Japan's move for overseas aggression under fire

Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- The Japanese diet recently passed an "anti-terrorism bill" through the plenary meeting of the house of councillors to allow the "Self-Defense Forces" to give "logistical support" to the U.S. retaliatory attack on Afghanistan. In this regard Rodong Sinmun today says in a signed commentary:
According to the law, the SDF is allowed to join in any u.s. military operations overseas.
This indicates that the Japanese reactionaries, who have stepped up their moves for military power and militarization of Japan, took a very dangerous step forward for overseas aggression.
Japan is taking the road of overseas aggression again instead of drawing lessons from its defeat in the Aecond World War.
Synchronizing with adoption of the "anti-terrorism bill," the Japanese reactionaries are openly seeking to revise the "law on cooperation in U.N peace-keeping operation" banning the SDF from participating in the main activities of the "U.N. peace-keeping forces."
By so doing they are going to legalize the SDF's participation in the major activities of the "U.N. peace-keeping forces," drastically relax the regulation of use of weapons and arm the SDF to be dispatched overseas with heavy weapons such as anti-tank guns.
It is very clear how recklessly they will run amuck with the "anti-terrorism law."

DPRK delegate to UNGA on environment and development

Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- A delegate of the DPRK on October 29 made a speech on environment and development, an agenda item of the second committee meeting of the 56th UN General Assembly. He said that the present trend of "globalization" broadens a gap between developed and developing countries and that unsustained production and way of consumption, forced upon the developing nations by the developed countries, is a major root cause of worldwide environmental destruction.
It is very important for the developed countries to take real actions for the immediate effectuation and implementation of the "Kyoto protocol" which is intended for preventing the global warming, he said.
Expressing concern over the unilateral and irresponsible decision made by some countries to subordinate this worldwide matter related to the future of humankind to their economic interests, the delegate called for paying due attention to the prompt effectuation of the "protocol" and its implementation.
He also held that for the solution of the worldwide environmental issue, developed countries should widen the scale of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in transfer of funds and technology and investment for the developing countries.
The DPRK has attached importance to protecting environment in the economic activities and all spheres of social life, he said, adding: It will faithfully carry out the plan of national activities for environment and development and more positively join in the international efforts for the implementation of "protocol 21".

S. Korean unionists declare demonstration

Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- The "National Federation of Democratic Chemical Fiber Trade Unions" and 3 other labor organizations in South Korea on Oct. 31 declared that they would stage a relay demonstration against the unreasonable dismissal of workers in the informal sector by the end of this year, according to Seoul-based Yonhap News. The federation said that when unionists working in the informal sector demanded their conversion into regular one according to the related law, 99 of them were dismissed.
It held that distinction in the informal sector should be prevented because the number of workers in the informal sector is more than that of regular workers.

Japan urged to redeem its past crimes

Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- The Japanese ruling quarters are resorting to the base moves to gain international understanding and support for their wrong stand and attitude toward Japan's past history of aggression. In this regard Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article says:
During his visit to a country some time ago the Japanese chief executive showed a gentle attitude to its leaders, allegedly repenting the past and expressing "apology" and "condolences" to the victims.
The Japanese ruling quarters' "apology" and "repentance" are an empty talk because they have not honored them in practice.
It is well proved by the Japanese reactionaries' distortion of history in textbooks and the ruling quarters' collective visit to the "Yasukuni Shrine".
In the newly published history textbooks they did not mention the issue of the "comfort women for the army" but described the Japanese imperialists' continental aggression as the "liberation war" and depicted their aggression and military occupation of Korea as a just action for the "security" of Japan.
Japan's distortion of history textbooks is aimed to negate its past history of aggression and infuse the idea of aggression into the rising generation.
In August the Japanese reactionary ruling quarters thronged to the "Yasukuni Shrine" in groups to pray for the war criminals and express "respects" to them. This was support to Japan's past aggression and the Japanese imperialist aggressors and, at the same time, a sort of political function to repeat their past.
"Apology" and "repentance" on their lips are lies and a deception to win popular confidence. Their "apology" and "repentance" have no legal guarantee and did not come from the stand responsible for the crimes.
The honest apology and repentance of the past crimes should carry the will not to repeat such history again. From this point of view it can be said that Japan's hypocritical and deceptive "apology" and "repentance" are fraught with greater danger.
The Japanese reactionaries are extensively beefing up the armed forces of aggression under the pretext of coping with the "emergencies in the areas surrounding Japan" and openly participating in overseas military operations in defiance of the article of the constitution that prohibits war.
The Japanese militarist forces are very crafty and heinous.
They are tricky and dangerous bands of aggressors who do their own business, carrying a dagger under their coat with smile in their face.
No matter how loudly Japan may clamor about "apology" and "repentance," the Asian people will never believe it and open their hearts to it unless the Japanese reactionaries stop their reckless moves for overseas aggression with a reasonable stand toward the past crimes.
