Comrade Kim Jong Il visits Kim Il Sung university
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The great leader comrade
Kim Jong Il visited Kim Il Sung university on December 7 on
its 50th founding anniversary.
When he arrived at the university at 3 P.M., leading
officials of the university greeted him at its entrance.
He warmly congratulated the teachers and students of the
university on its 50th anniversary and went round it.
The university, the first genuine university for the
people in our country which was founded on the initiative of
the great leader president Kim Il Sung and under his
guidance, has covered a proud road of victory and glory for
half a century together with the prosperous and developing
country.
Over the past 50 years, the university has developed into
the highest seat of education and science and has trained a
large number of able revolutionaries under the leadership of
president Kim Il Sung, breaking through the storms and
stresses of the revolution. By doing so, it has creditably
played a pivotal role in carrying out the policy of training
native cadres of the country and the policy of assimilating
the whole of society to intelligentsia and greatly
contributed to the development technology through brisk
scientific researches.
He first went to the statue of president Kim Il Sung
standing on the top of ryongnam hill and said with deep
emotion that the university is a glorious one which was born
and developed under the president's care.
He enjoyed a bird's-eye view of the university quarters
occupying a vast area around ryongnam hill and said that it
is the high pride of the workers' party and people of Korea
to have Kim Il Sung university, the highest seat of
education and science, in which the sons and daughters of
the working people receive university education to their
heart's content.
Then, he visited the exhibition of achievements in
education and science which was arranged at the university
on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
He saw more than 5,000 exhibits associated with unknown
efforts of teachers and students faithful to the socialist
cause.
He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the
university has trained a large number of able native cadres
who play a pivotal role in the revolution and construction
and made tremendous successes in expounding the juche-based
theories of social science, and solving scientific and
technological problems in socialist economic construction
and developing new scientific and technological spheres
through scientific researches from the juche point of view.
he highly appreciated the exploits performed by the teachers
and students of the university for the party and the
revolution, the country and the people.
He visited the new hostel and refectory which were built
in the university quarters on a grand scale.
He inspected the inside and outside of them. He
learnedhow they were built and looked round bedrooms,
welfare facilities and appointments and said that deep
concern should always be paid to the life of students.
He set forth highly important tasks which would serve as
guidelines in education, teaching, study, scientific
research and management of the university.
He stressed that ideological education of students should
be intensified to bring them up to be true intellectuals who
are devoted to the party and the revolution.
Pointing out that education of students is of particular
importance to Kim Il Sung university, which trains native
cadres who will play a pivotal role at all posts of society,
he said: In order to train all students to be loyalists and
dutiful sons and daughters, the party organisations and
youth league organisations of the university should
meticulously carry out ideological education suited to their
characteristics and all conditions for it be provided
preferentially and sufficiently.
If the students are to be trained into able workers, he
added, they should be organised to take an active part in
socio-political activities and the quality of the university
education be improved steadily so that they can possess
knowledge of modern science and technology and high creative
ability.
He noted that as the university is the mother of all
universities and colleges in Korea and the training centre
for qualified revolutionaries, its position and role are
very important. All units should actively help the
university in its work, he stressed.
The party and the people have a great expectation and
trust in the university, which has a heavy obligation for
the party and the revolution, the country and the people, he
said, and expressed the firm belief that its teachers and
students would repay this trust and expectation with
loyalty.

Comrade Kim Jong Il sees art performance of students of Kim Il Sung University
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- the great leader comrade
Kim Jong Il on saturday appreciated an art performance given
by students of Kim Il Sung university to mark its 50th
founding anniversary at the april 25 house of culture,
together with its teachers and students.
When he appeared at the box amidst the playing of welcome
music, a storm of cheers burst forth, rocking the theatre.
Appreciating the performance together with him were kye
ung thae, member of the political bureau and secretary of
the central committee of the workers' party of Korea, choe
thae bok, alternate member of the political bureau and
secretary of the wpk central committee, Kim Kuk Thae, Kim Ki
Nam and Kim Jung Rin, members and secretaries of the wpk
central committee, and officials concerned.
The performance began with the chorus "Song of general
Kim Il Sung".
Put on stage were a female solo "We want to be near the
leader," a poem and story "Dawn on ryongnam hill," A dance
"We have risen up in response to the call of the general," A
mixed sextette "We love the university days" and other
colorful art pieces.
The performers vividly showed the proud history of the
university and the happy life of the students who are firmly
preparing themselves to be able revolutionaries boundlessly
loyal to the socialist cause.
He congratulated the students on their successful
performance and warmly waved to the enthusiastically
cheering teachers and students.
He noted with great satisfaction that through the
performance the students vividly showed the revolutionary
and militant life of the students. He expressed the
conviction that the teachers and students of the university
would repay the trust and expectation of the party by
creditably carrying out their duties, upholding the
leadership of the party.
There will be nothing but bad results
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The Kim Young Sam group
of South Korea are now laying artificial obstacles in the
building of light water reactors under the pretext of
"Threat to safety of technicians."
Commenting on this, rodong sinmun today says:
The matters arising in consulate protection of the
personnel of the lwr project were already discussed and
agreed upon between the democratic people's republic of
Korea and the Korean peninsula energy development
organization (KEDO). This fully accords with the competent
international law, international usage and a special
background of the lwr project. Therefore, there will be no
threat to safety of technical personnel.
With the clamour about the "Threat to safety", the Kim
Young Sam group intend to obstruct the implementation of the
DPRK-U.S. agreed framework.
We cannot but blame the united states for the South
Korean puppets' reckless act.
As the united states is the one party responsible for
the implementation of the DPRK-U.S. agreed framework, it
should not allow acts obstructive to it if she is willing to
sincerely implement it.
If the united states dances to the tune of the South
Korean puppets, fleeing from its responsibility, it can
expect neither the implementation of the DPRK-U.S. agreed
framework nor solution to the outstanding issues between the
two countries.
It must make clear its stand and do what it should do.

Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Rodong sinmun today gives
the first three pages to a report that the great leader
comrade Kim Jong Il visited Kim Il Sung university, which
greeted its 50th founding anniversary recently.
The paper prints pictures of comrade Kim Jong Il
calling at the statue of the great leader president
Kim Il Sung on ryongnam hill, seeing round the university's
exhibition of educational and scientific achievements and
meeting professors and doctors of the university. It also
prints a photograph he had taken with them.
He appreciated a performance given by the student art
circlers to celebrate the 50th university anniversary
together with teachers and students of the university,
reports the paper.
The paper introduces various units which are
dynamically pressing ahead with the movement to win the
three revolution red flag in hearty response to the party's
slogan "Let us meet the requirements of juche in ideology,
technology and culture ".
It conveys the news that working people in various parts
of the country are sincerely assisting servicemen of the
people's army.
Given in the paper is a comment berating the South Korean
puppets for laying artificial hurdles in the construction of
light water reactors on the plea of "Threat to personnel
safety".
Spotlighted in it is a press statement issued by O Hyong
Jin, vice-chairman of the central standing committee of the
general association of Korean residents in Japan (chongryon),
denouncing the Japanese police authorities for abuses of
human rights of Koreans in Japan.
The paper comes out with an article analysing desperate
efforts the western powers have exerted to monopolize the
asian weaponry market though the cold war was ended.
Floral basket laid before president Kim Il Sung's statue
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The participants in a
national meeting of model primary organisation chairwomen of
the Korean democratic women's union laid a floral basket
before the statue of the great leader president Kim Il Sung
on mansu hill on December 8.
Written on the ribbon hanging from the floral basket were
letters reading: "The great leader comrade Kim Il Sung will
live forever."
The participants paid homage to president Kim Il Sung,
who devoted his whole life to the prosperity and development
of the country, the happiness of the people and the
strengthening and development of the women's movement.
They vowed to uphold the leadership of comrade
Kim Jong Il with the single heart of loyalty and filial
piety and firmly defend and add lustre to Korean-style
socialism.
Clean-up of corruption and irregularities urged
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- 103 prominent figures of
religious, academic and judicial circles in South Korea
called a press conference on December 6 and released a
statement calling for the clean-up of corruption and
irregularities, according to a radio report from seoul.
The statement recalls that illicit money-hoarding
incidents involving "Government" officials including the
former "Defence minister" and "Minister of health and
welfare", were brought to light one after another recently,
and charges that this "Reveals corruption and irregularities
prevalent in society".
The statement urges the puppet authorities to enact a
basic law to prevent scandals and adopt fundamental measures
to remove corruption and irregularities.
S. Korean authorities urged to pay compensation to students
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The students who had
participated in the august 15 pro-reunification festival
urged the puppet authorities to pay compensation on december
6, according to a radio report from seoul.
They demanded that the authorities pay compensation
because the fascist police injured students by hurling
rocks and firing tear gas canisters at them in crackdown on
the festival at yonsei university.
Malrevision of "Ansp law" under fire
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The South Korean society
of lawyers on December 6 made public a statement against the
malrevision of the "Law on the agency for national security
planning" which has been promoted by the puppet government
and the "New korea party", according to a radio report from
seoul. The statement says that the "Agency for national
security planning" has used some provisions of the "National
security law" for its surveillance for the "Security of
power", adding that the approval of the "Amendment bill" the
keynote of which is to give the "Ansp" more rights to
investigation,
will lead to the continued infringement upon human rights.
Therefore it is necessary to pay more attention to the
control of the "Ansp's" rights to investigation, it notes,
and says no to the malrevision of the "Ansp law".
Conviction of victory of Korean-Style socialism expressed
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Salvador sanchez ceren,
coordinator general of the farabundo marti national
liberation front party of el salvador, expressed the
conviction of the victory of Korean-style socialism.

Chongryon vice-chairman flails Japanese police authorities
pyongyang, december 9 (kcna) -- the vice-chairman of the
central standing committee of the general association of
korean residents in japan (chongryon), o hyong jin, called a
press conference december 6 and released a statement
accusing the japanese police authorities for having read the
"foreigner registration files", according to the tokyo-based
korean new service.
it has been brought to light that a policeman of the
kodaira police station has read "foreigner registration
files", including those on the koreans registered in the
tokyo metropolitan city of kodaira, for several years under
the pretext of "investigation into abuses of the law on
immigration control and refugee recognition", the statement
says.
The case is grave and serious in that it came when
Japanese cabinet members made outbursts of beautifying and
justifying Japan's colonial rule over the Korean peninsula
one after another, and discussions were underway about
enactment of "Emergency legislation" for a "Crisis on the
Korean peninsula" and about tightening of the security
system against Japan-resident Koreans.
The statement exhorted the kodaira police and city
authorities to admit that the policeman's act is a
completely illegal and unjustifiable one and a wanton
violation of human rights, to apologize to all foreigners
concerned and to openly make a fully understandable promise
to take a proper step against the policeman and prevent

Let us take after general Kim Jong Il,great man produced by Heaven
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Kenichi Ogami, secretary
general of the international institute of the juche idea,
published an article on the greatness of the respected
general Kim Jong Il.
In the article titled "Let us take after general
Kim Jong Il, great man produced by heaven" the author
stressed that general Kim Jong Il is a great sun and a
great man who clearly indicates the road for mankind to take
in the 21st century.
General Kim Jong Il is indeed a most ideal, great man
whom all humankind should follow through centuries, the
author said, pointing to some of his human traits from which
humankind should learn. he went on to say:
General Kim Jong Il has perfect loyalty to the leader,
that is, the most important of qualities and traits which
the successor to the leader should have.
It is he who has realized on the highest level the
unanimous desire of the Korean people and the world
progressive people who want to preserve the great
president Kim Il Sung in state.
The juche philosophy is the philosophy of president
Kim Il Sung and, at the same time, the political philosophy
and revolutionary philosophy of general Kim Jong Il.
General Kim Jong Il values the juche philosophy very much
and has performed exploits for human history in
comprehensively systematizing, developing and enriching it.
Consummated in the juche philosophy are his juche-based
world outlook, the outlook on social history, the outlook on
the revolution, the outlook on life, the outlook on
organisation, the outlook on the masses, the outlook on

For his steadfast faith and courage, Kim Jong Il is
the most famous general in the world.
He is ceaselessly giving on-the-spot guidance to
forefront posts and socialist construction sites with
confidence despite the more undisguised manoeuvres of the
imperialists against the dprk.
He looks pacific and energetic at all times.
Only a great man full of faith can have such great looks.
His characteristics are great benevolence for the people
and a merciless blow at the enemy.
The korean people fully take after him.
They accept his outlook on life as their own, live not
merely for today but for the future's sake and vigorously
advance toward the final victory.
As led by general Kim Jong Il, a peerless great man, whom
humankind should follow and take after, the progressive
humankind aspiring after independence will greet the 21st
century as Kim Jong Il's century.
S. Korean authorities accused of abusing submarine incident as bait for confrontation with north
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the
central committee of the dprk red cross society issued a
statement today accusing the South Korean authorities of
abusing the submarine incident as something for an ill-
intentioned political dealing to extremely aggravate the
north-south relations and as a bait for confrontation with
the north. The statement says:
Our side has repeatedly urged the South Korean
authorities to return its submarine and the dead crewmen
unconditionally and immediately. The submarine was wrecked
in the east sea of Korea in september.
This demand is reasonable in view of the background of
the submarine incident and the principle of red cross
humanitarianism.
The South Korean authorities have not returned the
submarine and the dead bodies, claiming that improvement of
north-south relations is unthinkable without "Apology" from
the north.
This arrogant behavior is very unreasonable in view of
the principle of red cross humanitarianism. It is a never-to-
be-condoned inhumane crime in addition to their brutal
killing of our guiltless soldiers.
It is brigandish for the South Korean authorities to turn
down our just demand while urging us to "Apologize."
As a matter of fact, it is they who should apologize and
ask for pardon for the submarine incident.
Although they knew that our submarine was wrecked after
an accident, they groundlessly branded our soldiers as
"Spies" and brutally killed them with the mobilization of
millions of troops and police and helicopters.
Their demand for "Apology" from the north, the victim, is
a gangster-like logic and the height of shamelessness.
The whole nation and human conscience are expressing
bitter indignation at the anti-national and unethic
behaviour of the South Korean authorities, who not only
mercilessly killed the soldiers of the north side but also
are hellbent on the "Inter-Korean closed-door policy",
refusing to return their bodies.
The South Korean authorities would be well advised not to
complicate this matter.
It is clear that nothing good will go to them if they
persist in their delaying tactics and thus make the matter
further complicated.
We have always solved not only Inter-Korean problems but
also problems with other countries from the humanitarian
point of view.
In the past, we even sent back dead bodies of those who
illegally intruded into our side and committed hostile acts
and, furthermore, we have returned remains of those who died
more than 40 years ago in the korean war.
If the south korean authorities, turning their back on
this fact, refuse to send back the submarine and the bodies
of our soldiers and thus complicate the situation, they will
be held wholly responsible for all the consequences arising
therefrom.
