander of the 8th U.S. army walker during its operation ordered his aggression soldiers to mercilessly kill everyone irrespective of children and old men and women.
This order was carried out wherever GIS went in Korea.
Mass killings committed by them in Sinchon county were beyond human imagination in brutality and cruelty.
They killed more than 35,000 civilians or a quarter of its population in 50 odd days of their occupation.
Not content with shooting, beating and throttling civilians to death and burying them alive, they used all medieval methods of killing such as gouging their eyes and skinning them off before dismembering them by use of saws or driving nails into their heads to death.
GIS killed 120,000 civilians in Hwanghae Province alone.
Their mass killings reduced many islets in Kangwon and north Phyongan provinces to uninhabited ones.
When their plan to seize all parts of the northern half of Korea went awry, the U.S. imperialists took many civilians to South Korea, threatening that they would drop a-bombs over them. As the way of their retreat was blocked, they killed at least 25,000 civilians in a county of Kangwon Province alone. At least one million people were brutally killed by GIS in South Korea from the day of the outbreak of the war to September 15, 1951.

Withdrawal of U.S. troops from S. Korea urged

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Papers today say that the U.S., moves to stifle socialist Korea by force of arms can never be realized. Rodong Sinmun in a signed commentary says that the U.S. imperialists' defeat in the Korean War ignited by them in 1950 clearly showed that Korea can never be conquered by force of arms.
Noting that all the a aggressive moves and crimes committed by the U.S. imperialists in South Korea for nearly half a century since the Korean War proved that they are warmongers and the very ones blocking peace and reunification of Korea, the commentary says:
The Bush bellicose forces keen on world supremacy are driving the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war, going against the need of the times, oblivious of the historical lesson.
The Korean people regard the sovereignty of the country and dignity of the nation as their life and soul.
Thanks to the great army-based leadership the DPRK is fully ready to destroy any stronghold of the aggressors mounting a preemptive attack on it.
If the U.S. ignites a new war against the DPRK at any cost, it will only suffer an irretrievable defeat and disgrace.
The U.S. is well advised to make a bold decision to drop its hostile policy towards the DPRK and withdraw its troops from South Korea.
The U.S. forces should quit South Korea of their own accord before being driven out of it.
Minju Joson in a signed commentary says that the U.S. military pull back from South Korea would be the only positive ever to be made by the U.S. styling itself the world's "only superpower" to peace and reunification of Korea.

Rodong Sinmun on army-based leadership

It goes on: The army-centered leadership of leader Kim Jong Il, endowed with revolutionary faith and will, is based on the do-or-die spirit that no force on earth can defeat those who are ready to die and firm confidence of future and revolutionary optimism that while there is life, there is hope.
The sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the nation depend on the faith and will of the leader. the historic experience clearly teaches that if a socialist political leader is weak in his faith and will, he is bound to yield to threat from the imperialists and lead the socialist cause to ruin.
The years of army-based leadership provided by Kim Jong Il have been hard times when he had to weather out unprecedented trials and difficulties.
The people's army and people of Korea have proved to be strong men of revolutionary faith who absolutely follow the leader and brave death in defending Korean-style socialism and personifies of the strong will to overcome any trails and difficulties in the course of upholding his army-based leadership with loyalty.
The WPK's army-based policy is not a temporary state policy aimed to defend the country from the enemy's moves to isolate the DPRK but a great policy based on revolutionary optimism of Kim Jong Il, who is visualizing the future of a prosperous nation.
Korean-style socialism is ever-victorious and the country has a bright future of a powerful nation thanks to the great army-based leadership of Kim Jong Il based on his resolute determination and firm faith of sure victory.

Koreans called upon to frustrate U.S. moves for aggression and war

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- It is 52 years since the U.S. imperialists launched a war of aggression against the DPRK. Under the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung the people and People's Army of Korea fought death-defying battles with matchless bravery and mass heroism, thus inflicting a disgraceful defeat upon the aggressors and honorably defending the independence of the country and the gains of the revolution.
Papers today in editorials recall that the U.S. imperialists have persisted in their moves to perpetuate Korea's division and provoke a new war in a bid to realize their invariable ambition to seize the DPRK, far from drawing a lesson from their bitter defeat in the last Korean War.
Rodong Sinmun says that due to the Bush administration's hard-line policy toward the DPRK the DPRK-U.S. agreed framework is now on the verge of being scrapped and the movement for implementing the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration to achieve national independence and reunification is hitting snags.
    The paper goes on:
The Korean people are now faced with honorable yet important tasks to frustrate the U.S. imperialists' ever undisguised moves for aggression and war, defend the peace of the country and the security of the nation and achieve the cause of independent national reunification.
All the party members, servicemen of the people's army and people should consolidate the country as an impregnable fortress and rally closer around leader Kim Jong Il, true to his army-based policy, and if the enemy comes in attack, they should fight in a do-or-die spirit and realize the historic desire for national reunification.
Minju Joson notes that just and sure to triumph is the Korean nation's struggle to frustrate the U.S. imperialists' moves for aggression and war, dispel the daily growing danger of a nuclear war and achieve its independent reunification.

Anti-U.S. rallies held

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Mass rallies were held in front of the monument to the sinking of the U.S. imperialist ship of aggression "General Sherman," on the Jonsung Square, in front of the monument to the party founding, the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace here today on the occasion of the "June 25, the day of struggle against the U.S. imperialists." Today, 52 years after the U.S. imperialists provoked a war of aggression in Korea, Pyongyang was fully determined to wipe out the enemy.
The venues were crowded with hundreds of thousands of Pyongyangites from all walks of life who angrily shouted anti-U.S. slogans, holding slogan-boards and placards condemning the U.S. imperialists. Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, in a speech at a rally said that the Korean War provoked by the U.S. imperialists was the most shameless and brigandish war of aggression to stifle the young DPRK and turn the whole of Korea into their permanent colony.
He bitterly condemned the U.S. imperialists and their stooges for unleashing a war of aggression in Korea, imposing immeasurable misfortune and disasters upon the Korean people and running amuck to bring the dark clouds of a nuclear war to hang over the heads of the Koreans, while keeping their troops in South Korea and wantonly violating the dignity and sovereignty of the nation.
He underscored the need to resolutely check and frustrate the U.S. imperialists' moves for aggression and war against the DPRK in order to guarantee durable peace on the Korean Peninsula and achieve the peaceful reunification of the country. He continued:
The United States directly responsible for the Korean problem should sincerely fulfill its own commitments and duty without fail, immediately stop the reckless anti-DPRK war maneuvers and withdraw its troops, nukes and other war equipment from South Korea at once.
The U.S. should clearly bear in mind that if it blocks the peace and peaceful reunification of Korea, persisting in its anachronistic policy of war towards the DPRK, it will not escape strong protest and bitter condemnation not only from our nation but from the world progressives.
The South Korean authorities should opt for national reconciliation and unity, opposed to the U.S. imperialists' moves to provoke a new war against the Korean nation, in the basic spirit of the June 15 joint declaration in which they promised to the nation that it would work to open the door of independent reunification by its concerted efforts.
If the U.S. imperialists finally ignite a war of aggression on this inviolable territory, the DPRK will wipe out the intruders and provocateurs to the last man and achieve the historic cause of national reunification without fail.
Other speakers called for giving death to the U.S. imperialist man killers, adding that the Korean people will certainly settle accounts with them.
A poem "Korea declares" was recited at the rally.
