KCNA blasts Blair's remarks against DPRK

Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- U.S. warmongers are now vying with each other in making reckless remarks against the DPRK. Blair, commander-in-chief of the U.S. Pacific Command, is one of them. He made such a war outcry as calling for "Strongly dealing with the DPRK" during his recent visit to Japan. And after flying into South Korea he let loose the sheer sophism that "North Korea is a state posing a potential threat to the world security."
This disclosed the bellicose intention of the United States to stifle the DPRK disobedient to it, after getting upbeat over its "war against terrorism in Afghanistan."
The fact that he flew into South Korea at a time when many stories about "preemptive attacks" on the DPRK are floated in the United States cannot but draw a serious attention and arouse the DPRK's precaution against Washington.
His tour of South Korea is aimed at examining preparations for this attack on the spot and giving the green light to actions to invade the north. His remarks about non-existent "threat" of the DPRK are nothing but a subterfuge to cover up the U.S. attempt at this attack and a dastardly ruse to spread the fiction of "axis of evil" which is little short of a "declaration of war" against the DPRK.
As historical facts prove, the DPRK has neither invaded nor threatened anyone.
The U.S. talk about "threat" from the DPRK is preposterous and an outright challenge to it.
The prevailing situation where the U.S. has become evermore undisguised in its military moves, threatening the DPRK by force of arms compels it to get fully ready to wipe out aggressors at a single blow.
The DPRK loves peace but is not afraid of a war.
If the United States starts a war defying the DPRK's warnings the DPRK will not lose the chance but wipe out all the aggressors by returning fire for fire.

The Korean people are working world-startling miracles, overcoming the difficulties and ordeals despite the imperialists' moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK.
This is a result of the army-based policy of Kim Jong Il, who has always led them to victory.
All the miracles and successes made in the DPRK show the great vitality of the Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung and the might of the Korean people single-heartedly united around Kim Jong Il.
The Russian communists resolutely condemn bush for his outbursts against the DPRK and the U.S. for its moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK and will always express support to the Korean people in their struggle against the U.S. imperialists.
Speakers referred to the successes made in the DPRK under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
These miracles and successes mean declaring that the sun of the new century to steer the world has risen in the east, they added.

CILRECO presidium members meet

Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- A meeting of the presidium members of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea (CILRECO) took place by way of exchanging telephone and fax message on February 4 and 5. Attending the meeting were five honorary chairmen, vice-chairmen and secretary general of the CILRECO including honorary chairman Romesh Chandra of the world peace council, and honorary chairman Amar Bentoumi of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers.
The meeting discussed the need to denounce the U.S. president for his recent bellicose remarks and support the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the appeal adopted at the joint meeting of the DPRK government, political parties and organisations.
Secretary general Guy Dupre of the CILRECO in a speech charged that recently Bush in his "state of the union address" linked the DPRK with terrorism in a far-fetched manner and made bellicose remarks against it and that the bellicose policy of the bush administration which has become extremely arrogant in the wake of the war in Afghanistan is a dangerous crime designed to bring the dark clouds of a new war of aggression to the sky over the Korean peninsula and any other parts of the world.
Those present at the meeting called upon the governments, political parties and organisations of all countries around the world and international organisations that uphold justice and love peace to pay deep attention to the ensuing catastrophic consequences of the war-thirsty bush administration's hostile policy towards the DPRK and war policy and take an active part in a struggle to check and frustrate the policies.
The meeting adopted an appeal and a statement to the governments, political parties and organisations of all the countries the world over and international organisations.
The statement expressed expectation that the progressive political parties and organisations of all the countries and international organisations which uphold justice and love peace and peace-loving forces against war would pay due attention to the grave crisis on the Korean peninsula, a product of the bellicose policy pursued by the bush administration, and the ensuing catastrophic consequences and positively join the Korean people in their just struggle to put an end to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and reunify the country independently and peacefully, with a high sense of responsibility they have assumed before the times.

DPRK-Russia friendship grows strong

Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- Papers here today dedicate articles to the second anniversary of the signing of the treaty of friendship, good-neighbourliness and cooperation between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation (February 9, 2000). Rodong Sinmun says that the treaty is a historic document that provides a sure guarantee for boosting the bilateral relations of friendship and laid a solid legal foundation for putting them on to a new higher stage in keeping with the changed conditions and realities.
    The daily further says:
In the last year of the 20th century Russian President Putin visited the DPRK for the first time as the head of state to forge close relations with leader Kim Jong Il.
In this course a historic DPRK-Russia joint declaration was made public.
Kim Jong Il's historic official visit to Russia that took place last year, the first year of the 21st century, marked an epochal event in putting the bilateral relations of friendship on a higher stage. The summit meetings and talks are of special significance in the history of the bilateral relations of friendship.
Today the bilateral relations are favorably developing in the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
Kim Jong Il's visit to the Russian embassy here in January is a clear proof of developing DPRK-Russia relations of friendship.
There are good signs in the bilateral relations thanks to the great concern and activities of the leaders of the two countries.
The development of the bilateral relations is of weighty importance also in preserving the peace and security in Asia and the rest of the world.
The efforts of the Russian people to build strong Russia and those of the Korean people to build a powerful nation of Juche have things in common, which promises a rosy future of the bilateral relations.
The DPRK will as ever make sincere efforts to boost the relations.
Minju Joson says that there is no change in the stand of the DPRK government that values the friendly and cooperative relations with the Russian Federation, a neighboring country, and wants to steadily boost them.

U.S. infringement upon sovereignty of Syria condemned

Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- Warships of the U.S. 6th Fleet recently seized and searched two Syrian cargo ships in the international waters of the Mediterranean Sea for 8 hours. Rodong Sinmun today says that the incident is one of the U.S. deliberate and provocative moves to stifle the independent countries under the pretext of "anti-terrorism" after the "September 11 attacks," which is a grave infringement upon the sovereignty of Syria and a gross violation of the international law.
    The news analyst says:
The United States has termed those anti-imperialist independent countries "enemies" at its discretion and infringed upon their sovereignty by strong-arm action and force. The U.S. is the very one who creates complexity in the present international relations and a biggest gangster state that tramples down justice and truth.
The seizure and search of the Syrian cargo ships is a revelation of the U.S. policy to stifle Syria under the pretext of "anti-terrorism." The U.S. moves can never be pardoned.
The DPRK bitterly denounces the united states for its piracy against the Syrian cargo ships.
The anti-imperialist independent position taken by Syria so far is just. The United States should stop putting pressure on and threatening Syria by base means.
The cause of the Syrian people is just and nothing can stifle it.
