Songs of General Kim Jong Il disseminated in south Korea
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) --The "whistling" band active in Taegu city, south Korea, has widely disseminated songs of the respected general Kim Jong Il, Seoul-based Radio Voice of National Salvation quoted information of the Taegu City Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK) as saying.
The band had a meeting and vowed to continue disseminating songs revering general Kim Jong Il. for the time being, they planned to record 55 songs including "We'll Uphold Our General Forever", "General Kim Jong Il is the Destiny of the Nation and the Fatherland" and disseminate them among many ideology study circles in city. They also planned to activate the dissemination of songs on several occasions.
Rodong Sinmun on U.S., S. Korean reckless war game
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppets, with the United States, carried out a joint drill to cope with "low-altitude infiltration by aircraft" in the air above a forward area of south Korea on December 5 with a sortie of AWACS (airborne warning and control system) from the U.S. air force base in Okinawa.
In commentary Rodong Sinmun today says:
It is the first time that the Kim Young Sam group had a boss of the puppet air force aboard AWACS in a military drill. the ill-boding military move clearly indicates that the south Korean warmongers are trying hard to complete war preparation and unleash a war against the north.
The puppets said the latest drill was aimed at increasing the capacity of coping with "the infiltration of north Korean commandoes from the air".
They also said such a drill will be continued because of the "north's threat". While clamouring about the "north's threat", however, they want to justify their escalating war preparation.
The Kim Young Sam group of warmongers must stop war gambles, clearly mindful that their reckless war preparation will precipitate their doom.
Kim Jong Il inspects Kim Il Sung Political University
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, Sunday inspected Kim Il Sung Political University entitled Kum Song Lifeguard.
He was accompanied by KPA vice marshal Jo Myong Rok, director of the general political department of the KPA= KPA vice marshal Kim Yong Chun, chief of the general staff of the KPA= generals of the KPA Hyon Chol Hae, Kim Ha Gyu and Jang Song U= and colonel generals of the KPA Pak Jae Gyong, Ri Myong Su and Kim Tae Sik.
Comrade Kim Jong Il was greeted by lieutenant general Ok Pong Rin and other generals and officers of the KPA and leading officials of the university.
The university had been visited by the great leader President Kim Il Sung on some 40 occasions and by comrade Kim Jong Il on some 20 occasions.
In the past 50 odd years the university has successfully trained competent political workers as the highest-level training centre for political workers of the people's army.
After receiving a welcome report, comrade Kim Jong Il, conducted by the president of the university, went round the monument to the on-site guidance of the president and the boards bearing his on-the-spot teachings in the compound of the university.
Comrade Kim Jong Il said that in the first days of leading the cause of army building the president attached great importance to the political and ideological work of the party within the army and founded Kim Il Sung Political University, so that the people's army could be strengthened and developed into revolutionary armed forces unfailingly loyal to the party, the revolution, the country and the people.
Then, he went to the room for the study of the building of the Workers' Party of Korea to acquaint himself with educational work at the university.
He taught that as the university is a training centre to produce able political workers of the army, it should above all direct great efforts to politico-ideological education of the cadets.
Thanks to such powerful training centres for political workers of the army as this university, the Korean People's Army has grown up into a matchlessly strong army as it is today and reliably guarantees the revolutionary cause of Juche, the socialist cause, without any vacillation under any storm and stress, he said, adding that Kim Il Sung Political University is a great pride of the party and people and is what they can boast of all over the world.
He called at the refectory of the university to learn how the cadets were supplied with food and how supply service was done.
And he indicated how the university should develop.
He gave a machine gun, an automatic rifle and a pair of binoculars to the teaching staff and cadets as gifts.
He posed for a photograph with professors, doctors and other teachers of the university.
Increasing defence budget in s. Korea
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- The Kim Young Sam group of south Korea fixed a 13,786.5 billion won for 1997's "defence budget" 12.6 higher than this year's, for war preparation against the north, the Seoul-based radio no. 1 said.
It, 80 billion won more than the amount they had drawn up, is the largest increase since the "civilian government" appeared.
They have said the increased budget was necessary to cope with the north's "strategy against the south" and "surprise infiltration into the south."
The "increase of defence budget" is part of the puppets' persistent moves to attack the north. it fully betrays again the traitorous colors of the Kim Young Sam group as vicious warmongers and separatists.

Japanese authorities must take responsibility
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- The Japanese authorities are trying to evade the responsibility for the indoctrination of militarism and reinvasion moves in Japan, alleging that this is a "tendency of the rightwing forces at home".
Commenting on this, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun today says:
This is nothing but a petty trick to evade the responsibility of the Japanese government.
The Japanese authorities are now resorting to an artifice to dispel international apprehensions over their indoctrination of militarism and reinvasion moves.
Their intention is to dispel international concern and continue to advance along the road of militarism at any cost.
In July, the chief executive of Japan himself visited the "Yasukuni Shrine". he still holds that post.
The new ruling Liberal Democratic Party of Japan included the official visit to the "Yasukuni Shrine" in its election commitments. How should we view this behaviour?
The new "outline of the defence program" which was adopted in November last year for the purpose of becoming a military power has been continuously carried on by the present government as its policy.
It is none other than the present chief executive of Japan who signed the "Japan-U.S. joint declaration on security" and thus extended by law the operational sphere of the aggression forces of Japan as far as the Asia-Pacific region.
The present Japanese government has evaded the liquidation of the past as the successive authorities did. Judging from all happenings, it is clear that Japan takes indoctrination of militarism, military powerism and reinvasion as its state policy.
The Japanese authorities would be well advised to throw away the foolish attempt to deceive the world public opinion.
