Symposium on Kim Jong Il's work held in Russia

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- A symposium of representatives from communist parties, left-wing social movements and organizations in maritime province of Russia on General Secretary Kim Jong Il's celebrated work "Socialism Is a Science" was held in Vladivostok on November 1.
Speeches were made at the symposium by the secretary of the maritime provincial committee and first secretary of the Vladivostok city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
They said that Kim Jong Il in his work stressed the need to rely on the socialist theory of Juche without fail if socialism is to be upheld and its final victory achieved, and comprehensively proved the scientific accuracy, truth, validity and vitality of socialism.
They praised his work as a historic declaration in the present times which proclaimed the revival of the socialist movement and a new advancement of the socialist cause based on the Juche idea.
Kim Jong Il not only theoretically proved that socialism is sure to revive and achieve final victory, but showed a practical example by smashing the vicious moves of the imperialist allied forces and wisely leading Korean socialism with his army-first policy and army-first revolutionary leadership.
A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the symposium.

Another case of massacre disclosed

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- It has recently been brought to light that the U.S. aggression forces committed massacre in Tanyang, North Chungchong Province, on January 20, 1951, the November issue of the South Korean magazine Mal reported.
The magazine disclosed the truth about GIs' atrocities quoting the content of the letter sent by U Kye Hong, a local historian of Tanyang, to the authorities in September 1991, that is 8 years ago, as regards American atrocity and testimonies of witnesses and victims.
According to it, more than 400 people were burned or choked to death in a cave called "Kokgye tunnel" in Sang-ri, Yongchun sub-county, Tanyang county, by formations of U.S. bombers when they took shelter there.
The authorities, however, turned down the letter for fear of exposure of GIs' crimes. They had deleted the names of the dead from the "census register" when rearranging it after the war.
According to testimonies of villagers, U.S. soldiers examined and photographed the scene of massacre aboard helicopter one month after the atrocity.
Witnesses said, "there must be photographs in the U.S. forces' archives. When they are opened to the public, the truth will be brought to light."

S. Korea-Japan criminal conspiracy

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The South Korea-Japan parliamentary union reportedly had the 26th joint meeting on November 6 at which a "joint statement" was issued.
In the 8-point statement the two sides vowed to "strengthen the cooperation system against North Korea" and strive to give "suffrage" to Koreans in Japan.
By "strengthening of the cooperation system against North Korea" the Japanese militarists and the South Korean authorities meant stepping up the criminal efforts to isolate and stifle the DPRK through "cooperation" under the manipulation of U.S.
The meeting came at a time when the madcap "Foal Eagle" joint military maneuvers are under way and the moves to dispatch Japan's "Self-Defence Forces" to the Korean peninsula "in case of emergency" are getting more undisguised. This shows their design for aggression has reached a very ill-boding stage.

Book on DPRK published in Bulgaria

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The Nix Print Publishing House of Bulgaria Friday published the book "Korea of Juche Seen from the Peak of 20th Century," written by the director of the strategic research institute in Sofia.
Printed on the book is a picture of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
It has a preface, 4 chapters and a conclusion.
The author says that the Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung and its great vitality, the justice of Marshal Kim Jong Il's policy of giving priority to the army and its invincible might have been clearly proved in the practice of the Korean revolution. It was thanks to the outstanding leadership of Kim Jong Il that the Korean people could have strong faith and will and defend the dignity of Korea of Juche by decisively foiling the moves of the U.S.-led imperialists to stifle and isolate the DPRK, he adds, and continues:
The single-hearted unity of the Korean people achieved in the latter half of the 20th century and the history of creation and changes in the socio-economic field which have changed the appearance of modern Korea beyond recognition are closely associated with the august name of Kim Jong Il.
He is a rare great man and the greatest commander in the world who enriched the political history of humankind through his outstanding ideological and theoretical activities and with his prominent leadership and noblest virtue and brilliantly decorated the 20th century with Korean-style socialism.

Japan "SDF" ready to be dispatched to Korea

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The Japanese militarists have already worked out an operation plan to dispatch the "Self-Defence Forces" to South Korea allegedly to "rescue" Japanese in South Korea "in case of emergency on the Korean peninsula," a news report from Seoul said.
According to the operation plan disguised as "non-combatants rescue guidelines," Japan will issue an "emergency order" to mobilize the "SDF" in "rescue operations" the moment the South Korea-U.S. "combined forces command" issues an order for war preparations.
The plan was not worked out by the Japanese reactionaries themselves but is part of the anti-DPRK war plan made within the framework of the U.S.-Japan-South Korea tripartite military alliance.
The situation on the Korean peninsula is growing tenser due to the Japanese militarists' reckless move to get involved in a new war against the DPRK.

U.S.-S. Korea joint war exercises slammed

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the South Korean authorities staged the "Foal Eagle" joint military exercises across South Korea and at its waters for eleven days from October 26. They were a replica of "Team Spirit" joint military exercises, a nuclear test war against the DPRK, and a dangerous war gamble aimed at provoking a second Korean war, stresses Rodong Sinmun in a signed commentary today.
    The paper says:
The purpose of "Foal Eagle" was for the U.S. and the South Korean Army to make a surprise preemptive total attack on the DPRK while staging military exercises such as joint landing operations, special joint naval drill and mobile air strike drill.
However, it could not develop to a total war against the DPRK due to the self-defensive measure taken by the DPRK with highest vigilance and full readiness to counter the enemies' maneuverings.
We do not want a war, but will never show mercy to those who try to hurt us with daggers.
It is foolish of the U.S. to regard the Korean peninsula as Persian gulf or the Balkans.
They will only get corpses and death if they dare provoke us in a bid to gratify the wild design they failed to realize in the 50s.
The warlikers should stop such dangerous war gambles against the DPRK, clearly knowing who is their opponent.

Repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners demanded

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- Samuel Saul, chairman of the Guyana-DPRK Friendship Association, issued a statement on November 2 demanding the repatriation of the unconverted long-term prisoners in South Korea.
He in his statement said that now the progressive people of the world are lifting up their voices demanding the repatriation of old Kim In So, Ham Se Hwan and Kim Yong Thae, the unconverted long-term prisoners in South Korea.
Denouncing the South Korean authorities' refusal to repatriate the unconverted long-term prisoners as the worst violation of human rights, he held that they must be repatriated to their native places where their families are waiting for them, as required by the Korean Armistice Agreement.
He expressed firm solidarity with the South Korean people in their struggle for the release of all political prisoners including the unconverted long-term prisoners.

New electric locomotives produced

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- New electric locomotives "second grand Chollima march" have been manufactured in Korea.
The locomotives that reflect the spirit of the times of Korea running at a canter on a steed are a gift made by the workers of the Kim Jong Thae General Electric Locomotive Works to the meeting of frontrankers of the second grand Chollima march.
The workers, deeply aware of the role the railway transportation has to play in building an economically powerful nation, set the goal of presenting the locomotives to the historic meeting. They succeeded in building the locomotives in a short span of time by making what they lack and tapping what they feel short of. Thousands of tons of materials and accessories including carbide and welding rods were produced at more than 30 bases built by themselves.
Meanwhile, they could secure more than 100 kinds of materials and accessories on their own efforts through the introduction into production of hundreds of valuable technical innovation proposals including technologies for producing a variety of bearings, resistance wires and insulating varnish.
The produced locomotives are to be sent to the Kilju, Huichon and Kowon locomotive corps which have strain on transport.
The officials and workers of the Kim Jong Thae General Electric Locomotive Works honored their annual plan as of October 26 in hearty response to the militant call of the Worker's Party of Korea for marking this year as a great turning-point in building a powerful nation.

Roadbed of Pyongyang-Nampho Motorway laid

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- Roadbed of Pyongyang-Nampho Motorway extending 40 odd kilometers has been formed in the main.
The construction of roadbed and irrigation structures has been finished in the whole motorway section between the Mangyongdae fork in Pyongyang and Sangdaedu-dong, Hanggu district, Nampho. At present this section is used by vehicles involved in the motorway project.
The project of this motorway which will link Pyongyang with Nampho, has been undertaken by young people.
Over the past one year, the young builders removed more than 12.6 million cubic metres of earth, spread over 950,000 cubic metres of grabbles and sand and used over 100,000 cubic metres of mixture of cement and sand for concrete tamping by fully displaying the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance though they were short of machinery and equipment.
They successfully conducted several blasting for blowing up hills to remove 200,000 or 300,000 cubic meters of earth and ran over 40 km a day, carrying bags full of earth on their shoulders to lay roadbed.
High appreciation has been given to them who finished such a vast project even under the difficult conditions in which they were short of everything.
The young builders are determined to completely finish the project before October 10 next year on which the 55th anniversary of the Worker's Party of Korea falls.

U.S. urged to drop sinister design

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary lashes out at the U.S. for releasing results of the opinion poll on the issue of "dispatching the U.S. forces in case of 'attack' against Japan by North Korea" and putting forward "guidelines" for pushing "diplomatic and security policies concerning its biological and chemical weapons."
    The commentary says:
The opinion poll conducted by the U.S. on the issue of "attack against Japan by North Korea" and its talk about the dispatch of its forces to "defend Japan" are intended to accelerate the arms buildup on the absurd pretext of "threat" from the DPRK, and, furthermore, stifle the DPRK by force of arms.
The United States has many military bases in South Korea, Japan and other areas around the Korean peninsula where more than 100,000 strong forces are deployed. Not content with this, it seeks to hurl more sophisticated operational equipment including nuclear weapons and aggression forces into there.
The United States is trying to justify its arms buildup in Japan by spreading the theory of "threat" from the DPRK and calm down the anti-U.S., anti-war spirit daily mounting among the Japanese people and get Japan more deeply involved in the execution of its policy of aggression by creating the impression that the DPRK poses a "threat" to the security of Japan.
"Diplomatic and security policies concerning biological and chemical weapons of North Korea" peddled by the U.S. bellicose forces are nothing but a sinister plot to deploy more biological and chemical weapons along with nukes for a new Korean war.
The U.S. loudmouthed peace on the Korean peninsula and improved relations are no more than rhetoric.
If the U.S. continues to behave as now, it will be impossible to avoid a war, much less defusing the tensions on the Korean peninsula.
Its bellicose forces are well advised to ponder over the consequences to be entailed by the policy of stifling the DPRK and behave properly.
