Month of int'l solidarity with Korean people opens

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- An opening ceremony of a month of international solidarity with the Korean people from June 25 to July 27 was held in Vienna on May 30. The chairman of the preparatory committee said in his speech that the U.S. have illegally occupied South Korea for over half a century and blocked Korea's reunification instead of drawing lessons from their disgraceful defeat in the Korean war. He said that under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, the Korean people make a long drive in their struggle for socialism in defiance of fierce confrontation with the U.S.-led reactionaries of the world. To further strengthen solidarity with the Korean people is the invariable will of the communist party of Austria and the progressive people, he added. A resolution adopted at the ceremony extended full support to the Korean people's struggle to force the U.S. troops blocking the peaceful development of the Korean peninsula out of South Korea at an early date and put an end to Korea's division.

S. Korean puppets' suppression of labour movement denounced

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Workers and farmers met in Phyongsong, Sariwon and Nampho to denounce the South Korean puppet clique for suppressing labour movement. The general strike of South Korean workers can not be "illegal" in any case, the meetings said, and urged the South Korean puppets to stop at once crackdown upon just struggle of workers. The participants said that they have stood on the side of South Korean workers since they launched a strike, and extended full support to them again. The meetings called upon South Korean peasants and students and other people to take an active part in the workers' struggle to smash the anti-social labour policy of the puppet clique in firm unity with them.

Japan hit for its fiction of "suspected abduction"

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The result of the recent survey of a concerned body in the northern half of Korea shows that Korea has no man who had been abducted from Japan, which tells that it has been revealed with added clarity that the "suspected abduction" on the lips of the Japanese reactionaries is part of an anti-DPRK smear campaign. Rodong Sinmun says this in a signed commentary today. The news analyst says: The fiction of the "suspected abduction" is a plot hatched by the South Korean puppet Agency for National Security Planning with insufficient evidence in order to slander the northern half of Korea. Only the Japanese reactionaries join the South Korean puppets in their anti-DPRK smear campaign. The Japanese reactionaries seek in this to bring about artificial obstacle in the resumption of the DPRK-Japan negotiations by using it as preconditions for them. This proves that Japan still refuses to do away with the crime-woven past. The normalisation of the DPRK-Japan relations is aimed to establish the relations of good neighbourhood and friendship on the basis of the apology and compensation to the Korean people by Japan which inflicted misfortune, pains and disasters upon them. By branding the DPRK as an "abductor" the Japanese side intends to upgrade its standing at the DPRK-Japan negotiations which will be held any time. Theirs is a foolish daydream. The Japanese reactionaries' sustained talk about "suspected abduction" will only betray the miserable plight of Japan and invite publlic condemnation for Japan's playing into hands of the South Korean puppets.
