Warmongers hit for projected war huddle

Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today comments on the "Japan-U.S. security consultative committee" meeting to be held in New York in September. The meeting of the Brasshats of the U.S. and Japan is supposed to make public a report what they call "cooperation program" based on the "Japan-U.S. guidelines for defense cooperation."
The updated guidelines published in 1997 is a document for war that legalised the U.S.-Japan joint military actions beyond the territory of Japan.
    The news analyst says:
The projected meeting is designed to tighten the military ties of the U.S. and Japan keen to take the road of confrontation and war against peace and detente in Asia and the report is a dangerous war scenario.
A joint war scenario the U.S. and Japanese reactionaries are to make public is targeted against the DPRK, the primary object.
The Korean peninsula is in the areas covered by the guidelines.
The U.S. imperialists consider it the top priority of their Asia strategy to stifle the DPRK by force by mobilizing the Japan "Self-Defence Forces" under the "cooperation program" based on the guidelines and establish military domination over the Korean peninsula.
The Japanese reactionaries adopted laws related to the updated guidelines in 1999 to retake the right to participate in war and the right of belligerency. As a result, they are able to conduct military operations in any area of the world under the pretext of "aid" to the U.S. forces.
Japan's war preparations have been rounded off economically and militarily and in terms of laws. The dispatch of the "SDF" overseas is the last phase for the realisation of Japan's wild ambition for reinvasion.
The Bush administration that emerged in January worked out a new military strategy to provoke the second Korean war.
Availing themselves of this opportunity, the Japanese reactionaries the U.S. and the Japanese reactionaries' plan to convene the are watching for a chance to invade the DPRK. "Security consultative committee" meeting and make public a war plan is to attain this purpose.
Their dangerous war moves compel the DPRK to strengthen its countermeasure with high vigilance against them.
If they ignite the second Korean war, the DPRK will mercilessly destroy the aggressors with the mobilization of all its efforts.
They are well advised to bear in mind that the Korean war of aggression will lead them to self-destruction.

40th anniversary of NAM observed

Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) will grow stronger and attain its idea and purpose without fail in the 21st century, say papers here today. Over the four decades the movement has made great contributions to the efforts of the world people to protect global peace and security, realize independence of countries and nations and build a new world, just and peaceful, under the uplifted banner of non-alignment and independence.
Rodong Sinmun in a signed article says:
Peace and independent development are the basic trend of the 21st century and desire of humankind.
Imperialist aggression forces are a chief obstacle to the efforts for peace and independent development in the new century.
Anti-imperialist independence is the noble idea of the NAM and herein lie the viability and influence of the movement.
The fighting slogan of the NAM in the new century is anti-imperialist independence and protection of peace.
Peace and independent development do not come of their own accord. They can be achieved only through struggle.
If the NAM is to attain its idea and purpose and creditably discharge the mission it assumed on behalf of the times, it should strengthen its position and role in every way.
The UN reforms, disarmament, termination of foreign military occupation and dismantling of foreign military bases and compensation by suzerain states, pressing issues in the international arena, call for concerted efforts on the part of the non-aligned countries.
The unity among the NAM member nations leads to the enhanced position and role of the NAM.
The NAM should work hard to set up international relations based on independence and equality and democratize the international community.
The NAM is faced with an important task to boost south-south cooperation in face of the "globalisation" advertised by the imperialists.
Minju Joson says that the DPRK government will as ever fulfil its responsibility and play the role as a member nation of the NAM.

Rodong Sinmun on national independence

Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- National independence alone can bring about the earliest and most smooth realization of the cause of national reunification in line with the desire and interests of the Korean nation, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. Noting that the Korean nation is responsible for the destiny of the nation, the article says that it is the lesson taught by the history of the Korean nation and truth indicated by the Juche idea.
    It goes on:
Outside forces, architect of national division and obstructer of the reunification, should never be allowed to meddle in the reunification cause of the Korean nation.
An independent stand should be firmly maintained and national dignity and interests should always be protected in relations with them.
The ordeals and difficulties laid by the U.S. imperialists in the way of achieving national reunification clearly show what dangerous consequences the outside interference in the reunification issue is now bringing.
All the Koreans should cherish stronger faith and will to achieve reunification independently by the concerted efforts of the nation responsible for it.
All the fellow countrymen should turn out in a vigorous patriotic struggle to implement the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, the banner of the independent national reunification, and bring earlier the national reunification.
