Withdrawal of U.S. Forces from S. Korea demanded

Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- Rallies of teachers and students of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education and Pyongyang Ryongwang Middle School were held on Nov. 28 denouncing the verdict of not guilty given to the GI murderers of schoolgirls in South Korea. Speakers said at the rallies that the GIs killed the schoolgirls by an armored car in broad daylight, but the U.S. military court declared them not guilty, adding that this brigandish action clearly shows the true colours of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces as man-killers.
They continued. This outrageous action committed by the GIs should no longer be tolerated and the U.S. imperialists should be forced to pay for the blood shed by Koreans generation after generation.
They dismissed the GIs' arrogant action as an insult not only to the South Korean people but to all Koreans and a blatant challenge to justice, conscience, and ethics and morality and bitterly condemned the sworn enemy U.S. imperialists, the root cause of all misfortune, sufferings and evils, on behalf of all teachers and students.
It is only the U.S. imperialists who openly declared the killers not guilty, they noted, strongly calling upon all Koreans to turn out in the sacred anti-U.S. war.

Anniversary of Academy of Social Sciences marked

At the meeting, Choe Thae Bok read out a congratulatory message the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea sent to the scientists and employees of the academy.
The message noted that over the last half century since President Kim Il Sung established the academy on December 1, Juche 41(1952), it has developed into the nation's comprehensive base for the study of social sciences and made a great contribution to the development of the Juche-oriented social sciences.
Thae Hyong Chol, president of the academy, in his report said that Kim Il Sung gave an origin to the Juche-based and revolutionary social sciences in the crucible of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and clearly indicated the road for the social sciences of Juche to follow in each period and at each stage of the revolutionary development.
Pointing out that the proud history of the academy is shining more brilliantly thanks to the great leadership exploits performed by Kim Jong Il, the reporter recalled that he published many works, energetically leading the academy to thoroughly establish Juche in all branches of social sciences and broaden and deepen scientific researches as required by the revolutionary development and the trend of the development of modern social sciences.
The reporter called on the scientists and employees of the academy to intensify scientific researches as required by the era of the army-based policy and expand and consolidate their successes and thus positively contribute to carrying out the revolutionary cause of Juche.

S. Korean newspapers urged to think twice

Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- Segye Ilbo, Choongang Ilbo, Kyunghyang Daily News and other newspapers of South Korea are spreading the misinformation that the DPRK was to blame for the suspension of the projects of reconnecting rail and road links between the north and the south. In this regard papers here today carry signed commentaries. Citing the facts to prove that the United States is to blame for bringing the mine clearing to suspension and making it impossible to push forward the projects as scheduled, a commentary of Rodong Sinmun says:
Some media of South Korea are imprudent and hasty. They were trying to shift the responsibility for the suspended projects onto the DPRK before it responded to the south side's proposal to discontinue the inspection of mine clearing. The DPRK cannot but ask if they were not requested by someone to do so.
It cannot but question for whom they spoke.
The projects were suspended due to the south side's dependence on foreign forces. If some media of South Korea truly wanted inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation, they should have carried articles bringing the military authorities to account for delaying the projects, yielding to foreign forces.
Not content with slandering the DPRK, some media of South Korea clamored about the "dual nature", pulling up the DPRK over its promulgation of a decree on setting up the Mt. Kumgang Tourist Zone. This only revealed that they are too talkative.
Garrulity makes a mess of things.
A commentary of Minju Joson says that if the South Korean newspaper Dong-a Ilbo takes such a treacherous road as putting a brake on the process of improving the inter-Korean relations, it will be cursed and condemned by the nation. It is well advised to take a right path, though belatedly, not lamenting its folly, the commentary warns.

In recent years, they have succeeded in developing two kinds of winter-hardy and high-yielding rice seeds.
Six exhibits presented by the branch won popularity at the 7th national exhibition of inventions and new technologies. Among them are the method of cultivating and introducing Chonnae persimmon and Chonsam persimmon, the method of cultivating tea plant Kosong no.1 and no. 2 and the technique of processing Unjong tea.

Punishment of GI criminals urged

Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The north headquarters of the Nationwide Special Committee for Probing the Truth Behind the GIs' Massacres proposed a contact of representatives of the joint secretariat, the north, south and overseas headquarters of the special committee and organizations concerned in South Korea in Seoul at an early date and the formation of a joint investigation group to restudy and bring the GIs' crimes to the international organizations and punish the criminals in the name of the nation. The proposal was made in a letter sent by the north headquarters of the special committee to its joint secretariat and the south and the overseas headquarters, the All-People Measure Committee for Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, Girl Students Killed By a U.S. Armored Car in South Korea, the anti-U.S. action group of the national alliance for democracy and reunification, the Anti-U.S. Women's Society and other joint organizations of Koreans in the north, south and abroad and organizations concerned in South Korea on Nov. 27 as regards the recent verdict of "not guilty" given to GI criminals who drove an armored car over South Korean schoolgirls to death.
The letter noted that the U.S. military court's shameless trial which declared the GI criminals not guilty is an open mockery of the Korean nation, an intolerable insult to it and a challenge to justice and human conscience.
The north headquarters of the special committee declares the recent false trial invalid as the assailant tried the assailant there, it said, adding:
It is a high time that all the Koreans turned out in a drive to force the U.S. to pay thousand times for the disgrace it inflicted upon the Koreans and the blood shed by them.

World Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People observed

Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The Korean people will invariably support the Palestinian people in their just struggle to build an independent state and achieve independent progress, says Rodong Sinmun today in a by-lined article on the occasion of the world day of solidarity with the Palestinian people. The article continues:
The more undisguised Israel becomes in its moves to invade Palestine, the stronger the international support and solidarity with the Palestinian people grow and the higher voices denouncing Israel mount.
The Palestinian issue is the core of the issue of realizing Mideast peace.
If the issue is not settled, it is impossible to achieve the Mideast peace.
In order to settle the Palestinian issue the Israeli aggressors should unconditionally pull out of their occupied Palestinian land as demanded by the Palestinian people and the Palestinian people's legitimate national rights including the rights to self-determination and the right to found an independent state should be restored.
The Korean people regard it as an international obligation to positively support the Palestinian people's just cause.
This cause is sure to triumph.
