Seminars on exploits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Seminars on the feats of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il were held in Democratic Congo and Tanzania on March 27 and 30 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the 9th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's election as Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and the 70th anniversary of the Korean People's Army.
The General Secretary of the People's Rally for Socialism of Democratic Congo and other personages in their speeches highly praised the president's undying revolutionary exploits, noting that he led the great anti-Japanese war to victory and successfully accomplished the cause of party state, and army building.
Kim Jong Il has wisely led the drive to build a powerful socialist nation in Korea, decisively shattering the imperialists' moves to stifle and isolate the DPRK with the army-based policy, they added.
The secretary general of the Tanzanian National Coordinating Committee of the Juche Idea Study Groups said that Kim Il Sung, the greatest man, was the sun of humankind who recorded a brilliant page in the world political history, possessed of the great idea, outstanding leadership ability and noble personality.
Functions held abroad
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held in Ethiopia and Bangladesh, and Korean book and photo exhibitions and film shows in Tanzania, Russia, Libya, Malaysia and Iran between March 28 and April 2 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
Portraits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il were seen hanging on the walls of the function halls.
Displayed at the book and photo exhibition halls were famous works of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and photographs showing the revolutionary exploits performed by them.
"Always in the Hearts of Humankind" and "Korea, a Land of Morning Calm" and other Korean films were shown at the film shows.
Speakers at the functions said that Kim Il Sung, father of socialist Korea and of the Juche idea, is the greatest man and the most distinguished master of leadership produced in the 20th century and expressed boundless veneration for him.
Letters to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings.
Seminars on President Kim Il Sung's works held abroad
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- A seminar on the famous work of President Kim Il Sung "Enhancing the Role of the Popular Masses Is the Guarantee for Victory in the Cause of Independence" was held in Nepal on March 30.
The chairman of the Kabre forum for self-reliance studies said at the seminar that President Kim Il Sung's works serve as valuable treasures of world significance because they should be studied and embodied by the Nepalese people and the progressives.
These works reflecting his ideas and noble intention contain perfect revolutionary ideas and revolutionary theories representing the people's desire.
The Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, group for the study of the Juche idea held a seminar on the president's famous work "On the Korean People's Struggle to Apply the Juche Idea" on March 16.
The speakers said that the Juche idea founded by the president is the most important ideological and moral pabulum which helped bring about a fundamental turn in carving out the destiny of the Korean people and the progressives in the last century and usher in a new era of history, the era of independence.
Korean people's just cause supported by Indian party
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- A. B. Bardhan, general secretary of the National Council of the Communist Party of India (CPI), expressed resentment at Bush's listing the DPRK as part of "an axis of evil," noting that the CPI would continue to take measures for solidarity with Korea's socialist cause in the future, too.
He said this when he met a delegation of the Workers' Party of Korea to the 18th congress of the CPI on March 30.
He said that his party was greatly encouraged by socialist Korea which has foiled the U.S. imperialists' vicious moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK under the wise army-based revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il.
Recalling that President Kim Il Sung paid deep attention to the CPI activities in his lifetime, he stressed that the CPI would take organizational measures to significantly commemorate the president's 90th birth anniversary this year.
National photo exhibition opens
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- A national photo exhibition opened at the People's Palace of Culture yesterday to commemorate the 90th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
Displayed at the exhibition hall are over 170 photos showing the noble leadership traits and immortal exploits of the president.
Drawing attention of visitors are a photograph of the president standing with his face beaming with a sunny smile and other photos captioned "The Day of the Sun is Holiday for All the People," "Comrade Means Revolution," "Comrade Is Irreplaceable," "Revolutionary Comradeship Is Source of Sure Victory," "Unbounded Love and Eternal Trust In Revolutionary Soldiers," "Noble Sense of Revolutionary Obligation" and "Long March under the Leadership of the General."
Present at the opening ceremony were Jong Ha Chol, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kang Nung Su, minister of culture, and others.
Meanwhile, the new painters art exhibition and souvenir exhibition were open as part of the Pyongyang fine art festival at the Pyongyang International House of Culture on the same occasion.
"International Kim Il Sung Prize" awarded to Vishwanath
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- The "International Kim Il Sung Prize" council on April 1 decided to award "International Kim Il Sung Prize" to Vishwanath, director general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea.
He was awarded the prize for having ardently espoused the immortal Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung and made distinguished services for accomplishing the glorious cause of global independence and peace.
Diverse activities to see "Arirang" performance brisk in S. Korea
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Different circles of South Korea are reportedly conducting diverse activities to see the mass gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" to be staged at the May Day Stadium in Pyongyang.
The solidarity for implementing the south-north joint declaration inaugurated a steering team to watch the "Arirang" performance and put application ads in MBC and internet, while displaying posters introducing the performance at public places in different parts of South Korea.
The organization sent to the Ministry of Unification a list of applicants for visits to Pyongyang to see the "Arirang" performance collected as of March 29 and a letter to the authorities requesting them to enable the South Koreans to make free tours of Pyongyang to enjoy the performance.
Meanwhile, the Pusan solidarity for implementing the south-north joint declaration is conducting such brisk information services as displaying posters on the "Arirang" performance at crowded places of Pusan and explaining its citizens the significance of the performance.
The (South) Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) sent an official notice calling for the organization of the KCTU groups to see the "Arirang" performance to its affiliated organizations.
The reunification solidarity for the implementation of the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration and peace on the Korean Peninsula inputted an introductory article to homepage under the title "The Mass Gymnastic And Artistic Performance 'Arirang'".
The "National Students Federation for Travel", the "South Korean Youth League" and its affiliated organizations and the South Korean federation of university student councils are busy making arrangements to form a council for collecting applicants to see the mass gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" and expressing solidarity with them.
Commemorative books published by Koreans in China
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Koreans in China published commemorative books on the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
The Qingdao People's Publishing House brought out a collection of works of the president titled "on the great unity of the nation."
The Liaoning National Publishing House published a book "President Kim Il Sung and Ryo Un Hyong."
The book deals with the positive activities conducted by patriot Ryo Un Hyong looking up to Kim Il Sung, true to the national constancy, since he embarked on the road of the anti-Japanese movement for the liberation of the country.
It impressively tells about the love the president and leader Kim Jong Il showed for him and his children.
Kim Ryon Ja gives premiere in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Kim Ryon Ja, a South Korean singer in Japan, who came here to participate in the 20th April Spring Friendship art Festival gave her premiere at the April 25 House of Culture yesterday.
Appreciating the performance were Jang Chol, chairman of the organizing committee of the festival, Jong Mun San, chief secretary of the cabinet, Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, and other officials concerned, artistes and working people in the city and overseas compatriots.
She sang "My Country is Best", "Urban Girl Comes to the Countryside to Get Married", "Whistle" and other songs with her peculiar gentle and merry voice and by her unique method and skill of representation, winning the acclaim of the audience.
In "The River Tuman in Tears", "Tears at Mokpho" and other songs dating back to the period of enlightenment she successfully depicted the feature of those times by representing the sorrow of the Korean people before the liberation of the country.

World day of health care

The system of complete and universal free medical service has long been in force and preventive medical care has been kept ahead of medical treatment in the DPRK.
