Peaceful reunification is unchangeable principled line of WPK

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today carries a signed article titled "Peaceful reunification is the unchangeable principled line of the Worker's Party of Korea."
The President Kim Il Sung set forth long ago the principle of realising Korea's reunification in a peaceful way in conformity with the essence of the issue of national reunification and the desire of the fellow countrymen, the article says, and continues:
The principle, in essence, requires to achieve the reunification of Korea by means of dialogue, negotiations and cooperation, not by force of arms.
To reunify the country in a peaceful way is very just and realistic from the viewpoint of the aspiration and desire of the Korean people, the requirements of the times and the common interests of humankind.
Kim Il Sung indicated a concrete way of peaceful reunification.
It is important to remove the danger of war from the Korean peninsula, create a peaceful atmosphere in favour of national reunification, resolve all the matters standing in the way of reunification through dialogue and negotiations between the north and south and realize reunification of the country on the basis of federal formula.
The prospect of independent and peaceful reunification of the country is becoming brighter following the historic Pyongyang meeting and the publication of the north-south joint declaration. It is no doubt that when the north and the south sincerely implement the joint declaration, it will lead to the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.

Korean people's achievements praised

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Blaise Compaore, President of Burkina Faso, when meeting with the DPRK ambassador to his country on Oct. 17, said that the Korean people were gaining many successes in the revolution and construction under the wise guidance of the respected leader Kim Jong Il.
As he is wisely leading all the Korean people to accomplish the socialist cause through his army-first leadership, everything is going well in the DPRK though it is faced with very difficult conditions, the President said, adding:
The Korean people are initiatively dealing with the issue of national reunification. This is one of the great feats performed by Kim Jong Il who remains faithful to the cause of the President Kim Il Sung.
We will positively support only the line of Kim Jong Il for reunification.

Proposal for founding DFRK supported abroad

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- A lecture meeting and a seminar were held by the United Party of Struggle of Madagascar and the Madagascan Society for the Study of Kim Jong Il's Works on Oct. 18 and 19 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the publication of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK).
Randriamvao Mahubazakasoa Max Halbari, general secretary of the party, in his lecture said that the proposal for founding the DFRK carries the aspiration and desire of the 70 million Korean people as it fairly reflects the interests of the north and the south and those of all classes and strata, proceeding from the reality of Korea, not encroaching upon each other's different ideas and systems.
As the great leader Kim Jong Il leads the movement for Korea's reunification, the proposal for reunification through federation will be certainly realized, he added.
At the seminar held by the society speakers, referring to the issue of Korea's reunification, said that the proposal for founding the DFRK is, indeed, the most reasonable and realistic proposal to open an epochal phase for the reunification of Korea.
The Amerindian Action Movement of Guyana in a statement issued on Oct. 20 in support of this proposal said that the proposal is enjoying positive support and approval not only of the Koreans in the north, south and abroad but also of the world progressives.

Pyongyang, cradle of ideology, faith and will

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Sok Yong Hwa, an unconverted long-term prisoner, released a note titled "Pyongyang is my native home of ideology, faith and will."
Sok, 75, was born in Ryangsan, South Kyongsang Province of South Korea and has his wife and two daughters in South Korea.
He embarked on the road of struggle early in the 1920s and took part in the October popular resistance and underground party activities just after the liberation of Korea from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule on august 15, 1945.
During the Korean War, he conducted guerrilla activities in Kyongsang Province. He, who underwent imprison life twice before the war, was arrested again in 1952 to serve a term of 20 years in prison. And he had been subject to surveillance and persecution for nearly 30 years even after his release.
    In the note Sok said:
I hailed from Ryangsan, South Kyongsang Province, but came to the north of the country where I had never been to and there is no kinsman of mine. It is because I wanted to devote myself to the truly beloved motherland and honor the remainder of my life and Pyongyang is my native home in aspects of ideology, faith and will.
I proudly declare that my native home of ideology, faith and will is Pyongyang where the great President Kim Il Sung lies in state for perpetuity and the great leader Kim Jong Il is administering politics of Juche, the politics based on the idea of believing in the people as in heaven, true to the intention of the President.
In South Korea I had always sung the "Song of General Kim Il Sung" in and out the prison. This song would give mental peace and strength to me in painful troubles.
The greatness of Kim Jong Il was the most unshakable mainstay that encouraged us to keep our principles. I felt more deeply the conviction that guided by him, we have nothing to be afraid of in the world and the final victory of socialism is sure to be won as well as the belief that it was quite right that we had overcome sufferings and hardships.
In conclusion Sok said that under the care of the DPRK he would devote himself with sincerity to Kim Jong Il and contribute to accelerating national reunification, though he is too old and ailing.

A report was made at the ceremony and then rules were examined.
Takashi Shiraishi was elected chairman of the league.

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- GIs are committing outrages one after another in South Korea, Seoul-based radios reported.
Scores of tanks under the second division of the U.S. forces stationed in Tongduchon appeared without a notice on Oct. 25 and ran over rice spread to be dried up on the roadside.
It was disclosed that two GIs deliberately destroyed scores of trucks of South Korean people in Inchon on the same day.

Improved DPRK-Japan relations are unthinkable without honest reflection and apology

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Even at the historic turn of the century Japan, clamoring about non-existent "kidnapping issue" of the DPRK, still refuses to make a proper apology for the unprecedented crimes the Japanese imperialists committed in the past. Without Japan's honest reflection and apology there can be no trust and improved relations between the DPRK and Japan.
Rodong Sinmun stresses this in a signed article today.
    The article says:
There are movements in various countries to settle outstanding issues of the 20th century at the turn of the century and greet the new century. Some time ago the Roman Catholic Church made an apology for its wrong which dates back to 400 years.
The behaviour of Japan presents a sharp contrast with that of Germany that passed a bill calling denial of Nazi massacres as historic facts to account before making a state compensation for them.
Only Japan refuses to make an apology for the past crimes.
It does not reflect on the past, but misses the bygone days.
In actuality, it is stepping up preparations for reinvasion in full swing watching for a chance for revenge in order to make up for its defeat.
While taking insincere attitude towards the issue of apology it is obliged to settle, it is hell-bent on taking military and legal step designed to realise its wild ambition for reconquest.
Herein lies the danger of militarist aggression on the part of the Japanese reactionaries.
Japan regards Korea as the first target of attack for overseas aggression.
It is watching for a chance for reinvasion behind the curtain of "improvement of relations."
It should face up to the changed times. Korea today in particular, and do what it should do with correct viewpoint.
It should make a sincere reflection on and an apology for the past wrongs.
By doing so it should show to the international community the will not to repeat the crime-woven past.
That will be beneficial to Japan.
The Japanese authorities should have a good understanding of the anti-Japanese feelings and psychology of the army and people of the DPRK, approach the talks with sincere stance and agree to the liquidation of the past, an outstanding issue of history, at an early date.

Reckless challenge to peace

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary brands the Japan-U.S. joint combined field maneuver planned by the Japanese reactionaries to stage in November under simulated conditions of "contingencies in the area surrounding Japan" as military operations to put into practice the "law related to emergencies in the area surrounding Japan " with "emergency" on the Korean peninsula in mind.
If Japan earnestly wants peace, its favorite phrase, it should make efforts to promote the positive developments on the Korean peninsula, the news annalist says, and continues:
However, the Japanese reactionaries are now resorting to military drills for the purpose of rendering the situation of the Korean peninsula strained and, under this pretext, stepping up their preparations for a military giant and reinvasion.
Talks for opening diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Japan are going on. The 11th round of DPRK-Japan intergovernmental talks will shortly be held.
Japan's moves are categorically contrary to the purport and purpose of the talks.
Brandishing a sword against the partner while talking about "opening of relations" is contrary to the diplomatic etiquette and common sense and it is just an act of creating military confrontation and danger of war, not a standpoint for improvement of relations.
The Korean people and the Asian people will never allow the war moves of Japanese and U.S. bellicose forces.
The Japanese reactionaries' taking the road of confrontation and reinvasion against the trend of the times will only result in their own isolation and destruction.

U.S. forces side admits infiltration of fighters

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The U.S. aggression forces committed a grave military provocation by infiltrating two fighters deep into the air above Phanmun county, Kaesong, the DPRK, on October 26 all of sudden.
In this regard a contact was held between the Korean People's Army side and the U.S. forces side at panmunjom today.
At the contact the KPA side stated that the U.S. forces side's infiltration of fighters in broad daylight after launching the large-scale "Foal Eagle" joint military exercise against the DPRK is a wanton violation of paragraph 16 of the Armistice Agreement and a very grave criminal act to chill the north-south ties and scuttle the normalization of the DPRK-U.S. relations.
If the U.S. forces side commits another military provocation, persisting in the war exercise to invade the DPRK, the people's army will have no option but to exercise the right of self-defence against the provocateurs, the KPA side stressed.
It strongly demanded the U.S. forces side admit and apologize for the intrusion into the air above the DPRK, punish the criminals and take a strict measure to prevent recurrence of such case.
The U.S. forces side said it admitted that two fighters intruded into the air above the area under the control of the KPA side beyond the military demarcation line due to carelessness while in training and felt deeply regrettable for the occurrence of such case.
Noting that a thoroughgoing investigation into the case is under way and a proper step will be taken when it is completed, it said that every possible measure is being taken lest such case should reoccur.
The KPA side will closely watch the future movement of the U.S. military.
