Japan's dangerous military move under fire

Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, chief cabinet secretary of Japan Fukuda addressing the ad hoc committee of the House of Representatives to cope with the "event of armed attack" expressed his will to work for the adoption of a new law on establishing a "civilian defence organization." This was prompted by a criminal intention of the Japanese reactionaries to convert Japan into a military power and realize their ambition to launch overseas expansion, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary.
    It continues:
What merits a serious attention is that the issue of adopting a "law on emergency" and the issue of establishing the "civilian defence organization" are under formal debate at the diet at a time when Japan is trying to keep warships of the Japan "self-defence forces" in the Indian Ocean for another six months in a bid to carry on a joint operation with the U.S. forces.
This suggests that the Japanese reactionaries' preparations for a war of aggression to convert Japan into a military power and realize their ambition for overseas expansion are close to completion.
The Japanese militarist forces which have been under the mask of "peace" since its defeat are coming out to launch a war of reconquest.
The Japanese reactionaries are well advised to behave with discretion, keeping in mind that their attempt is as foolish an act as trying to jump into a fire with faggot on their backs.

S. Koreans publish declaration on situation

Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- A press conference was reportedly held in Seoul on May 17 as regards the release of a "declaration on situation of dissident organizations and personages for the successful holding of the June 15 grand festival for national reunification and against nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula and the United States." The declaration was signed by 29 personages and 27 organizations, including the south headquarters of the national alliance for the country's reunification, the (South) Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the "National Federation of Peasants Associations", the "National Federation of Workers" and the "National Alliance for Democracy and Reunification" in response to the proposal for the declaration put forward by the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils going on a death-defying hunger strike on May 11.
A press release said they would remove the obstacles to the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration through an all-people anti-U.S. campaign and deal a telling blow to the U.S. and anti-reunification bellicose forces.
The declaration on the situation, read out at the press conference, urged the U.S. to give up its reckless nuclear war plan on the Korean Peninsula and stop its threat of nuclear war at once, saying any member of the Korean nation does not want a war.
We will successfully hold the June 15 grand festival by the efforts of the south and the north to demonstrate the will of the 70 million Koreans for peace and reunification against war and advance along the road of independent national reunification, the declaration said.

Anti-U.S., anti-war actions in South Korea

Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- Anti-U.S., anti-war struggles are going on in South Korea, according to news reports. "The people's rally to inherit the spirit of the May 18 Kwangju resistance on its 22nd anniversary" was held in Kwangju on May 19 with an attendance of over 2,000 personages of various circles.
The permanent chairman of the "National Alliance for Democracy and Reunification" said at the rally that the U.S. was to blame for the Kwangju massacre. He called on all the people to turn out as one in the struggle to punish those responsible for the massacre and thus further heighten the anti-U.S. sentiment.
At the rally, permanent representatives of the international association of democratic lawyers at the U.N. urged the U.S. to go out of South Korea, saying it is impossible to inherit the genuine May spirit as long as the U.S. forces remain there.
A rally of Seoul citizens was held in Seoul on May 18 to inherit the spirit of the May 18 Kwangju resistance, shatter the U.S. nuclear war moves in the Korean Peninsula and check the forced introduction of F-15K fighters.
Prior to it, the (South) Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a Seoul district rally to win victory in the struggle to block the privatization of key industries and inherit the spirit of the May 18 Kwangju resistance.
Meanwhile, members of the death-defying hunger strikers' group, including the chairman of the Seoul District Federation of University Student Councils, and other students staged an anti-U.S. demonstration in Seoul, chanting slogans such as "Let us drive Yankees by inheriting the May 18 spirit" and scattering the leaflets reading "Bush, withdraw nukes from South Korea."

S. Korean sycophantic traitors' ridiculous move under fire

Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- Those keen on confrontation with the north in South Korea said they would frame up a "committee for promoting the publication of the list of pro-north leftist elements" in a bid to map out and open to the public the "list" in the future. Minju Joson today in a signed commentary dismisses this as a ridiculous move of the wicked and shameless pro-Japanese, pro-U.S. flunkeyists bereft of reason and conscience.
    The daily says:
Those people whom they described as "pro-north leftist elements" are the patriotic figures who have taken lead in the campaigns for accusing the pro-Japanese traitors of selling off the interests of the country and the nation to foreign aggressors in the period of the Japanese imperialist rule and activities to achieve the cause of the country's reunification.
To defame those patriots only reveals the sinister intention to escalate confrontation with the north, backed by the U.S. imperialists, perpetuate the division of the country and block the independent reunification of the nation.
The daily calls for punishing the pro-Japanese, pro-U.S. sycophantic traitors who did all wrongs, enjoying pleasure and luxury, under the patronage of the Japanese imperialists, in the past period and are now zealously backing their master U.S. imperialists in their confrontation with the north as their cat's paws and standing in the way of the independent reunification of the nation.

Anti-north fuss in S. Korea flailed

Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- The central committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea issued an "Appeal to the People" on May 17 in protest against the criminal farce conducted by anti-reunification forces in South Korea to work out a "list of anti-U.S. and pro-north elements", according to Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation. The "society of Vietnamese War veterans", the "fellowship society of paratroopers" and other anti-communist organizations of the worst type are working out the list after setting up a "committee for promoting the publication of the list of pro-north leftist elements."
The appeal dismissed this as an intolerable anti-national and anti-reunification move as it is intended to put down at any cost the desire of South Koreans from all walks of life for national independence, great national unity and independent reunification against the U.S. daily growing strong after the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.
Saying that it is urgently required for the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration to frustrate this farce, the appeal called for throwing overboard Ri Hoe Chang-led pro-U.S. and pro-Japanese and anti-reunification elements and holding higher the torch of anti-U.S., anti-Japanese and anti-war struggle for the withdrawal of the U.S. imperialist aggression troops from South Korea.
