Referring to the rude act of the Japanese authorities, the statement said that Japan is totally ignoring and violating human rights and reason though it is talking about "democracy" and "human rights".
Contending that such behavior of Japan is closely related to the projected visit to the "Yasukuni Shrine" at a time when the Japanese imperialists' war of aggression in the past is being justified, the statement warned that all actions of the Japanese government would make the whole of Asia an enemy of Japan.

Rodong Sinmun on U.S. military bases in Japan

Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- The U.S. troops and military bases in Japan are not of any help to the Japanese people but only bring misfortune to them, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. The article goes on:
The U.S. military bases in Japan are causing the Japanese people's misfortune and damage in their daily life.
The recent rape of a Japanese girl by a GI in Okinawa is a clear reminder of the damage done to the Japanese people living around the bases.
Such cases as GIs' breaking into Japanese houses and shops at midnight and threatening the lives and properties of Japanese and destroying them are occuring in an unbroken chain in Japanese cities where there are U.S. military bases.
The sovereignty of Japan is being infringed upon by the U.S. military bases in Japan.
The U.S. forces look down upon even the Japanese government in Tokyo.
It is because the "U.S.-Japan security pact" forces the Japanese government to meet the U.S. military demands.
What merits a serious attention is the fact that the U.S. military bases in Japan are functioning to bring the scourge of war to the Japanese territory.
What is dangerous in particular is the fact that they can be used as a detonating fuse for a nuclear war that will engulf Japan.
If the U.S. launches a nuclear war, those bases will become a dangerous time bomb threatening the very existence of Japan.
If the U.S. uses nuclear weapons to invade Asia, Japan will be enveloped in flames for offering its land as its nuclear bases and its whole territory will be reduced to debris as was the case with Hiroshima 56 years ago.
