He was greeted on the spot by Sim Won Il, director of the political department of the Ministry of People's Security, Pak Jung Gun, vice-minister of people's security and leading officials of the center.
The soldier-builders and employees of the farm have laid a material and technical foundation to breed various species of freshwater fishes through the drive to implement to the letter the tasks put forth by Kim Jong Il while inspecting the fish farm in may 1999.
Greatly satisfied to learn that the soldier-builders carried out a gigantic expansion project in two years and energetically conducted the work to improve its environment, thus changing the appearance of the fish farm beyond recognition, he highly praised their success.
After looking round the fish farm, he put forth highly important tasks which would serve as a guideline in further developing the fish breeding in the country.
He said that the construction of modern fish breeding centres based on the latest science and technology such as catfish factories, rainbow trout breeding farms in different parts of the country in recent years has opened a bright prospect of realizing the ardent wish of President Kim Il Sung to provide more fishes to the people.
Saying that our country has favourable conditions for large-scale fish breeding as it abounds in rivers, lakes, spring water and hot springs, he called for breeding fishes as a nationwide movement to bring about a fresh turn in this work.
He underscored the need to find out all places suitable for fish breeding and build more fish breeding farms while making a good use of spring water and hot springs, so that all places where there is water may teem with fishes.
Noting that breeds are essential for fish culture, he stressed that all the fish breeding farms should be supplied with good species to steadily raise the productivity of freshwater fishes.
To this end it is necessary to intensify the scientific researches and steadily enhance the role of the breeders and technicians, he added.
Pointing out that as fish culture is important for supplying more fishes to the people, he called for finding timely and satisfactory solutions to all the problems including food problem and took measures to resolve them.
He earnestly instructed all the fields and units to conduct fish breeding in a revolutionary manner and rapidly increase the production of freshwater fishes and thus make a new history of fish supply to the people in the era of the Workers' Party of Korea.

U.S. missile test under fire

Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- The U.S. recent renewed test-fire of interceptor missile in the sky above New Mexico state aimed at establishing the "National Missile Defense" system (NMD) is a blatant challenge to the desire of humankind to build a free and peaceful world without aggression and war and an undisguised provocative act of threatening global peace and security, observes rodong sinmun today in a signed commentary. It goes on:
It is ridiculous for the Bush administration to try to justify the NMD under the absurd pretext of "missile strike" from the DPRK.
The U.S. imperialists are the most dangerous nuclear fanatics on earth.
It is the U.S. which has the world's largest nuclear arsenal and it is again the U.S. which has massively deployed missiles in different parts of the world, to say nothing of its mainland.
Its huge nuclear and missile weapons are targeted against the DPRK.
It is quite natural for the DPRK to increase its self-reliant national defence capability to repel the U.S. aggression as the DPRK is exposed to constant nuclear threat from the U.S.
The U.S. is free to blame other sovereign countries for increasing their national defence capability while it is testing, producing and deploying as it pleases any lethal weapons including nuclear weapons and missiles. This clearly shows its arrogant and impudent nature.
The reality proves the validity of the DPRK's army-first policy and the line of attaching importance to the military affairs whereby it has augmented its defence power in confrontation with the U.S. imperialists.
The U.S. imperialists are well advised to drop their foolish calculation that they may go scotfree while sacrificing others under the mask of "missile shield" and get rid of their reckless missile hysteria.

Israel made an airstrike at a Syrian radar base in the eastern part of Lebanon on April 15, killing several Syrian soldiers.
This air raid is an undisguised infringement upon the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and Lebanon and one more grave provocation harassing the mideast security and stability.
