Greetings to Gabonese President
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, President of the presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, sent a message of greetings to El Hadj Omar Bongo upon his reelection as President of the Gabonese Republic.
The message said that his reelection was an expression of Gabonese people's trust in and expectation for him.
It wished him greater success in his future work for the prosperity of the country and expressed the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would strengthen and develop.
Greetings to Macedonian Prime Minister
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Hong Song Nam, Premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, sent a message of greetings to Ljupco Georgievski upon his election as Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia.
Expressing the belief that the cooperative relations between the two countries would continue developing on good terms, the message wished him success in his work for the stability and development of the country.
Righteous struggle for vital rights
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today comes out with a signed commentary on the struggle of South Korean workers against "restructuring of conglomerates" by the authorities.
Saying that their struggle is an eruption of their wrath and resentment against the authorities who are imposing only misfortunes and sufferings upon them and a righteous struggle for vital rights, the news analyst of the paper continues:
300,000 workers will additionally lose their jobs owing to the "restructuring of conglomerates."
The South Korean authorities seek in this to bridge over the ruling crisis from the catastrophic economic turmoil in exchange for filling pockets of foreign monopoly capitalists and comprador businesses by sacrificing workers.
Accordingly, the powerful struggle of South Korean workers to win their vital rights against the ruling ouarters is only too natural.
Genuine rights and interests can be won only through dauntless struggle.
U.S. moves against DPRK will be frustrated
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Solidarity meetings took place in different countries to support the statement of the spokesman for the general staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA).
The meetings expressed full support to the steadfast stand of the Korean people and People's army against the aggressive moves of the United States.
It was stressed at meetings which were held in Guyana and Bulgaria on Dec. 10 that as long as there is the wise guidance of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il with matchless grit and there is the KPA with the firm determination to achieve the cause of national reunification, the U.S. imperialists' moves will be frustrated.
An appeal which was adopted at the meeting held in Guyana reaffirmed support to the struggle of the Korean people.
It called upon the world progressive people to extend firm solidarity to the Korean people's struggle for justice.
A statement was adopted at the meeting held in Bulgaria.
It said that if the U.S. imperialist aggressors unleash a war in Korea, they will get an annihilating blow by the KPA and sustain a disgraceful defeat.
Meetings took place in Guinea on Dec. 8.
An appeal which was adopted at a meeting of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science called upon the world peace-loving people to wage the brisk solidarity movement supporting the just struggle of the Korean people and army to defend the nation's dignity and sovereignty.
S. Korean rulers' economic "restructuring" denounced
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- The spokesman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea issued a statement on December 18 in connection with struggle of workers and people from all walks of life against the anti-popular labor policies pursued by the South Korean rulers under the manipulation of the U.S. imperialists.
The South Korean authorities and business conglomerates decided on and published a "program of restructuring" of five conglomerates on December 7 under the pressure of the International Monetary Fund, which is led by the U.S.imperialists. And they are going to expand the "restructuring" to other businesses, which will result in massive layoffs.
Anti-U.S., anti-"government" rallies and demonstrations staged by labour organizations, workers, evacuated citizens and students are an eruption of pent-up resentment against the flunkeyist and treacherous moves of the rulers, who have killed the economy. They are also a righteous struggle to retake the dignity of human being and the right to existence.
The present South Korean rulers have sold off factories, banks, buildings and even land to monopoly capitalists of the United States and other countries, crying for introduction of foreign capital which is ruinous to the economy. And they have ruined the economy with super-retrenchment policy, high interest policy and "economic restructuring," bowing to the pressure of IMF.
The reality shows that the South Korean rulers are the traitors to the nation, who completely trample down even the vital rights of workers and people, joining hands with outside forces, for maintenance of power and their enrichment and prosperity.
The only choice of the South Korean workers and people is to put an end to the domination of outside forces and the misrule of the rulers through indomitable struggle against the U.S. and "government".
Rodong Sinmun on U.S. war moves
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today runs a signed article on the provocative moves of the United States to unleash a war in Korea.
The author of the article says:
The United States, fancing itself to be the "only superpower," is now trying to ignite the train of war in Korea without elementary estimation.
This is as foolish as digging its own grave.
The U.S. loudly advertised the past Persian Gulf War involving firing of some missiles as if it had been a modern warfare.
Its behaviour reminds people of a foolish cat satisfied with the capture of a young rat.
"Air and ground warfare" and "surgical operation-style" strike on its lips do not work in confrontation with the DPRK.
If it finally unleash a war without proper knowledge of the other party and its own capabilities, it will be the last war which can be ignited by the U.S. which has fattened up through wars.
Anachronistic is the U.S. design to extricate itself from the serious crisis by igniting a second Korean war of aggression.
It will never use the united nations as a theatre to justify its aggressive design as it did in the past Korean War. There will be few countries which will send their soldiers as war cannon fodder afraid of U.S. threats.
Its attempt to provoke Korean war is a hopeless adventure.
The U.S. will sustain only death in Korean war.
S. Korean historian on exploits of masters of historyWoman commander of Mt. Paektu
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Choe Jin Song, a researcher of the South Korean Institute of Historical Affairs, published a lengthy article on the noble feats performed by the peerlessly great men in formulating national history, according to radio Voice of National Salvation from Seoul.
He said:
North Korea named the ancient culture on the basin of the River Taedong centering on Pyongyang "Taedonggang Culture." This is a great event in the five-thousand-year history of the nation.
In the article headlined "as there are great men, history is set to rights" he wrote about the energetic study and sacred feats of President Kim Il Sung, brilliant archaeologist and the greatest veteran of history, and the great leader Kim Jong Il, great master of history and genius of historical science.
The academic world of history is now acclaiming the discovery of "Taedonggang Culture" which holds a full-fledged place in the five major civilizations of the world, he said. With this naming the "theory of cultural transference," which explains the development of the primitive culture on the Korean peninsula by extrinsic action and finds the origin and native place of the founder of the nation in an alien country, has proved false.
According to the author's view, the history of the Korean nation, which had been distorted and obliterated by the flunkeyist historians and reptile imperialist historians, has been corrected by the energetic study and outstanding leadership of the great veterans of true history.
The article continued:
President Kim Il Sung ascertained many relics and remains with his clairvoyant insight and scientific logic and corrected the position of "great victory in Salsu" no one had doubted for more than a thousand years. And he gave a scientific exposition of the date of building of the successive states of Korea including ancient Korea, Puyo, Paekje and Silla and personally found the mausoleum of King Tangun, the founder of the Korean nation, which had remained open to question.
The leader Kim Jong Il reformulated the logic of unification of three states by Silla which had been regarded as an established theory for 800 years, gave a new exposition of the territorial unification by Koryo and made sure that Palhae, together with Silla, should be dealt with in the main system in delineating the history of the Korean nation from the late seventh century to the early tenth century. And he gave answers to important questions arising in the history of the nation as a whole including the question of the birth and formation of the nation, thus setting an example in the study of history based on the Juche view of history.
Thus, they put to rights the five-thousand-year history of the Korean nation, a history which would otherwise have been buried in obscurity. They placed the history of the nation on the highest peak of the world history. They are indeed great teachers of history, great masters in the academic world of human history and peerless patriots.
Woman commander of Mt. Paektu
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Aleksandr Brezhnev, a Russian poet, published a poem "Woman Commander of Mt. Paektu" on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Kim Jong Suk, an indomitable communist revolutionary fighter (December 24).
Saying that Kim Jong Suk had always carried a pistol with her, the poem noted that she defended commander Kim Il Sung with it and handed it to commander Kim Jong Il so that he took over the lifeline of the revolutionary cause of Juche.
She devotedly defended the headquarters of the revolution in military uniform with the pistol in the struggle against one million-strong Kwantung army, it said, adding: she was the woman commander of the Korean revolution and a heroine of Mt. Paektu without an equal in history.
I see Korea, the country of generalissimo Kim Il Sung and Marshal Kim Jong Il vibrant with songs in the fluttering red flag of victory.
Indeed, Mt. Paektu is the mountain of commanders Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Suk.
War method of Korea
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang is filled with conviction that the option for preemptive strike is not a monopoly of the United States and the Korean people will emerge victorious with their own operation plan and flawless anti-Japanese guerrilla war method to carry it into practice.
Kim Chol Man, an anti-Japanese revolutionary veteran, had this to say:
The Korean people and people's army are imbedded with the indomitable fighting spirit and versed in the anti-Japanese guerrilla war method taught by President Kim Il Sung in the 1930's. The Korean people and army will fight as they did in the anti-Japanese war and the Fatherland Liberation War so as to accomplish the historic cause of national reunification.
The anti-Japanese guerrilla war method is very instrumental in seizing the initiative in any situation, keeping the enemy on the defensive and dealing a telling blow at the enemy.
It proved its worth in the two wars against Japan and the U.S.
Although the Korean people's revolutionary army was not a regular army and had no backing of the state, it always seized the initiative in a lot of operations and battles against the one million-strong Kwantung army of the Japanese imperialists and liberated the country.
The war method also proved its great merit in the last Korean War in which the myth of the "mightiness" of the U.S. imperialists was shattered to smithereens and their "history of victory" came to an end.
The Korean People's Army (KPA) has powerful means of offensive and defense for a modern war. It has a Juche-based war method as well. Invincible is the KPA that has increased strike capacity unlimitedly and practiced protean tactics.
The Korean war method proved successful in the two wars and has been very instrumental in defending the bulwark of socialism for decades.
Sooner or later, the U.S. will be aware of what the Korean War method is like.
CPRF spokesman on alleged "intrusion of north's submarine"
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the fatherland, in an interview with KCNA on December 18, denounced the South Korean for fabricating one more anti-north incident and escalating military tensions.
He said:
As already reported, the South Korean puppets said that they located a "submarine" in the sea off Ryosu, South Jolla Province, at 11:15 p.m. on December 17 and had a battle in which the "submarine" was sunken and they brought a dead body clad in diving-suit to the land. They also said that they issued an order called "Jindogae nN.1" throughout the coastal areas of South Korea and have been put on the red alert.
This time, too, the puppets described the "incident" as the "intrusion by the north," shifting the blame on to the north.
This frantic anti-communist campaign is a continuation of the anti-communist, anti-north campaign such as the fiction of the "intrusion of the north's vessel" near the coast of the Kanghwa island on the West Sea of Korea and the description of a flock of birds as "something mysterious" in the sea off the Kanghwa island. The incidents have nothing to do with the north.
Now the South Korean are trying hard to find a pretext for unleashing a war against the north in line with the U.S. imperialists' moves for war against the DPRK.
It goes without saying that the "north's submarine infiltration incident" is a farce cooked up for that purpose.
We can no longer remain a passive onlooker to the South Korean continuous anti-communist campaign and slander against the north. The campaign can convince no one.
We will take resolute measures so that the provokers may drink a bitter cup.
We seriously warn the South Korean not to act rashly.
