Japan's anti-DPRK smear campaign assailed

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the central committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) yesterday issued a statement denouncing Japan for resuming the malignant smear campaign against the DPRK over the issue of "suspected kidnapping." The statement said:
The noisy fuss about "suspected kidnapping" kicked off under the behind-the-scene manipulation of the Japanese authorities is aimed at keeping the DPRK on the list of "terrorist state, sponsor of terrorism" in a bid to cripple the dignity and authority of the DPRK and isolate and stifle it.
The central committee of the UAWK on behalf of all the agricultural workers bitterly condemns the Japanese reactionaries' anti-DPRK moves as a grave challenge to the Korean people and a mockery of the desire of humankind in the new century in which independence has become the trend of the times.
The agricultural workers and all other people of Korea are following Japan's moves for militarist expansion with a high degree of vigilance.
The Korean and other peoples of Asia who suffered a lot at the hands of the Japanese imperialists in the past will surely force the Japanese authorities to honestly apologize and compensate for it and consistently carry on the anti-Japanese struggle till Japan has fully liquidated its past. The Japanese authorities should stop pursuing their hostile policy toward the DPRK while making a noisy fuss about the non-existent issue of "suspected kidnapping" in a bid to slander the DPRK, far from drawing a lesson from their crime-woven past, and discontinue their moves to become a military power. If not, they will meet a more miserable end than that Japan suffered in the past.

U.S. permanent military presence rejected

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The Alliance for Social Democracy in South Korea reportedly released a statement on December 13 denouncing the "Ministry of National Defence" for wearing an air of innocence after consenting to a program of building apartment houses in the U.S. military base in Ryongsan. The "ministry" has deceived the people, wearing an air of innocence after consenting to the program on the plea of "raising the morale and well-being of the GIs," a mean act devoid of national self-respect, the statement says, and goes on:
The Ryongsan base where there is the command of the U.S. forces is a disgraceful place where historically foreign troops have been stationed. The U.S. has not honored a "promise" concerning the return of the base. That reveals its sinister intention.
The U.S. proposed to build apartment houses, which is an objective ground for the permanent presence, looking down upon the South Koreans, and the South Korean authorities consented to the proposal because of their flunkeyist policy and outlook on history.
The "ministry's" approval of the program is a treachery.
All the people should turn out in a struggle to eliminate the pro-U.S. flunkeyist forces and foil the plot to seek the U.S. permanent military presence.
It is necessary to abrogate the "ROK-U.S. mutual defence treaty" little short of a slavery document, in order to force the U.S. forces out of South Korea and establish sovereignty.

KCNA on Japan's anti-DPRK campaign

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The police office of Japan in its 2001 document titled "review and prospect of public security" called for closely following the moves of North Korea, as part of its anti-DPRK campaign. This campaign launched by Japan after legally paving the way for its "self-defense forces" overseas military operations under the pretext of the U.S. "anti-terror war" is aimed to openly step up preparations for reinvasion of the Asia-Pacific region, the war to seize Korea, in particular, and deliberately create an unstable situation in and outside Japan under the pretext of "threat" from the DPRK.
Moreover, the Japanese paper Sankei Shimbun, a typical reptile newspaper of the ultra-right conservative forces of Japan, while carrying the content of the document, asserted that the DPRK has not allayed the international concern.
This is an undisguised act of egging the Japanese reactionaries on to escalate their moves for overseas aggression and the hostile policy towards the DPRK.
Japan is rushing headlong toward militarization and fascism. Japan is dispatching military personnel and equipment to the Indian ocean to carry out the "SDF" overseas military operations and busy staging an unprecedented campaign against the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) under the pretext of "evasion of inspection" by the Korean bank.
Nobody can predict in what an adventurous military operation Japan will get embroiled under the pretext of internal and international security in a fit of anger.
The Japanese reactionaries try to use the DPRK in calming down the international concern and criticism of their new fascist tendency.
Japan has taken every opportunity to pull up the DPRK over the non-existent issue of "kidnapped Japanese" and "nuclear" issue in a bid to justify its hostile moves against it.
It is the DPRK's consistent and principled stand to oppose all forms of terrorism and any assistance to it.
It is recognized by the international community that the DPRK "threatens" nobody and it cannot have any baneful impact on other country's public security.
Before escalating its anti-DPRK campaign Japan is well advised to ponder over its consequences and stop acting rashly.

Japanese authorities accused of suppression of Chongryon

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Vishwanath, director general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea (IIJI), issued a statement on Dec. 10 denouncing the Japanese authorities for their crackdown upon the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon). Branding the Japanese authorities' search of the central and local headquarters of Chongryon as an outrage unprecedented in history, the statement said that it is a political plot against Chongryon.
    It went on:
They ransacked Chongryon, a dignified overseas citizens organization of the DPRK, without any legal ground. It is a despicable political suppression of Chongryon and the Koreans in Japan and a wanton violation of the sovereignty of the DPRK.
Any suppression of Chongryon is an infringement upon the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK.
The IIJI strongly demands the Japanese authorities stop at once the fascist suppression of Chongryon and apologize for it and immediately release all the unwarrantedly arrested Koreans in Japan.

Blasphemy against Tangun under fire

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Some treacherous organizations of religionists in South Korea destroyed scores of statues of Tangun, insulting the ancestral father of the nation. This is a negation of the Korean nation and an unpardonable challenge and crime against all the Koreans who have valued its history and traditions. A spokesman for the Korean council of religionists declares this in a statement issued today bitterly denouncing this vandalism.
    The statement goes on:
The vandalism committed by "the Federation of Christians," "the Council of Evangelism," "the Forum of Churchmen," and "the Council of Christian Leaders" of South Korea clearly proves that they are nothing but pseudo organizations reduced to servants and political prostitutes of the conservative forces opposed to reunification and the DPRK.
This dastardly crime can be committed only by such judas-like fellows who betray even devotion for a few dollars.
The Korean council of religionists brands the anti-DPRK campaign launched by the ultra-right Christian organizations, recklessly insulting the ancestral father of the nation as an anti-national and anti-reunification crime and bitterly denounces it on behalf of all the religionists in the north.
The statement expressed the hope that all the believers and religious organizations in South Korea that love the nation and desire national reconciliation and unity will turn out as one in the campaign to denounce the ultra-right conservatives hell-bent only on acts against the nation and reunification in utter disregard of the ancestral father of the nation.

Taean work system, unique form of economic management

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- It is 40 years since President Kim Il Sung created the Taean work system, an advantageous socialist economic management system centering on the popular masses. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Taean work system, the KCNA had an interview with Kim Kwang Rin, vice-chairman of the state planning commission, Pae Sok Jun, president of the university of national economics, and Ri Yun Hyon, chief secretary of the party committee of the Taean Heavy Machine Complex.
Ri Yun Hyon said that the creation of the Taean work system is of historic significance in turning the popular masses into the substantial masters of the state power, means of production and economic management.
Pae Sok Jun said that it is proud history of the past 40 years that the mass line has been carried through and the economy managed in a scientific and rational way under the collective guidance of the party committee so as to give full play to the advantages of the socialist system.
Kim Kwang Rin noted that the Taean work system brought the advantages of the planned socialist economy into full play.
History proves that the socialist economic management centering on the popular masses helps consolidate and develop the socialist economic system including the planned economic system but the capitalist economic management centering on profits undermines the socialist system itself, he said, and added:
The Taean work system is the unique form of economic management of Korean style which should be applied in the whole historic period of socialist construction.

Implementation of inter-Korean joint declaration called for

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The Koreans' struggle to reunify the country is a sacred cause of defending the independence of the nation, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. It goes on:
National independence is the only way for our nation to survive and achieve the country's reunification.
Independence is what keeps man and a nation alive.
The issue of a nation, in essence, means defending and achieving its independence. the principle of national independence is the core of the settlement of the issue of a nation.
National independence guarantees the dignity and honour of the nation, the national pride and self-respect and the indomitable will and spirit of the nation.
The country's reunification is an issue to be solved by our nation itself and belongs to its sovereignty.
The historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration is a declaration on achieving independent reunification as it indicates the way of independent national reunification.
Without smashing the machinations of foreign forces and anti-reunification forces, is it impossible to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the nation and realize independent reunification.
All the Koreans should decisively foil the moves of foreign forces and anti-reunification forces to block the movement for independent reunification in contravention of the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration, and firmly defend and implement the joint declaration to the letter.
Great national unity is a sure guarantee for independent reunification.
Rosy will be the future of the Korean nation aspiring after independent reunification.

U.S. perilous intention under fire

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Recently a spokesman for the U.S. department of state said North Korea's proliferation of missiles is a matter of concern and it should be negotiated at the DPRK-U.S. dialogue. Commenting on the remarks, Minju Joson today says that it is clear that his remarks mirror the stand of the U. S. administration.
    The news analyst says:
The U.S. tries to spread the "anti-terror war" now under way in Afghanistan to any part of the world.
The U.S. loudmouthed "North Korea's missile proliferation," a mere fiction, proves what desperate efforts the U.S. is making to stifle the DPRK by force of arms on the plea of "combating terrorism."
It is the inalienable right of the DPRK to defend the nation's sovereignty and dignity from any provocations of the aggressors. The DPRK has the will and capacity to fully exercise its right.

U.S. anti-DPRK hostile policy blasted

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The DPRK is ready to react to u.s. goodwill gesture with good faith but counter its use of force with a war of justice. this is the principled stand and will of the DPRK. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
What merits attention in the situation this year is that the DPRK-U.S. relations have been brought to the point of explosion primarily because of the Bush administration's policy to stifle the DPRK.
Ever since its emergence the administration has escalated its moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK and unprecedentedly increased its military pressure upon it.
The U.S. is keen to carry out its strategy to dominate Asia in the 21st century. The Korean peninsula is made the first target of it.
The DPRK has neither been taken in by any appeasement and deception nor has yielded to any military pressure.
The Korean people's victory in their struggle demonstrates leader Kim Jong Il's tested army-based leadership and the DPRK's politico-ideological and military might before the world.
It, at the same time, clearly proves that neither moves of the U.S. imperialists nor difficulties before the Korean people can ever destroy Korean-style socialism and hold in check their advance.
An important lesson drawn by the Korean people this year is that they should maintain the highest degree of vigilance toward the cunning double-dealing tactics of the Bush administration in handling the issue of the DPRK-U.S. relations and react to the U.S. imperialists' hard-line policy with the toughest stand.
If any enemy comes in attack on the DPRK, its army will not allow him to go back alive.

Greetings to emir of Bahrain

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, today sent a message of greetings to Sheik Hamad Bin Isa al-Khalifa, emir of the state of Bahrain, on the occasion of its 40th national day. The message extended warm congratulations to the emir, the government and people of Bahrain on the occasion of its 40th national day.
Kim Yong Nam expressed belief that the friendly relations between the two countries established in the first year of the new century would develop on good terms in all domains in conformity with the desire and interests of the two peoples and wished him greater success in his work and good health and happiness.

Japanese militarists warned not to act rashly

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Measure Committee for Demanding Compensation to "Comfort Women for the Army" and the victims of the Pacific War in a statement today sternly condemns the anti-DPRK campaign in Japan and the Japanese investigation authorities' outrage against the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) as a political attempt of the Japanese authorities to impair the international image of the dignified DPRK and stamp out Chongryon, an overseas citizens organization of the DPRK. The statement said:
The Japanese reactionaries are turning away their face from apology and compensation for their past crimes with which they took away millions of Korean people as cannon-fodders of the aggression war and as sexual slaves and looted a large amount of precious cultural assets and material resources during their illegal occupation of Korea for over 40 years. Instead, they have defined Chongryon as an object to be applied by the "law on the prevention of subversive activities" and resorted to all forms of national discrimination and repression of the Koreans in Japan.
The Japanese reactionaries' anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon campaign are arousing the national indignation of the Korean people.
The Japanese authorities should stop at once their fascist crackdown upon Chongryon, immediately set free all the unreasonably arrested Koreans and honestly apologize to the Korean nation for their crimes.
They should face up to the will of the Korean people strong in independence and act with discretion.
